802 | 'virgin' after oral sex? | 1 Cor 6:18 | azurelaw | 178580
Dear Jandac, I believe you know quite well whether or not you are a virgin. By physical (worldly) definition - I would say yes. However, do you think God's standard is same as the world's? If so, why ask? If not, why ask for definition? What the Lord asks of us is very clear in the Bible as Steve and Joanna have posted. Didn't Jesus say : Then give Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's (Luke 20:25). Are you the world's? or Are you God's? If you are seeking biblical advice: repent, and do not do it again (Jesus has taught us how to pray - ... lead us not into TEMPTATION, but deliver us from evil...) Speaking the truth in love Azure |

803 | Worst things come upon you! | 1 Cor 6:18 | azurelaw | 223181
Dear Grace, As far as I can recall, there is no such notion in the scriptures as you indicated. However, in 1 Cor 6:18, Paul talked about immorality or loosen sexuality is worse than other sin for believers' bodies are the temple of God. Shalom Azure |

804 | Chosen one | 1 Cor 6:19 | azurelaw | 215278
Dear Chosen, Welcome to the forum. Yes, we are under grace but it does not mean that we can do whatever we want (Rom 5:20-6:23). But I am not saying that putting on tattoos is sin. Perhaps you may find the below helpful to you. http://www.gotquestions.org/tattoos-sin.html http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-tattoos.html Shalom Azure |

805 | Is tattoos acceptabe as christians | 1 Cor 6:19 | azurelaw | 215285
Dear Chosen, I would suggest you do a bit of searching by typing the post # 9741 and scroll down to the bottom of the page. It will lead you to the past discussion on Leviticus 19:28. My quick and preliminary reading find that some of the posts provided some historical background concerning the law given to the Israelite. I believe they are helpful for your understanding of Lev 19:28 and its application. Whether it is sin or not, I believe it depends on our motive of such behaviour. The 2 articles in the link I gave you earlier have addressed this point I think. Some years ago I was told (but still need verification) that tattooing was pretty much common in the army as it served the function of personal identification for the victims at war in the old time since soldiers could be blown into pieces that beyond recognition. 806 | Is tattoos acceptabe as christians | 1 Cor 6:19 | azurelaw | 215288
Hi again, Chosen: Here's what I've just got from wikipedia : "Tattoos are sometimes used by forensic pathologists to help them identify burned, putrefied, or mutilated bodies. Tattoo pigment is buried deep enough in the skin that even severe burns will often not destroy a tattoo. Because of this, many members of today's military will have their identification tags tattooed onto their chests or ribs (these are sometimes known as "meat tags" in the American armed forces). For many centuries seafarers have undergone tattooing for the purpose of enabling identification after drowning. In this way recovered bodies of such drowned persons could be connected with their family members or friends before burial. Therefore tattooists often worked in ports where potential customers were numerous. The traditional custom continues today in the Royal Navy (Great Britain) and in many others." Shalom Azure |

807 | paul said is good to marry,while is not | 1 Cor 7:7 | azurelaw | 194439

809 | is it ok to worry for other people? | 1 Cor 9:9 | azurelaw | 177426
Dear Ben, May I suggest the below scripture which I think could fit to your question concerning worry for friends spiritual well-being or even sinning. The verse though meant for Job's children, however, I think it can also apply today concerning our caring for friends and remember them in our prayers. Job 1:4 to 5 His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, "Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom. Hope this help. In Christ Azure |

810 | Why apostle Paul identifies rock | 1 Cor 10:4 | azurelaw | 221974
Dear Alex, The answer lies in the verse you quote - the AMP version which reads:- "And they all drank the same spiritual (supernaturally given) drink. For they drank from a spiritual Rock which followed them [produced by the sole power of God Himself without natural instrumentality], and the Rock was Christ. [Exod. 17:6; Num. 20:11.]" See the cross reference scripture : Exodus 17:6 Shalom Azure |

812 | Will God put on us more than we can bear | 1 Cor 10:13 | azurelaw | 193182
Dear ashelton, I believe most people make use of 1 cor 10:13 to convey the idea that God will not put more on us than we can bear. You have already noticed that this scripture talked about temptation. Temptations are also trials (in other sense) for believers to grow. But God does not tempt us (James 1:12-14). He makes use of our weaknesses to show His power and glory (2 Cor 12:9). Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |

813 | Christ honoring position: wine/alcohol | 1 Cor 10:31 | azurelaw | 193251
Dear pastor63, Welcome to the forum. 1/ Drinking alcoholic beverage is not sin. John 2:1-10, Jesus changed water into wine at a wedding. Mat 11:19 Jesus rebuked the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. 1 Tim 5:23 Paul advised Timonthy to drink some wine for health's sake. 2/ Become drunk is sin. Rom 13:13 1 Cor 5:11 Gal 5:21 1 Cor 6:10 Eph 5:18 3/ Most importantly is that we should honour God and stumble not our brothers of less faith. Rom 14:21 1 Cor 10:31 Since the topic has been discussed before, you might want to do a word search for past thread. Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |

815 | unsaved in ministry | 1 Cor 12:1 | azurelaw | 227866
Dear Lady, Brother Steve has given you a fine answer. I would like you to also consider another passage Leviticus 10:1-3 Lev 10:1 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. Lev 10:2 And fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD. Lev 10:3 Then Moses said to Aaron, "It is what the LORD spoke, saying, 'By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, And before all the people I will be honored.'" So Aaron, therefore, kept silent. See how God is zealous about His holiness and glory even His priests were not allowed to make offering whenever/whatever/however as they wish. Shalom Azure |

817 | What do we focus on? | 1 Cor 12:13 | azurelaw | 183437
Dear Justme, It is really encouraging by reading your post in knowing the good work of your denominations. Praise God. However, I would say that the glass has a much much bigger empty portion. As true believers, we will not be satisfied with only having the small portion of pure water in the glass. We must continure to light the sparks and spread the fire to heat up the lukewarm. God bless your denominations and your work Shalom Azure |

819 | loving others | 1 Cor 13:1 | azurelaw | 189258
Dear NightJay, Glad to know that you like to learn about this wide and deep subject. Keep up the good work. May I offer my 0.2 percent (I dare not say 2 percent) of my understanding concerning the subject. God is love. (You probably know this) Paul has given us a detail description about love in 1 Corinthian 13. Most of the time the sermons I heard, the speakers quoted the famous 1 Cor 13 as an encouragement / guideline to us for treating one another especially in wedding ceremonies. One day, our cell group leader shared with us an additional view that 1 Cor 13 is talking about God. For He is the source of love. It seems I have not answered your question yet. Matt 22:39 ....and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." If you don't love yourself, how can you love your neighbour? Who control our lives? GOD, no one else. Hope the above is helpful to you. Maybe you will be interest in reading the book "The Four Loves" by C.S. Lewis. Shalom Azure |

820 | Why do I want to speak in tongues? | 1 Cor 13:1 | azurelaw | 212354
Dear catmandel, I see you have been given some fine answers. I think, if the church that you are attending is pushig the idea that you are not saved unless you can speak in tongue (it is unbiblical as Justme has pointed out), you should consider finding another church that teaches biblically and with sound doctrines. Pray for God's guidance. Shalom Azure |
