Bible Note: Tim, I just received more info in regard to the problem between II Thess. 2:7 and Dan. 12:1 I mentioned what you said about the Heb. Word (amad) and this was his response. Your question concerning the meaning of "amad" in Daniel 12:1 is a good one. Obviously, the meaning of the term as defined in a dictionary and how it is used in Daniel 12:1 is important. In context, Daniel 12:1 states that Michael will stand up (stand still, arise, or whatever) and the people of Daniel will experience an unparalleled persecution. Regardless of what the term means, it appears that whatever Michael does, immediately following it his people will experience an unparalleled persecution. This much is certain. No one seems to really understand how the term "amad" is being used in Daniel 12:1. The removal of the restrainer in II Thess. 2 allows the lawless one to come on the scene. The lawless one is antichrist. When the restrainer is removed the persecution by the lawless one begins. Therefore, by reason, Michael's actions and the removal of the restrainers causes the same action. This makes sense to me, what do you think? CDBJ |
