Subject: Bible's view on suicide? |
Bible Note: Tim Your right but I certainly wouldn't tell someone there is a chance of getting into heaven by committing suicide. I would clearly say to a true Christian suicide is not an option. If I was consoling the loved one of someone that committed suicide I would say we do not know how God looked upon their situation and what all the circumstances were. We do know God is a just God and so we have to hope God in His mercy will admit them into heaven. I think anything else is presumptive and not ours to say. Let me say also and I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular especially you Tim. To those that want to say once saved always saved and no sin is unforgivable be careful the blood of those that followed your advice and went to hell may rest upon your head. I know that is a very harsh way of saying it, but scripture tells us we will account for every word we say. And I think before we start making suicide any kind of option even in a philosophical discussion such as this we need to understand people often are looking for agreement before they follow through with their plans. If putting that at someone’s feet bothers them then they might be wise remaining silent on issues of life and death. EdB |
