Bible Question: I need to know the biblical stand on whether drinking wine is dishonoring to The Lord. Also how do we sanely take a position with beer?,hard liquor or mixed drinks? |
Bible Answer: Dear pastor63, Welcome to the forum. 1/ Drinking alcoholic beverage is not sin. John 2:1-10, Jesus changed water into wine at a wedding. Mat 11:19 Jesus rebuked the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. 1 Tim 5:23 Paul advised Timonthy to drink some wine for health's sake. 2/ Become drunk is sin. Rom 13:13 1 Cor 5:11 Gal 5:21 1 Cor 6:10 Eph 5:18 3/ Most importantly is that we should honour God and stumble not our brothers of less faith. Rom 14:21 1 Cor 10:31 Since the topic has been discussed before, you might want to do a word search for past thread. Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |
