21 | Bibical mean for LOVE, WISDOM AND LIGHT | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 124880
By no means would I take offense as I quite agree with you. But for serious Bible students, I think we would all agree, Ecclesiastes is much deeper than Proverbs. I'm thinking after restudying the book recently in class, that Solomon wrote this book after Proverbs, maybe even in the twilight years of his life. In some respects, it's a depressing book but if we look at it knowing all of what he went through, we can gain a lot of wisdom. Thanks for the supplement. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

22 | Can we recognize loved ones in heaven | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 124927
If I may interject at this point, I'd like to say that Norm HAS answered the question. The Bible is NOT particularly clear on this controversy. The scripture you've cited with the rich man Lazarus does seem to favor your position but it is only a parable. In seeming contrast are the scriptures from Norm which seem to say that we won't have our physical bodies in heaven. Just my opinion, but I'm thinking since the whole universe is going to go up in smoke according to Peter that Heaven is going to be a metaphysical place, that is spiritual where God's Being is going to be forever. We as christians will be there forever with him but we don't really have clear details on exactly what it's going to be like as we humans don't have any "reference points" for such a spiritual place. I think I'll wait until it happens and see what it's going to be like. This one thing I do know: it's going to be far more glorious and wonderful than anything we could possibly imagine. Blessings to you all. Country Girl |

23 | do i have to worship loudly? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 124928
Just to let you know there are a wide variety of opinions on this subject: faith vs. works. Just insert these words into the Quick Search or the scriptures from James, Chapter 2 and you'll see. Remember each of us has to study God's Word for our own conclusion as God expects us to stand for ourselves on Judgment Day. Hank is an excellent Bible student but we're all just human and ONLY God's Judgment is absolutely perfect. Hope this helps in your study. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

25 | Prayers for Justme | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125078
I'm hoping to start a prayer chain for Justme since he requests his "question" to stay on the unanswered list for a while. I'm everyone on the Forum will join me that Justme is healed completely and restored. But we'll also pray for God's Will to be done. Blessings to you, dear friend, Justme. Country Girl |

27 | Key verse of the Bible? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125645
I'd have to say Jesus provided the correct answer to this question. Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' Mark 12:31 "The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these." The best part of this scripture is that Jesus gives us the second KEY verse of the Bible, all in the same paragraph and setting. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

28 | What Is The Meaning Of Life? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125853
About the best I can do is refer you to the Books of Job and Ecclesiates. There, you'll find some similarly tough questions. The answers are also not easy to dig out or to understand. They both get pretty deep. Good luck or rather God's blessings to you. Country Girl
29 | Which one are we not going to keep? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125875
I thinking we should comply or obey with all the commands of the NT, including those nine commandments carried over from the OT. Which portion of the NT do you see as disposable? Then again, which portion of the OT do you see that is essential or required of us modern christians? I thought Christ took the old law and its requirements to the cross with him in accordance with Col 2:14. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

30 | Which one are we not going to keep? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125885
But then, how do you explain or reconcile Col 2:14 into this position? If the OT was good to go, why do we have the NT? What about all those animal sacrifices and the Levitcal Priesthood? You can't observe and practice Judiasm and Christianity both, can you? If so, how's it done? How come Hebrews puts the superiority of Christianity so far over that of Judiasm? I'm afraid your position has quite a few problems with it. In contrast, I must admit your citation of verses from Matthew is quite powerful until one remembers that Christ may have been speaking figuratively. I'm thinking when the Romans came in 70 AD and totally destroyed everything, including the temple and all the records of their geneology, it really was like the Lord's destroying their world. It's like as if God was saying "I'm done with you people as a nation. You won't be taking advantage of my love any longer." Anyway, that's how I've reconciled this seeming conflict. What do you think? Blessings to you, dear friend. Country Girl |

31 | Which one are we not going to keep? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 125886
I just remembered one more tidbit of explanation. Quoted from your post: Matthew 5:17-19 (ESV) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. [18] For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Here I would key in on the phrase "until all is accomplished." I've been taught to believe that this was Christ's mission: to come to the earth, live the Perfect Sinless Life and offer His body as a Sacrifice for our sins and take the OT with Him to His Grave. Thus upon accomplishing that great and noble deed, the OT no longer existed as far as God was concerned but Christ's Law of Liberty was executed in accordance with His Last Will and Testament on that day at Pentacost, Acts Chapter 2. So there's another question for you to reconcile with your position. If this is not what Christ meant with that phrase; what WAS to be accomplished and do away with the Law and the Prophets? Blessings to you. Country Girl |

32 | Where does the Bible SAY that? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 126014
I noticed you forgot to quote the whole post or at least the most important portion (in caps below for emphasis). Now, would you please reword your question to this statement? Thanks. Subject: Which one are we not going to keep? Note: I just remembered one more tidbit of explanation. Quoted from your post: Matthew 5:17-19 (ESV) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 34 | Isn't jealousy bad? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 126573
Jealousy is most certainly a bad thing when one is talking about jealousy and humans (you and me). But when one turns to the subject of Jealousy and God, that's a whole different matter. Since He is the Creator and we are the created, He is completely entitled to all the Jealousy He would like to display. He bought us and paid for us with dear Son's blood. Now it's up to us to redeem ourselves and live a christian life and make it to Heaven. But as you've indicated, God is a Jealous God and will NOT tolerate sharing us with the Devil. "We're either for Him or against Him and for the Devil." God's Perfect sense of Justice demands this kind of Jealousy. Hope this helps your understanding and blessings to you. Country Girl |

36 | Where is God? | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 126912
When I read your statement, I can only respond with the basics. Keep reading your Bible and keep praying. You might try to spend more time with your fellow christians and ask a brother in whom you can confide your feelings and ask him how he has dealt with these kind of problems. With respect to your Bible reading, you might place special emphasis on reading from and about God's special people who had similar problems like Job and Solomon. They each had their own misgivings about God and provide some stimulating answers. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

37 | What is an angel | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 126981
The meaning of angel throughout the Bible has always been "messenger of God." Is there something in particular about angels you wish to know? Please elaborate. Also, it'll help greatly if you can pinpoint which angel in scripture to whom you're referring. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

38 | How our Loving God commanded such things | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 127397
This topic has been handled pretty thoroughly in the past. One good discussion starts with Post No 118345, between Just Read Mark, Rowdy and Kalos. It seems God is God and we are His creation. As the Potter, He can do anything He likes with us clay pots. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

39 | How our Loving God commanded such things | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 127424
Speaking as a parent, it's difficult like you say for a child to truly love, see and understand love like the parent would prefer UNTIL the child learns to respect the parent. In the same way, we as God's children must respect Him for Who He is and What He represents then we should find it easier to love Him AND see His love for us. It's a growth process. Some folks never learn very much Godliness from this process. Others learn a tremendous amount and become great leaders in their generation of christians about them. Me, I'll settle for being somewhere in between. This is sometimes a rather difficult subject to deal with especially for those of us going through a lot of suffering, pain and anguish. We don't really want to believe that God would allow all this bad stuff happen to us, even upon reading the story of Job. That's just another Book in our Bible but to Job, his friends and family, it was a very real story and it really did happen just exactly like God tells it. So, the bottom line is: We're NOT going to get a nice, easy "comfortable" answer to questions like this. We either have to accept God's supreme sovreignty or not. We can choose to accept His Love or reject it. This is all made plain in the Books of Genesis and Job. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

40 | How our Loving God commanded such things | Bible general Archive 2 | Country Girl | 127431
I just skimmed (and actually read a few paragraphs) of the whole article to which you refer and you are quite right. Mr. Edwards did a mastful, exquisite job of describing the situation. I especially like his emphasis on God's saving us all from falling into Hell at any minute simply "by His pleasure." Very vivid and powerful. What tremendous love and patience our God shows to us. We (the majority of this planet) reject His Son's blood as our only hope from the fall. The few of us that do accept God's saving Grace and Mercy and become His child, don't do nearly enough spreading of His Word, His Son's Gospel Message. Appreciate your adding this website to the Forum for we have certainly been blessed by it. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
