Bible Question:
What is this God calling us to leave our "comfort zone"? I hear this term being used today and would like to know what is considered the so called "comfort zone"? Is it different for everyone? Or is it a zone, a place that is the same for everyone that one must leave? I do not find the Christian life a easy path to follow. For me it has meant being ridiculed, belittled, feeling battered and raped because my convictions are held in contempt. What comfort am I to leave? The comfort I receive praying or reading the Word? I do not understand this term. Applying God's word in my life is a stretching exercise; it uses muscles I need from him to complete the exercise. Changing has never been easy. Where is this comfort being referred to? |
Bible Answer: Boldy exclaiming that you are a believer and follower of Jesus, the Christ anywhere, anytime. For instance in the workplace. Non-believers may find it unacceptable, may file a complaint, make inappropriate comments about your beliefs and God. Which would therefore be uncomfortable thus one's comfort zone would be interfered with. Matt 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matt 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. This is the reward for stepping out of the box (comfort zone). |
