3021 | Belief in All of Jesus | Mark 10:18 | EdB | 11379
Isa to answer your first question Jesus was the Messiah and here he gives you an example of a Messiah. Jesus was not a mere prophet He was God among men. John 10:11-13 "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12"He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13"He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep. Second question was Jesus the last prophet no but all must pass this test as Paul stated. Galatians 1:8-9 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! Doesn’t leave much room for Mohammed does it? You have been lied to I pray for you Ed |

3022 | non-christians | John 10:29 | EdB | 11377
Yes! Isa Jesus clearly said He was the door. There is no other way to the father. He said you had to believe in Him and He would provide the way. Unlike Islam where you have to earn admittance Christ paid the price, your ticket has been bought all you have to do is believe that He paid the price. See I'm not driven by any religious laws, yes I live by some by to me they make my life easier more enjoyable to live, they don't oppress and hold me down like the laws and commands of Islam. See Isa your in a bad place. You believe in God (Allah) but don’t believe in Christ. If you die and your right no problem. However if you die and your wrong, you have a big problem. Christians on the other hand believe in God and Christ. If we die and Jesus was a lie, nothing he said conflicted with God’s law so we are in the same boat as everyone else. However if Jesus wasn’t a lie (which I know He is not) then when we die we have salvation and life. You have been lied to my friend you follow the teaching of a man that had a personal agenda. He wanted if nothing else worship or to be revered. Christians follow a man that wanted nothing other than those that follow Him to Love the Lord God with all their Hart and all their soul. And to love one another as they love themselves. See the contrast? One was looking for fame, fortune, and approval of men. The other was looking for those that would love God above all else and love other the same. I pray for you for in that split second you will know Christ is Lord and you have been deceived. But again it will be too late. Something further to think about now you can not stand before God and say no one told me. Because I just did. I’m as serious as your next breath my friend you stand without excuse. I continue to pray for you Ed |

3023 | lenght of age for humans,by the lord? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 11370
Hi Waiting First rule of Bible understanding, we know God never lies, therefore if you read something that seems to conflict then your making an incorrect assumption somewhere. Here we have a classic example of such a conflict. Genesis says 120 years and yet we know many that lived longer. Therefore Genesis can't be, as we assumed, placing a limit on man's life. Then the question is what is Genesis 6:3 talking about? Most scholars believe that God is saying He is feed up with man and will give him only 120 more years to live until He brings the flood. The 120 is then the numbers of years man has left from this point in time until God destroys all but Noah and his family in the flood. Notice Psalm 90:10 Moses seems to be saying man’s life span will be 70 years or 80 at best yet again we know men and women that live longer. However in seems 70-80 years is a pretty good average. But how could we have some live longer? Look to Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” This is the commandment with promise. It says if we honor our parents God will add to our days. I submit to you God’s plan for man is to live between 70-80 years, but He (God) will add or subtract from this. I pray this answers your question. Welcome to the forum Ed |

3024 | The Soul after Death | 2 Cor 5:6 | EdB | 11358
Hi Rocker Two verses first. 2 Cor. 5:6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 2 Cor. 5:8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. In these two verses Paul tells us if we are in our bodies (alive here on earth) we are absent from Christ, but if we are absent from our bodies (dead) we are present with Christ. Jesus as you know is in Heaven at the right hand of God the Father. Therefore we can conclude that when we die we (our spirits go to be with Christ in heaven) The passage you refer to about dead rising first is 1 Thes. 4:16 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” This passage is generally referred to as a description of the rapture when Jesus calls froth the bodies of the Saints. You see our spirits will be in heaven upon death but our bodies remain behind. At the rapture our bodies will rise imperishable and perfect and we will re-inhabit them to live forever within them, again in Jesus’ presence. I hope this answers your questions if not just let us know how we can help. Be blessed and welcome to the forum Ed |

3026 | Do All Things Work Together For Good? | Rom 8:28 | EdB | 11231
Steve you forget the last part of this passage. To whose who are called according to His purpose. If God is supreme, if God is sovereign, then we also have to yield to his purpose. Evidently all those bad things you listed served God’s purpose, maybe not ours, but certainly God’s. Since God is supreme should we then even question Him? |

3027 | Why Jesus prays to his Father | John 10:29 | EdB | 11228
Isa You have no interest at all of seeking truth you just want trout the Quran and Islam. Islam teaches it is alright to send children and youth on suicide missions, Islam teaches it is okay to keep women oppressed and downtrodden, Islam teaches hate not love, Islam teaches if you can't convert them to Islam kill them. Islam teaches you have an angry God one that is waiting for you to make a mistake. Islam teaches Jews are not God’s chosen people when God repeatedly tell us they are. Islam teaches Jews have no right to the promised land, when in fact God gave them the land. Islam teaches it okay to kill women and babies and blame it on the Jews to pervert world opinion. To defend against that would be to recognize Islam of having some validity. So I will not! One thing that really bothers me is the fact that a split second after you die you are going to realize how deceived you are. Unfortunately it will be then too late. That my Islamic friend tears my heart out. |

3028 | that they may be one as we are one | Mark 10:18 | EdB | 11151
Isa No there is no middle ground, either Jesus is God or the whole thing is a lie. We can't compromise, we can't distort. Jesus is God or Jesus is a lie. God clearly said there is one God, Deut. 6:4 "Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; State it anyway you want, but unless it comes up Jesus and God are one and there is one God you have a lie. Sorry but there is no compromise! And remember this He loves you and so do I! Ed |

3029 | Father in heaven | Mark 10:18 | EdB | 11127
Isa How is possible to talk to yourself? Yet you do it all the time I imagine (at least I do). How is possible to call Jesus an Apostle of God yet think he lied, yet you do. Jesus clearly said of Himself that He and God were one. John 10:30. He is either lying or He really was. To prove He really was He said He would be killed and buried and three days later He would arise. Isa that is exactly what he did. John chapter 18-20. |

3030 | Father | John 10:29 | EdB | 11125
Isa You said when you asked the question, I responded to, that you weren’t questioning the trinity. Now you are attempting to do just that. In answer to your question John 10:29. In the trinity God (the Father) is supreme to the Son (Jesus) however since the come together with the Holy Spirit to complete the Trinity they are one. In John 10:9 Jesus refers to Himself as the Door or gate and you can only approach the Father through Him. God is holy we can not come into His presence in our sinful state. We need to be cleansed, Jesus provides the cleansing, hence to reach the Father we must pass through Jesus. We must believe by faith. Do not lose yourself in things of God that are to wonderful to completely comprehend. Trust what you see. In Mark 1:8-11 we see all three aspects of the trinity. “Jesus being baptized, the Holy Spirit descending as a dove, and the father’s voice from heaven saying this is my son in whom I am well pleased.” Notice there was many witnesses present and if this were not true secular history would have recorded this attempted lie. I know the Quran teaches Jesus was a great prophet, if that be true then we have to believe what Jesus said, as no great prophet would lie. He said “I and the Father are one.” John 10:30. Also note John 14:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Isa the God of the Christians offers forgiveness, love and acceptance. He doesn’t want to beat you down or weigh your life. He wants to love you and to have you love him. You do not have to fear Him but accept Him for what He is, the one that so loved you that He laid down his life for you. He does not hold a sword above your head ready to fall at any moment but rather he extends his arms to you. Jesus die that you might live, that is why he calls Himself a door, a gateway, he is the door the gateway to life and life abundantly. God is not angry God wants you to come to Him as a child to a Father. He wants to love you and tell you your special to Him, so special He gave all that He had for you, Jesus gave His life. Be blessed my friend! Ed |

3031 | ministry.what do i do after highschool? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 11121
First question do you have a call to ministry? Is there anything else you would be happy doing? If there is do it! Is this something you just can’t stop thinking about? Understand ministry is not a vocation, a profession, it isn’t a job, nor is it a career path, it must become your life style. You must be willing to eat, sleep, be totally consumed by it. If you answered yes to the first and third question and no to the second and understand and agree with the last statement. Then I tell you, talk to your Pastor, get his support, approval and guidance. You should get an education. You didn’t say what you wanted to do in ministry but most every denomination or independent work wants/requuires some training to enter most every field of ministry. Whether you like it or not, unfortunately the church is ran by humans and they judge by outside appearances. Therefore they look at credentials and academic achievements. If you have a denominational college consider attending since that will be a real advantage in your efforts to get accepted by others in the ministry. If you have more questions or I can help further in any way please ask. Ed |

3032 | Were the Apostles theologians? | NT general Archive 1 | EdB | 11077
Interesting question! Definitions: Theologian - one versed in theology Theology – The study of the nature of God and religious truth, rational inquiry into religious questions. The proper place of Biblical theology is at the head of historical theology, where it shines as a center of light. Its ideal as a science is to present a clear, complete and comprehensive survey of the Biblical teachings. ISBE electronic form from Iexalt. Theologians today have the luxury to pontificate their theories, views, opinions and beliefs and it is usually accepted to be ‘fact’ based on the verbal dexterity of the pontificator. Back to the question before us, “Were the Apostles Theologians?” I would say they were well versed in theology, but instead of studying it they created it and lived it. Unlike theologians today that incorporate various philosophies and personal dogmas into their exegesis of a particular Bible passage, the Apostles had to hold to the truth and live it to accomplish God’s call upon their lives. They lived theology they didn't study it! |

3033 | Father and Son | John 14:28 | EdB | 11049
Isa Hi let me help you in your pursuit of truth. First look at John 3:10-21 that passage will tell you why the Father (God) sent Jesus to Earth. Then move to John 5:17-30 this will explain the interrelationship between the Father (God) and the Son (Jesus). While your in the area check John 5:31-47 listing of four witnesses of Christ. Vv 31-35 is the witness of John the Baptist, v36 is the witness of works, vv37-38 Is God’s own witness, vv 39-47 is the witness of the scriptures themselves. In John 7:16-19 Jesus talks of the authority God has given him. In John 10:1-18 Jesus gives us a thumbnail sketch of Himself and his mission here on earth. Finally in John 10:25-30 Is Jesus’ testimony of himself and why God sent Him to earth. I pray this helps and if you have a question or want an explanation or more information just ask. Ed |

3034 | musical instruments or not? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 11001
You need to ask the Pastor this question. Some of us know that there are churches that do not hold with musical instruments. But unless you ask your Pastor and hear his explaination you do not know his heart on the matter. You need to know his heart if he is to be effective in pastoring you. You also have to have enough trust and confidence that he will give you truthful and correct answer. You need to know if you can receive from this Pastor. Whether your church holds to instruments or not really will have no effect on your salvation, but the fact you can or can not receive from your pastor may. Talk to your pastor.

3036 | What are the Methodists up to? | Numbers | EdB | 10893
This should not surprise anyone. About five years ago the Methodist women’s ministry hosted a conference dealing with the Goddess of wisdom (I can not recall the name they gave her). They formulated this idea from the book of Proverbs where wisdom is referred to in feminine gender. At the conference attended by a large number (I can not recall the actual number but I believe it to be in the thousands) of Methodist women they set an agenda to do just this. Modify Methodist material to pay homage to this goddess and the feminine gender. They concluded the conference serving communion of milk and honey. I was further mortified to find out some of the participants were in fact topless.
3037 | Is "pleading the blood" scriptural? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 10864
I learned something I never knew, that this term was contributed to Pentecostals only. I have heard and used it repeatedly and never thought about it. No it is not in the Bible and to me it is nothing more than a statement of my position in Christ. I am under the blood, therefore when something negative comes up in my life I plead the blood or verbally reinforce my position in Christ, that Jesus has given me the victory and what shall I fear for greater is He (Jesus) who is in me than he who is the world. When I do this I receive a peace and I'm comforted that I'm not along, but He is with me and sticks closer than a brother. |

3039 | LUCK - Satanic or Divine | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 10589
Hi Taby815 Nothing happens by chance especially for a Christian the word says, Psalm 37:23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Luck has nothing to do with it. I never heard the story about the demon and all and I believe it to be false, nonetheless a Christian shouldn't use the term luck since it simply doesn't exist. I hope this helps Be Blessed and it was real nice hearing from you Ed |
