Although I quote the following as a reminder Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Phil 4:9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. I must admit, I too have led a life of reading and watching some questionable material. So I guess we could all confess to one another we could all strive to improve how well we comply with God's instructions in this regard. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

62 | single men looking | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 130990
I can only share with you my experience with my son. You see, porno was one of his problems as a teen, many years ago and I guess it still is because to this day as a grown man, married for several years, he still goes to weekly meetings. In these meetings, he meets other people, men and women who are all "confessed sex addicts." That is, they've got to get their "sexual fix" almost every day or more when they're actually hooked, just like alcoholics. Now, I'm proud to say, our son has been "on the wagon" now for almost a year and is now leading, promoting and teaching others to follow the example given them. Sex addiction is a very real and growing problem throughout this country, just ask any counselor in the larger cities and they'll give you the latest scoop about what I'm telling you. At its worst, this addiction can lead to rape and murder because its like a gigantic and very stong whirlpool. One doesn't realize the danger until it's too late. Don't allow your boyfriend to get sucked in. Instead I'd advise him to find some christian young men with whom he can confide his fears and weaknesses, someone he can trust to keep it confidential and then will pray for him and best of all, check on him and encourage to stay pure in mind. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. I do sincerely hope this helps you to resolve to be strong and faithful to our Lord and Master. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

63 | Studying beyond reading | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 131605
You've discovered a very good tool to add to your Bible study by joining this Forum. Here, almost everything and every subject is available for discussion. Inevitably, you'll see some very, very tough and deep subjects. When one of these topics piques your curiosity, just insert the key word(s) in the Quick Search to the upper right of your screen and you'll see the kind of depth I'm talking about. You'll also see a little shallowness and maybe a little humor, so enjoy and welcome to the Forum. I'm really encouraged that someone as young as you has joined the Forum. By the way, I do hope you're at least 18 years old. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

64 | should a catholic marraige be sanctified | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 131631
I was just cruising the Forum as I do upon occasion and noticed your Post. In it, you seem to imply that not everyone in the Catholic faith believes everything alike. Please don't take offense as I ask these questions purely from a perspective of curiosity. 1) Do you believe in the doctrine of the Catholic Pope being infallible or equal to God Himself as the Catholics declared in 1870? In other words, can the Pope still issue edicts equal to the Bible Itself in power and authority to christians? 2) Do you practice the custom of praying to or through the virgin mother Mary, mother of Jesus? Or any other saints from the past, including those cited in the Bible, i.e. Apostles? Blessings to you. Country Girl |

I'm glad to see that you don't believe in the infallibility of the Pope. But the Pope and his organization in Rome do or so it seems according the Catholic website, http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07790a.htm. Concerning the custom of praying through the saints in Heaven, it seems that Jesus taught in Jn 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. and endorsed by Paul 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. Blessings to you, dear friend. Country Girl |

66 | should a catholic marraige be sanctified | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 131667
I deeply regret that you've been thoroughly deceived into believing this doctrine. I was really hoping you were a member of a Catholic sect that didn't believe in this particular deception. It's just so hard to believe that so many millions have been deceived in spite of all the Bible teaching AND the tremendous amount of history of abuses and mistakes of the Catholic organization over the fifteen hundred years they've been in existence. I really do hope you'll study and pray on this matter. I hope you'll reconsider after seeing all the posts from the other Forum participants. Please continue to pray and study on all of this. I would encourage you to think about this. There's nothing in the Bible giving power and authority to the Pope to rule in such an absolute manner as he does. Blessings to you, dear friend. 67 | should a catholic marraige be sanctified | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 131702
I'll say just this one last statement and then hush as I really don't want to cause Emmanus or anyone else any more grief. The one single item that should be put on the pedestal that is claimed by the Pope is the Bible, God's Word. As long as the Pope DOES NOT make an open and public confession, repenting for his mistake then all Catholics everywhere will continue to be deceived. Again, ONLY the Bible (no particular version) can be placed on that pedestal commanding mankind everywhere to repent. Please notice, I'm NOT advocating worship and our bowing to the hard copy, written Bible. Absolutely not, only the Godhead get that kind of worship. But I AM saying that ONLY God's Word can be used to find Jesus and thus find God and eventually become a christian. Only the Bible (really only the NT for this dispensation) dictates with authority, activities, methods of worship and all other actions involving the Lord's church here on earth. Everything else has to wait until the ending of time and the universe on Judgment Day. I really need to hush now and get off my soapbox but Blessings to us all, especially Emmanus as he continues to study and pray on this matter. Our prayers are with you, my friend, Emmanus. Country Girl PS: This is one time, I'm thankful to see the "thread restriction" as I'd really only want the most mature christians to see this post. Blessings to our wise Lockman Foundation. |

As I alluded to in my earlier posts, the biggest thing that the Pope, indeed the whole Papacy system needs to repent for is their sin of deceiving the whole world. Don't you see, this issue is somewhat closely related to the very core foundation upon which this Forum was founded. Along with acknowledging the Absolute Supremecy of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and Holy Ghost is that of the Bible, God's Holy Word. The Bible (all of what It represents) not the actual hard copy with all of man's imperfections and translations is Absolutely Holy as it really is the acutal Words of God Himself. ONLY the Bible gets that kind of respect. No christian here on earth, no elder, deacon, nothing else and no one else on earth, nothing physical should command that kind of honor and should be put on that pedestal. For anyone to claim to receive a special "dose" of revelation about God's business, organization of or running the church's affairs in any way should conflict with His Guidance in our Bible. There's absolutely NOTHING in the Bible to suggest that Peter passed on this kind of authority from himself to anyone. IF he had, it would have been very clearly described and specifically detailed as this is an incredibly important issue. For any human being to take guidance from another human but to consider it equal to God's Word is ludicrous. When an objective study is made of God's Word and the history surrounding this controversy, it becomes astondingly clear this whole thing was man's doing. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Catholics didn't get around to actually declaring with a public proclamation about this infallibility of the Pope until 1870 AND this proclamation has NEVER been repealed nor has there ever been a public apology. AND this controversy had been discussed and hotly debated by the Catholics for centuries...even they could not agree on the exact wording for this proclamation. So, although I feel tremendous sorrow for Emmanus and his fellow Catholics, I cannot allow the Forum participants to misunderstand and buy into this continued deception without saying something about it. I have said and I will continue praying for Emmanus, but again when faced with a choice between the words of man or the Words of God, we must make our choice very clear. I hope this helps you understand and Blessings to you. Country Girl |

69 | A New Perspective!??! | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 132675
I found this rather and unusual article in a christian publication. The Paomnnehal Pweor of the Hmuan Mnid Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredo the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzaning huh? I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are they works; and that my soul knoweth right well -- Psalm 139:14 End of Article. You have no idea how difficult it was to key this in. Try it. I'm thinking the hidden message behind this article is pretty powerful so let me know what you think about it. It says a lot to me but I'm more interested in your response/opinion. Blessings to you all. Country Girl |

Phanomenal (sp?) was the word I got. But what I'm really more interested in is the implications as this hidden message might draw from God's Word. Think about it and get back to me. Looking forward to your response. Thanks and blessings to you. Country Girl |

71 | A New Perspective!??! | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 132718
I may be all wet with this thinking but when I first read this article, it made me think of the following verses. Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. Rev 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." As long as we God in the very beginning of His Word (our Bibles) and we see Christ Jesus as God at the very end, we should see the Godhead as a whole throughout the entire Bible. AND we should in my mind be able to understand the most important message contained therein; that is God wants us to come home to Him and He's given us the instructions we need to find our way to Him. Is that deep or what? Let me know what you think. Anyone else? Blessings to you all. Country Girl |

72 | A New Perspective!??! | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 133269
As a supplement to my previous thought, I might throw this in. No matter how they're mixed up or who is responsible for the mixing (confusion) as long as our first reaction is to go to God's Word for clarification, we'll be well on our way toward the real answer. So in spite of all the abuse, the misinterpretations and other misuses, God's Word, our Bible will endure forever. I'm thankful to God that He is such an incredible Author, so as to write such a Book and then protect Her throughout all time. What a Treasure. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

This is the first time (that I can remember) you and I exchanged posts so I re-read your profile. Obviously you've lived a very full and productive life. I'm thankful we have you on the Forum. 74 | angry at Aaron and miriam | OT general | Country Girl | 123527
I can only assume you're referring to the following Num 12:1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (for he had married a Cushite woman); It looks as though you don't realize that the Jews were under very strict rules to keep the bloodline pure. Moses' brother and sister were upset with Moses for not adhering to that family tradition. But if you continue reading in that chapter, you'll see that God came down rather harshly on them but endorsed Moses. Many times we see that God takes many exceptions to man's traditions such as giving prominence to some other child other than the first born son. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

75 | King Davids mother was whom? | OT general | Country Girl | 125087
Upon inserting words, David and mother into the Word Search, this is all I get 1 Sam 22:3 And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, "Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me." But I suppose you've already done that. It appears the Bible does not identify the mother of King David, like so many other questions left for us to ponder. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

I can think of at least two, Ruth and Esther. Do I win a prize. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. But however, if I just win another day in the Lord's Kingdom, I rejoice. Blessings to you. PS: Did you have a particular question or topic to discuss, please specify. |

77 | Study of the minor prophets? | OT general | Country Girl | 127540
Which Book of the Minor Prophets were you planning to tackle? Or maybe you hope to discuss them all, starting with the first? What kind of format(s) would you be thinking about? I would suggest that the format include a short introduction about the book. Maybe solicit volunteers to tackle the different succeeding books in sequence. Let us what you think? Blessings to you. 80 | Why did God send Jacob's Family to Egypt | OT general | Country Girl | 130150
The best answer I can come up with is the traditional: this is the perfect antitype showcasing the similarity to God's rescuing the world both in their dispensation with His sending Moses and His Sacrifice of His Son for the whole world for all time. Notice the similarities: We (both mankind and Israelites) went into this condition willingly and flourished. We both gripe and grumble about the conditions therein. We both want and need a rescuer but don't really know it. We both want to be rescued on our terms, in accordance with our wishes. A price had to be paid in blood; there is a ritual celebrating the shedding of that blood. The journey to get to the ultimate destination is long and tedious, frought with perils and battles along the way. There are many, many who don't make it; as a matter of fact, only two made it into the Promised Land, reminding us of the Straight and Narrow Way to Heaven. Moses negotiated at the Mountain for his people just like Christ is doing for all of us now as our advocate. Moses issued God's Decrees and Laws just like Christ has done for us through His Apostles. In both cases, most of them are really for our own good and to improve our lifestyle here on earth. Moses delegated to his brother Aaron just like Jesus did to His beloved Apostles. I'm sure I must be missing some other similarities but you get my point. So much of the OT points toward the NT so that we see God's intention all along. Rom 15:3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me." 4For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, Blessings to you.
