Dear SOG, Oh, I think you must have misunderstood my intention here in answering your "same" questionS with "duplicate question". I apologize for the misunderstanding occurred. So, let me explain. Since I see you might have sent your question 3 times by mistake (well some new users even sent the same question 4 or 5 times or more) which will occupy the main primary question page a lot of space, it would be necessary to "clear up" those duplications for obtaining enough space for the benefit of other new questions. I would not clear up all the duplications if none has been answered. So, you can see that your question (post 207696) has been answered by Cheri (207697). That was why I clear your other duplicated questions with good intent for the forum, other users and you in order to avoid confusion caused by various threads created under the same kind of question. So, if what I have done is somewhat you call it "technical obvious observation", then, yes it is :-) But I need your understanding base on the reason I stated above. Shalom Azure |

924 | feel like god is always hurting me | Hebrews | azurelaw | 229281
Dear klamert64, Since we do not know what is/are the problems(s)/difficulties you are facing, and neither is the forum an ideal place for providing counselling, it would be much beneficial to you if you could talk to your pastor or elders or mature Christians in your church. However, I would offer the below scripture for you to meditate on:- Hebrews chapter 12 1 Peter chapter 2 Shalom Azure |

Dear hokey, Our host the Lockman Foundation has provided us the fuction for checking cross reference bible verses. In your case, you may type John 1:3 onto the "get bible text" box for search. It will show the verse in bold face. On the left hand side of the verse, you will see "I" (means verse information). Click on it then the verse will be listed with strong's number and the explanation at the bottom. You will also see the cross reference verses if it is available. As to your 2nd question, the scripture I suggest is Mat 4:4, Deut 8:3. Hope the above helpful to you. Shalom Azure |

926 | need information on galatians Chapter 6 | Heb 3:12 | azurelaw | 209100
Dear sheltona, Welcome to the forum. I believe V14-15 in chapter 5 is helpful for our understanding of the passage you are in question. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." 5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. Note that in previous chapters, Paul reproved the Galatians' returning to legalism instead of keeping their faith in the complete work of Christ's atonement. (Gal 1:6, 3:1) Now Paul talked about how to deal with weak believers who sinned in Ch 6:1-6. He admonished those who were spiritually matured (i.e. walk in the Spirit - ch 5:16) helped the sinning brothers (to recover from their sins) in meekness and with gentle heart, but NOT condemning others thus fall into the temptation of being boastful or self-righteous. For verse 2, "Love one another" is the commandment of Christ (John 15:12). We have to care about each other as believers are the body of Christ. When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it (1 Cor 12: 26). When helping the sinning brothers, one should also examine oneself as well for we also have our own weaknesses. Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |

928 | Can I use 1kings 3:9 to refer to myself? | Heb 5:14 | azurelaw | 238366
Dear bluegrassbrown, Welcome to the forum. We should be careful not to generate our doctrines from narratives for the context and historical characters varied. I think there are some scriptures from the New Testament (teach about discernment) answer directly to your question concerning discernment. Hebrew 5:14 and Phil 1:9 By the way, in the Book of John, chapter 14, Jesus said He has sent us the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of truth) to teach us all things. Thus He encourages us to pray and ask the Father for the wisdom. Shalom Azure |

929 | Heb6:4-6 Loosing salvation or what? | Heb 6:4 | azurelaw | 207566
Dear beja, A belated welcome to the forum. Let me try to give my 2 cents. I believe Heb 6:7-8 explains what the author (Paul?) meant in terms of tasting the heavenly gift. Then how should we interpret "part takers of the Holy Spirit" in verse 4. Does it necessary mean true believers? Meanwhile, shall we also consider the parable of sowing seeds in Matthew 13:20-22 being understood in parallel to the passage you cited? Your thoughts? Shalom Azure |

933 | In desperate need. | Heb 11:1 | azurelaw | 198514
Dear LJ777, I can empathize with you. However, I am afraid it is unlikely that your problem can be dealt with properly through this media - a study bible forum. Are you attending church? I would strongly suggest that you seek help from your pastor and some faithful and trustworthy brothers and sisters. Ask them to pray with you as well. You are in my prayers, too. Shalom Azure |

Dear readnword, The verse you quoted (Gen 22:9) did not indicate Isaac shared the faith of Abraham's in God's promises. However, the Bible does comment on Isaac's faith in God, see Hebrew 11:20. Shalom Azure |

937 | dating what is to far? | Heb 13:4 | azurelaw | 228480
Dear Waterlilly, What do you mean "...who can't get remarriage"? Are you Christians? It seems that you don't want to marry, too. Let's see what does the Bible say in concern with our lust:- 1 Cor 7:9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. Heb 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. My advice to you is : 1/ stop such behaviour and pray for repentance. 2/ prepare yourself to be a godly woman and introspect and learn seriously on the issue of God-ordained marriage. 3/ find a guy who is a godly man and is serious about marriage. Shalom Azure |

938 | Crucified outside city gates | Heb 13:11 | azurelaw | 221954
Dear JNash, Here are some citations for your reference and I hope they are helpful. **** Lev. 4:8-12 The remainder of the offering, the disassembly or cutting up of the bull is the same as for the peace offering except for the outer portions, the skin and the carcass of the bull itself. The fat portions, the two kidneys, and the covering of the liver, are returned to the alter and burned thereon. The remainder of the bull is taken out of the tabernacle court area to a place outside and burned outside. This place is the same location where the ashes are dumped. Jesus was taken outside of the city. He had been betrayed by all of His followers, all of the priests, all of His friends and acquaintances. There was no one who would stand up and speak for Him during His several trials and even up to the point of the Cross. No one came forward. Man has no part in the work of God. When it came right down to His time of need, only God was there for Him, and no one else. Thus the carcass was taken outside of the tabernacle to be burned. The ashes speak of the completed sacrifice. When there are ashes only, then the work is done. The ashes speak of the finished work of Christ on the Cross. This description of the sin offering is explained in Heb. 13:11-13, with respect to the body being burned outside the camp, likewise Christ was crucified outside the city gate. He had been forsaken by all. Forsaken by the Levitical priesthood which had by this time thoroughly compromised and distorted the whole Levitical ritual process and ceremonial feasts, Forsaken by His apostles and disciples who had lived with him for two plus years, hearing Jesus speak, seeing Him perform miracles almost on a daily basis. Forsaken by God the Father and God the Spirit on the Cross during those three final hours. All of this while outside the city, out in the sticks, humiliated and dishonored by all. So Jesus Christ became a total and complete rejection by all. It was thus that He performed the greatest work in all of history, and for each one of us though none of deserved it. (source : dailybiblestudy.org) ***** The direction in which He is led is outside the city. He must not die in Jerusalem, though multitudes of Prophets had perished there. Though the Temple was the central place of sacrifice, yet the Son of God must not be offered there, for He was an offering of another kind and must not lie upon their altars. He must be led outside the city because, by the Jews, He was treated as a flagrant offender who must be executed at the Tyburn of the city, in the appointed place of doom known as Calvary or Golgotha. When Naboth was unjustly condemned for blasphemy, they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him with stones that he died. And afterwards Stephen—when they cried out against him as a blasphemer, they cast him out of the city and there they stoned him. Our Savior, therefore, must die in the ordinary place of execution, that in all respects He might be numbered with the transgressors. The rulers of the city so loathed and detested their great Reprover that they rejected Him and would not suffer Him to die within their city walls! Alas, poor Jerusalem, in casting out the Son of David, you did cast out your last hope—now are you bound over to desolation! He was led outside of the city because, from that time on, no acceptable sacrifice could be offered there. They might go on with their offering of daily lambs and they might sacrifice their bullocks and burn the fat of fed beasts—but from that day the substance of the sacrifice had gone away from them and Israel’s offerings were vain oblations. --- C. H. Spurgeon (source: spurgeongems.org) ***** Shalom Azure |

Dear JRV, Welcome to the forum. Hope the below commentary from John Gill helpful to you. "This epistle is called 'general,' because not written to any particular person, as the epistles to Timothy, Titus, and Philemon are; nor to any particular churches, as the epistles to the Romans, Corinthians... but to the believing Jews in general, wherever they were."
