Bible Note: What are you saying? That the whole world now stands forgiven and that everybody is going to heaven? This runs contrary to the Bible and its essential Christian doctrine. This notion of universal salvation (or whatever you want to call it) is not based upon Scripture. The Bible says "he who does not believe will be condemned." Are you saying that just because Christ died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, that everyone automatically believes or that no one needs to believe to be saved? That everyone is forgiven without the need to confess their sins? If so, this teaching is heretical. It is not the teaching of Christ, his Apostles, nor of the church throughout the ages. Moreover, if you are making an assertion here, it is not our job to refute it. The burden of proof lies with the one who makes the assertion. Proof of an assertion does not consist merely in refuting the arguments of the opponents. If you have a point, would you mind telling us what it is, instead of expecting us to tell you what your point is. |
