Subject: What is the son's inheritance? |
Bible Note: Ray This parable is the basic story of the Bible. God the vineyard owner establishes a vineyard ( the world). He then send His prophets to receive of the vineyard (preach to harvest the souls of man) but they are killed just as Bible records. So the vineyard owner then sends his Son who like wise is killed. Then Jesus asks the almost rhetorical question, what would the owner do to those that killed his Son. The men all answer to their own guilt that the owner should kill those that killed His Son. This is kind of like Nathan going to David and telling the story of the rich man that steals the poor families pet lamb. David in anger pronounced that they should be killed and Nathan said that man is you. 2 Sam 12. God is letting these men pronounce judgement upon themselves, thus proving once again his righteous justice. At the time of Christ if a man died without an heir his property was divided by his neighbors. Your right the vineyard is the inheritance which is the world and we are the product of the vineyard. Satan and those who are used of Satan are the men that killed the servants (prophets) and then Jesus. EdB |
