AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 4:21 ¶ The LORD said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders (miracles) which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and make him stubborn so that he will not let the people go. |
Subject: Why was his heart hardened? |
Bible Note: Thank you Steve for your post. I have never said that the Lord did not harden Pharaoh"s heart, What I am concerned with is the implications of this, and how it was done. The means employed by the Lord is made clear in Exodus 7:13. 8:15, and 32. 9:7, and 34. Five times, it is clear that Pharoah hardened his own heart, before at 10:1, the Lord says to Moses "I have hardened his heart". Anyone can harden another persons heart, just try preaching the Gospel to a crowd of unconverted people, and see what reacation you get. At Ex 4:21, the Lord tells Moses what is going to happen at 10:1, If the Holy Spirir has caused it to be recorded five times that Pharoah hardened his own heart, before one reaches 10:1, then there is a very good reason why He has done so. The above is how I understand it was done, the implications thereof I hope to deal with in a another post. I hope Steve that this is of help to you, If you would like further clarification, then please ask. |
