Subject: What is the son's inheritance? |
Bible Note: Hi EdB, You called this passage in Matthew 21 a parable. I believe that it is also. I would not capitalize Son because it is not talking about Him. But whether it is only an earthly story or whether it is speaking about Jesus Himself, the only sense in them killing the heir would be if they thought that the heir and the owner were one. But in this earthly story the chief priests and the elders of the people recognized that the owner of the vineyard would come and bring the vine-growers to a wretched end for killing the son. What the vine-growers (the chief priests and elders) wanted were the proceeds from the vineyard. They did not want to work in the vineyard, they just wanted the proceeds from it. I do not see the connections you are making to other Scriptures. The inheritance in this parable is the vineyard. From the heart, Ray |
