Bible Question: Can you lose your salvation? What is meant in Heb6:4-6. that it is impossible for those who been enlightened.....to be brought back to repentance..... |
Bible Answer: Heb 6:4 relates to Mt 12:31,Jn4:10 blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven; heavenly gift being Christ, Eph 2:8,10. Falling away meaning to but away truth, Heb 10:29.Tyndale's version The Living Bible puts it like this: There is no use trying to bring you back to the Lord again if you have once understood the Good News and tasted for yourself the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, and know how good the Word of God is,and felt the mighty powers of the world to come, and then have turned against God.You cannot bring yourself to repent again if you have nailed the Son of God to the cross again by rejecting him, holding him up to mocking and public shame. Can you bring yourself to repent and crusify Christ a new? It's hard to openly admit that you have made a grave mistake. How can a person say and live one way and then change their mind and deny the first come to deny the second to live again in the way he first did? A flip flop or A double flip flop.It is always a choice. You must choose who you will obey. You can't do both. Remember though all things are possible with God. True repentance is accepted and he will not cast out any who come to him.Mk 10:23-27,Jn 6:37-40.I hope that was helpful. God Bless. |
