Subject: Comfort Zone? |
Bible Note: VerticalRelationship - I think the Curtman gave you an excellent illustration of what a "comfort zone" looks like but I'd also like to suggest One's "comfort zone" does NOT refer to the comfort we receive from the Lord. On the contrary, a comfort zone is most often that "place" where the Lord is NOT! As 21st century believers, self reliance creeps deceptively into our worship and our ministry. Anything that we do apart from the power and presence of Jesus Christ is in vain - it is the "wood, hay and stubble" that will not pass the refiner's fire. When we think that we can do anything for the Lord (the "you can do it mentality") we are in effect denying His power - for it is Christ who works in and through us for HIS purposes. This is a subtle trap . . . BUT, any time think we can't do something, this is a good indication that God wants to be at work in us! God uses the weak to work through - they are His strongest vessels (2 Cor 10:12; 1 Cor 1:27-31; Phil 4:13) On a persoanl note, I do not know your circumstances or what country you live in, but in America, we have a God-given system of laws to protect our citizens from beatings and rapes - regardless of their relgious convictions. Please do not ignore the "physical armor" that God has provided for you too! Blessings, mommapbs |
