NASB | Psalm 25:18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble, And forgive all my sins. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 25:18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble, And forgive all my sins. |
Subject: not holding sins against them |
Bible Note: De 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. De 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. When these verses are read IN CONTEXT it becomes clear that establishing doctrine from the Scriptures is neither the subject nor the application under discussion. "The execution of the idolator could not take place on the basis of hearsay. There had to be at least two valid witnesses against the accused person in order for a case to be established. One witness was not sufficient in a case of this severity; this standard avoided false testimony" (MacArthur Study Bible). |
