Bible Note: Hank, I was also thinking of the of 2 timothy 3:5: holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. Jesus said if I be lifted up I would draw ALL men unto Me. (John 12:32). It doen't take a concert, play, other books, games, to draw people to Him. it only takes His Word along with the Holy Spirit. The Bible says we are not to conform to the world. (Rom. 12:2) A preacher once said that the Church is 10 years behind the world. What the World calls "acceptable" the church will do so in 10 years. for example TV, rock music, woman taking leadership roles in the church, Homosexualaty we are beginning to see int he churches today, ect. I think this can be all summed up in couple of verses to why. 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 1:25 For they EXCHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD FOR A LIE, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (emp. added) In conclusion: John 12:32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." I know this is mainly talkiing about His death, but I believe their is a two fold meaning to this verse. You preach the Word you will draw all men unto Him. |
