Subject: God created satan, did he create evil ? |
Bible Note: actually, the notion of creating evil is a mistaken one. God's character is morally good. it is actually his very character that definess moral good. in this sense good was not created and is eternal as God is eternal. evil as the antithipas of good also has existed eternally, but has existed more as a "possibility" rahter than something that was acted out. you must distinguish evil it self from acts of evil. concerning the verse isaiah 45:7, notice that the word hebrew word being used there is Ra which refers to evil in the sense of destruction or situationally bad things (not morally bad things). Rasha is the hebrew word for moral evil, not ra. so the thing here is trnslation of the word in hebrew and the understanding of the word evil as it is used in this passage. |
