Bible Note: Dear Tim, Thank you for the response. You state,"Concerning the Law, are you saying that since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever that the Law never changes?" Yes, the Law does not change. Please forgive me for quoting from the book of Leviticus regarding incest. The book of Leviticus was written to the Priesthood and is filled with statutes and ordinances such as sacrifices for atonement and circumsision and must be left out because of Hebrews 9 and 10, and Colossians 2:14 which state that statutes and ordinaces were nailed to the cross with Jesus. Heb 10:11-12 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; KJV Col 2:14 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; KJV On top of what I have stated with Scripture to support my view, please find that the Law is from God but statutes and ordinances are not from God and He never asked for sacrifices and takes no pleasure in them whatsoever. Jer 7:22 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: KJV Ps 40:6 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. KJV Hos 6:6-7 6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me. KJV Thank you for helping me learn this by asking great questions. The Law does not change but man made statutes and ordinances do. Incest is an abomination and a sin, it goes against the law of nature and against the Law of our Father. I see incest abiding under thou shalt not commit adultery and, or thou shalt not covet, take your pick. Bless you, Love Fountain Jer 4:4 4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. KJV Jer 4:14 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? KJV Eph 5:25-32 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
