AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Bible Question: The note I post earlier meant to be a question... |
Bible Answer: The belief that it is necessary for any mediator between God and man other than Jesus Christ in not found in the Bible and is considered by many to be idolatry. When I was part of the Catholic Church, I was taught to pray to Mary or to St. Someone it was putting another link between God and myself which is unscriptural and unnecessary. The Bible says to pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete" -John 16:23-24 As far as Holy Mother, Mary wasn't any Holier than you or me. She was chosen to give birth to the Christ child, which is a great honor, but as Paul might say, "that not of herself, but by the grace of God." Mary being a human could never be worthy to carry God in her womb. Speaking the Truth in Love, Jesified |
