Subject: "I make peace, and create evil" |
Bible Note: Zerotheory: Even if I subscribed to the hypothesis that God created evil (which not for a moment I do), one would be hard pressed to find an answer to why. My good man, Scripture does not settle and does not propose to answer every knotty and nutty philosophical or metaphysical issue that man can posit. How did God deal with the questions that Job and his friends posed? Did He answer all of them line by line, question by question? Or did not He in fact ask more questions than He answered? But God did do this for Job, and He does it for us: He tells us all that He wants us to know about Himself, about life on earth and life eternal, about physical death and spiritual death, about how we should live in harmony with Him and with our neighbors. He clearly warns against our dabbling in the occult, the esoteric, the vain philosophies of man. Would we not indeed be better off to address our hearts and minds more diligently to learn as much as possible of what God clearly reveals and not waste our precious hours in idle speculation about things which God has reserved to Himself? --Hank |
