441 | Why have J W's changed John 1:1 | John | jlpangilinan | 30465
It is very simple. Jehovas Witnesses believed that Christ is a God with an small "g" J.W. believed that Christ is a created "god" by JEHOVAH. We dont have to surprise about that, it is thier own translations, they maybe tranlated it with vested interest to suit in thier own doctrines. Too many congregation keep changing the translation of the bible to suit thier own teaching. If you read catholic bible they have thier own translation that will suit thier own teaching. Let me give you an example: KJV 1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. "Forbidding to marry" in catholic good news bible was written this way "Forbidding to marriage" which is the meaning is very different, "the term forbidding to marraige" will free them in thier doctrines that priest must not married. because thier priest is not forbidding to marriage thier members but forbidding themselves to marry. Another example: KJV Re 18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, Re 18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. "and souls of men" in the very last part translated in the catholic bible as "human lives" which again has a very big different. It is again will free them from thier doctrine that if you pay some money then they will pray for the soul of let say you father, or friend, it will realease from purgatory. That prophecy in revelation will be them merchants even "souls of men". but if you change it to "human lives" it will mean slavery, prostitutions and other form of merchants using our neighboors. I hope you got my point. God bless, Johnny |

442 | Is it a sin to marry outside your race? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 30272
Dear Samson 2000, What do you mean of "out of your race"? out of your congregation or not a believer not all? Apostle paul reminded us if possible we have to marry those who belongs to a believer, because sometimes it could be a way of falling us. In the time of moses it is very strict not to marry to those came from other nations. We know at the time it is Israel who believed in the true God. In the time of the new testament, this what apostle Paul said about it.: 1Co 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. It is apotle paul said if we have a husband/wife that unbeliever we dont leave them, why? 1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. The believer will sanctified them, make sure that them you cant turn around to your faith not them who will turn around yours. God bless, Johnny |

443 | Did Peter lost his salvation? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 30260
I do believed that even in the Old testament, betrayal for Jesus is prophecies. But I know it was not scripted by God that Judas will betray Him it is the participation of the devil of somehow killed Jesus so the divine plan will not happened. Do Peter lost His salvation? "No" denying Jesus is not plan by Peter it is not his habit to lie, but as a human, he maybe feard for his life at the time. Peter is a human he lied and deny Jesus, but he repented. Judas is done other things you know that, and instead of repented he murdered himself which is against the law of God. You asked me if peter lost his salvation? my answer is definitely "NO" how did this question come to your mind? Did Peter murdered himself? as Judas did. God bless, Johnny |

444 | Prophesy of Jewish blindness of Savior? | Deut 18:15 | jlpangilinan | 30120
In the Deut 18:15 Moses told to the people of Israel that there will be a Messiah. De 18:15 ¶ The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; It is also Jesus Christ knew that His people of Israel will not accept Him as a Messiah. Mt 13:57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. Lu 4:24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. Jewish people do beleived that there is Messiah, what they dont believed is that Jesus Christ is the Messiah that they are waiting until now. Jewish until know waiting for thier Messiah, but they having problem now how to locate the record if that Messiah is from the generations of David. After the invations of Nebuchadnezzar, and Roman empire thier relic was lost, it is now too hard to locate the people that belongs to generations of David becuase it was written that Messiah is from generations of David. They are waiting for that Messiah until now. God bless, Johnny |

445 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | jlpangilinan | 30114
I do not believed in "Once save always save". It was happened to Judas. He is one of the twelve but then fall.: Mt 10:1 ¶ And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 1. MHCC Mt 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Mt 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Mt 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Mt 10:5 ¶ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: Mt 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Mt 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mt 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. If it is happened to him to fall, it can happen to anyone if we are not be vigilant: 1Pe 5:8 ¶ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: If once save is always save, why be vigilant? why Peter warn us that devil is like a roaring lion? walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Meaning there are chance of falling. I before belongs to the congregation that has that believed "Once Save is Always Save" but we have backslider we have members that back to thier habit and worsen than before. We do ex-communicated members because of some terrible situations. If Once Save id always save? how could church ex-communicates members. Man had freed in his past life can be worsen if He is not being vigilant and watchfull: Lu 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. Lu 11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Lu 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. God bless, Johnny |

446 | Read the full length note. | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 30106
I am agree with mike, if once save is always save, can you tell me that Judas is save? Judas has given even power to heal as one of the desciples: Mt 10:1 ¶ And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Mt 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Mt 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Mt 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Mt 10:5 ¶ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But Judas fall to hand of satan. Apostle paul also told us to work out our own salvation: Php 2:12 ¶ Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Meaning we have to be wathcfull beacuse satan is like a roaring lion: 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour Peter talking to his brethren, He warn them to be vigilant so meaning there chance to fall. Here in our country too many congregation that has that kind of believed. But sometimes they ex-cummunicate some of thier members for some terrible reasons. If save is always save, how could you ex-communicate a save person? God bless, Johnny |

448 | Multi-(G)god Universe? | Acts 2:38 | jlpangilinan | 29821
Dear Charis, 1.Do you believe there are two Gods (with a capital 'G'), the Father in heaven and Jesus at His right hand, and a Holy Spirit who is not God? Yes! I believed that there is only One God the Father, only one God the Son (Jesus) and only one Holy Spirit. 2.Do you believe that there are other gods (with a small 'g') that are equally powerful to God(s)? Ps 82:1 ¶ A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. But I do believe who is required worship! and who is created the universe. They are not equal with God. 3.Are these gods the 'superior beings' in charge of other religions? (such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, etc.) Those gods mentions are the Sons of God mentions in the scriptures. God indeed created moses as god to Pharaoh of egypt. Anyone indeed cannot prove that moses is a false god because it God says that He made moses god to Pharaoh. But I know that moses is not the God that we have to worship. 4.Were these gods created by God(s), by man, or are they synchronous (the same time) with God(s)? they are sons of God as I mentioned 5.Are Gods and gods sharing the faith of the planet in a friendly manner, or are the battling over believers? This one it is not my problem anymore. Can I ask questions too? Do you think those gods mentions in the scriptures are false gods? Where is it in the scriptures that will stated that they are false God? Do you believe that when God make someone are the true or false? When God created moses as god to Pharaoh is he true god or a false god?. Can you show me the verse that moses is a false god? God bless, Johnny |

452 | "Oliver Twist" Christians? | 2 Tim 3:16 | jlpangilinan | 29068
I can maybe answer part of your questions. "Is God's word as revealed in Holy Scripture incomplete?" No we know that it is complete. Isa 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. Those TV religious programs of course has thier own strategy of converting people or to gather people to join thier congregation. You write they all say "God told me this" or "God told me that" but this are personal claim that God revealed this to them. It thier own claim that God told them things to do but the question is are they saying the truth. For example the scripture stated: Mt 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Too many will say to Jesus Christ those things but questions is it is not Jesus claiming that they done this things but they claim it themselves. I am not saying that those TV religious program are wrong, but we can see thier fruit through thier fruits we can assure that they are truly with GOD, because Good tree will not have Evil fruit: Mt 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. God bless, Johnny |

454 | What type of "magic" do magi do? | Matt 2:1 | jlpangilinan | 27679
They are not magician, They are ("wise men") Magi. Easton Entry: It is not much referred to in the New Testament. The Magi mentioned in Mt 2:1-12 were not magicians in the ordinary sense of the word. They belonged to a religious caste, the followers of Zoroaster, the astrologers of the East. Simon, a magician, was found by Philip at Samaria (Ac 8:9-24); and Paul and Barnabas encountered Elymas, a Jewish sorcerer, at Paphos (Ac 13:6-12). At Ephesus there was a great destruction of magical books (Ac 19:18-19). |

455 | CHAPTER 6 LORD SAID AND 9 GOD SAID | Gen 2:3 | jlpangilinan | 27678
Easton Bible Dictionay Entry: Lord There are various Hebrew and Greek words so rendered. (1.) Heb Jehovah, has been rendered in the English Bible LORD, printed in small capitals. This is the proper name of the God of the Hebrews. The form "Jehovah" is retained only in Ex 6:3; Ps 83:18; Isa 12:2; 26:4, both in the Authorized and the Revised Version. God (A.S. and Dutch God; DA Gud; Ger. Gott), the name of the Divine Being. It is the rendering (1) of the Hebrew 'El, from a word meaning to be strong; (2) of 'Eloah, plural 'Elohim. The singular form, Eloah, is used only in poetry. The plural form is more commonly used in all parts of the Bible, The Hebrew word Jehovah (q.v.), the only other word generally employed to denote the Supreme Being, is uniformly rendered in the Authorized Version by "LORD," printed in small capitals. The existence of God is taken for granted in the Bible. There is nowhere any argument to prove it. He who disbelieves this truth is spoken of as one devoid of understanding (Ps 14:1). The arguments generally adduced by theologians in proof of the being of God are: (1.) The a priori argument, which is the testimony afforded by reason. (2.) The a posteriori argument, by which we proceed logically from the facts of experience to causes. These arguments are, (a) The cosmological, by which it is proved that there must be a First Cause of all things, for every effect must have a cause. (b) The teleological, or the argument from design. We see everywhere the operations of an intelligent Cause in nature. (c) The moral argument, called also the anthropological argument, based on the moral consciousness and the history of mankind, which exhibits a moral order and purpose which can only be explained on the supposition of the existence of God. Conscience and human history testify that "verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth." The attributes of God are set forth in order by Moses in Ex 34:6-7. (see also De 6:4; 10:17; Nu 16:22; Ex 15:11; 33:19; Isa 44:6; Hab 3:6; Ps 102:26; Job 34:12.) They are also systematically classified in Re 5:12; 7:12. God's attributes are spoken of by some as absolute, i.e., such as belong to his essence as Jehovah, Jah, etc.; and relative, i.e., such as are ascribed to him with relation to his creatures. Others distinguish them into communicable, i.e., those which can be imparted in degree to his creatures: goodness, holiness, wisdom, etc.; and incommunicable, which cannot be so imparted: independence, immutability, immensity, and eternity. They are by some also divided into natural attributes, eternity, immensity, etc.; and moral, holiness, goodness, etc. Seven This number occurs frequently in Scripture, and in such connections as lead to the supposition that it has some typical meaning. On the seventh day God rested, and hallowed it (Ge 2:2-3). The division of time into weeks of seven days each accounts for many instances of the occurrence of this number. This number has been called the symbol of perfection, and also the symbol of rest. "Jacob's seven years' service to Laban; Pharaoh's seven fat oxen and seven lean ones; the seven branches of the golden candlestick; the seven trumpets and the seven priests who sounded them; the seven days' siege of Jericho; the seven churches, seven spirits, seven stars, seven seals, seven vials, and many others, sufficiently prove the importance of this sacred number" (see Le 25:4; 1Sa 2:5; Ps 12:6; 79:12; Pr 26:16; Isa 4:1; Mt 18:21-22; Lu 17:4). The feast of Passover (Ex 12:15-16), the feast of Weeks (De 16:9), of Tabernacles (De 13:15), and the Jubilee (Le 25:8), were all ordered by seven. Seven is the number of sacrifice (2Ch 29:21; Job 42:8), of purification and consecration (Le 27:34,34; 8:11,33; 14:9,51), of forgiveness (Mt 18:21-22; Lu 17:4), of reward (De 28:7; 1Sa 2:5), and of punishment (Le 26:21,24,28; De 28:25). It is used for any round number in such passages as Job 5:19; Pr 26:16,25; Isa 4:1; Mt 12:45. It is used also to mean "abundantly" (Ge 4:15,24; Le 26:24; Ps 79:12). |

456 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | jlpangilinan | 27597
Rextar, How can we sure that the picture we have is the true Jesus Christ? If the picture that you have the one who used by the catholic church, Im sure it is not Jesus Christ. 1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 1Co 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. Apostle paul taught us that if the man have a long hair it is a shame, I dont think Jesus Christ will allow Himself to have a long hair and not cutting it as an example. Why do we have to have a kind of picture? Bible taught us to worship Him in Spirit and truth: Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God bless, Johnny |

459 | Measured them with a line? | 2 Sam 8:2 | jlpangilinan | 27493
Easton Bible Dictionary Entry on "LINE" or "Cord" Cord frequently used in its proper sense, for fastening a tent (Ex 35:18; 39:40), yoking animals to a cart (Isa 5:18), binding prisoners (Jg 15:13; Ps 2:3; 129:4), and measuring ground (2Sa 8:2; Ps 78:55). Figuratively, death is spoken of as the giving way of the tent-cord (Job 4:21. "Is not their tent-cord plucked up?" R.V.). To gird one's self with a cord was a token of sorrow and humiliation. To stretch a line over a city meant to level it with the ground (La 2:8). The "cords of sin" are the consequences or fruits of sin (Pr 5:22). A "threefold cord" is a symbol of union (Ec 4:12). The "cords of a man" (Ho 11:4) means that men employ, in inducing each other, methods such as are suitable to men, and not "cords" such as oxen are led by. Isaiah (Isa 5:18) says, "Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope." This verse is thus given in the Chaldee paraphrase: "Woe to those who begin to sin by little and little, drawing sin by cords of vanity: these sins grow and increase till they are strong and are like a cart rope." This may be the true meaning. The wicked at first draw sin with a slender cord; but by-and-by their sins increase, and they are drawn after them by a cart rope. Henderson in his commentary says: "The meaning is that the persons described were not satisfied with ordinary modes of provoking the Deity, and the consequent ordinary approach of his vengeance, but, as it were, yoked themselves in the harness of iniquity, and, putting forth all their strength, drew down upon themselves, with accelerated speed, the load of punishment which their sins deserved." |

460 | I agree But......... | Rom 1:18 | jlpangilinan | 27375
I think it is very clear in the verse 25 "who change the truth of God into a lie" Because they are talking of Idols worshipers and evildoers who worships creature more than God. They change "truth" of God into a lie. They change "truth" of God of Being God and replace it with Idols. Ro 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Ro 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 26. Ro 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. I hope it would helps. God bless, Johnny |
