2784 | Who's the "her" ? | Rev 18:4 | CDBJ | 239679
The millions of phony religions of the world i.e. the devil’s deceptive plan of salvation by works. Christianity is a grace operation and not a religion but a relationship with God the father through the Son Jesus the anointed one. John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 (NKJV) 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." 1 John 5:10-13 (NKJV) 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 2785 | Rapture | Rev 20:1 | CDBJ | 214127
Greetings, I have been a Christian for well over 40 years now since I trusted in the finished work of Christ, and up until about 15 years ago I have been a staunch believe in the pretribulation position although there have been many questions that didn’t quite add up. I came across a book called, “The Rapture Question Answered” by Robert Van Kampen, ISBN 0-8007-5631-2, who shortly after writing the Book went home to be with the Lord as though his job here on earth was finished. His book couples all of the different assumptions that believers have concerning, what we call the rapture, and he causes all of them to fit into a very plausible outcome. This is the only book that I have read on eschatology that has answered the basic problems that I have found in my favorite subject in the Bible, future events. I have read countless books on the subject and this is the only one that has tied everything together. It’s actually an offshoot of his first book called, “The Sign” which is quite lengthy but very informative for one who is an ardent student of eschatology and who likes to study and dig out truth. There are no contradictions in God’s Word and until one finds the answers that cause all of scripture to fit, together in harmony they have not found truth. If in reading this book one “skips around”, they will not understand the truth it contains! I would consider it a must read for all believers, especially in the day and age that we find ourselves in! Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 (A) Let no man deceive you by any means: CDBJ |

2786 | Who are the Gog and Magog? | Rev 20:8 | CDBJ | 21371
(Gog and Magog) The prophetic name of the land from which Gog (Antichrist) will arise and establish the eighth and final beast empire of Satan, which will be composed of descendants of all of the previous beast empires except the first two; specifically the land where the Germanic descendants of Magog, Noah's grandson through Japheth, settled. (Ez. 38) (From the Sign Ministries) This is a very short answer for now but I hope it helps. CDBJ
2787 | Who are the Gog and Magog? | Rev 20:8 | CDBJ | 21374
EdB greetings; It just hit me, that you said lookup. I was just thinking, how many times have believers heard this and even used it, I myself being one. Yet I wonder how many actually realize what will transpire before we are actually told to look up, as in Luke 21:28? I think that we often use this as Christian jargon, at least I have, but the context of this saying is very tragic to say the least. If all would read from Luke 21:5-36, as I did, and consider the timing of this often quoted verse it would be an eye opener. Thanks for the comment, it has started me thinking. CDBJ
2788 | Who are the Gog and Magog? | Rev 20:8 | CDBJ | 21457
EdB; I liked your answer, that is a classic and one that I will have to remember. A lot of believers don't realize that God has promised us eternal life and it starts the moment that we believe in Jesus Christ and trust Him for our salvation. God didn't promise us a bed of roses down here but He does promise that we wouldn't be alone in out struggle through psychical life. Fox's Book of Martyrs sure makes this clear, and I think the worst is yet to come. There are actually more martyrs in this day and age then were in the days mentioned in the Book of Martyrs, according to statistics. Paul explains something to us in 2 Thes. 1:4-10 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. |

2791 | Who does "the dead" include? | Rev 20:12 | CDBJ | 179234
Hello Alison63 and welcome to the forum. Things can really get twisted around when we start to assume as you suggested. You stated with regards to Rev. 20:15, “assumes that there could have been someones whose name WAS written in the book of life, therefore a saved person. Any comments?” Here is one you can think on: It’s always “assumed” that there are no believers at the great white throne judgment because they aren’t actually named but “if there will be”, verse Rev. 20:15 could cover them, if that is the case. Since believers don’t actually face a judgment for “condemnation”, but a judgment for rewards, as it were, where are the believers that come out of the 1000 year reign of Christ to be judged for their rewards? The only judgment mentioned after the millennium is over is the white throne judgment, and the “dead” standing there we know will all be judged out of the books which are the books of works. "Two categories" of books, one set of books contains works of those who are bound for fire the other “book” contains those that will live forever with God. Since we are assuming, then let’s say that there are “living” saints standing there as well to be judged, they are the believers born during the millennium, and they are judged as well for their rewards but the fact is their names are written in the book of life. Case and point; Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. It can sure get sticky and involved when assuming, enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

2792 | What are the books of Revelation 20:12? | Rev 20:12 | CDBJ | 232169
Greetings, The books are the books of the deeds or works that unbelievers are relying on to gain the approbation or approval of God and they are the antithesis to what Jesus did on the cross for their sins. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; There won’t be any sins mentioned at the white throne judgment, they were all paid for by Christ as the lame of God which “takes away” the sin of the world. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The only sin that Jesus didn’t pay for is the sin of rejecting Jesus as the Messiah and this one sin will condemn one to an eternal separation from God in the lake of fire! On the other hand those that have placed the “totality of their faith” in the finished work of Christ have their names written in the book of life! Have a great day, CDBJ |

2793 | Text out of context for our feelings? | Rev 21:1 | CDBJ | 157742
Almost every funeral that I have attend, where a believer has gone home to be with the Lord, the one officiating will say; “Brother or sister, so and so, has gone to a place where there is no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain”. The conditions spoken of in Revelation are brought out to those in attendance at the funeral, as immediate conditions for the deceased. In “my” estimation, the situation is being placed out of setting and it isn’t correct to infer that the one who has just passed away will actually be enjoying "all" of the benefits mentioned in the verse in Revelation 21:4 upon their arrival with the Lord. Rev. 21:1-5 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Are there any thoughts that would suggest otherwise on the timing of the events taking place in Rev. 21:1-5 The way I see it, verse 4 can’t precede verses 1-3 and the key to the timing is found in the first 3 verses. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

2794 | Text out of context for our feelings? | Rev 21:1 | CDBJ | 157747
Greetings Makarios, Would it be safe to assume, considering the content in Rev. 20:4, that there will possibly be some anguish in heaven before such time as the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Verses to consider, Rev. 6:9-10 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: [10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? There are other verses that precede the action mentioned in Rev.20 by believers that are no longer mortal. 2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 1 Cor. 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. [14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. I included the last three verses to point out the word suffer and the fact that this suffering happens to those that are on the other side of mortality. I think these verses point out the misconstrued idea that just because we are in the presence of the Lord. Paul stated, 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. In the present with the Lord doesn’t mean that Rev. 20:4 is in effect yet at physical death of a believer. Have a great day, CDBJ |

2795 | what does second death mean? | Rev 21:8 | CDBJ | 25043
Toto, I think the answer to your question lies within the understanding of the word death in the language of the original Koine Greek. The word that the English word death was translated from was the word THANATOS; it actually means separation. In physical death, the soul is separated from the body. In spiritual death, the soul is separated from God as in the case of all unbelievers even while they are alive physically. When we are born into this world we are born physically alive but spiritually dead, or separated from God; hence the need to be born again. At the point of physical death all unbeliever's souls go to a place of temporary abode, hell; this is spiritual death realized by the unbeliever, death number one. There is a time in the future when all those in hell will stand before God for judgment. The bases of this judgment will be their work, which will be found lacking in the balance compared to the work of Christ. They will be separated from God for a second time into the lake of fire forever. Thus, this is the second separation from the presence of God or spiritual death number two. It is my firm opinion that after seeing God face to face that this encounter will make the lake of fire much worse just knowing what they missed out on. It will be Jesus doing this judging because the father judges no man John 5:22. I hope this helps, CDBJ
2796 | How do you know you have been blessed? | Rev 22:14 | CDBJ | 131010
There are verves of Scripture that tell us we are blessed if certain things have taken place. We aren’t necessarily blessed because we feel a certain way; we are blessed in reality because God has said so in His Word. Examples Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Ephes. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Every one that is trusting in Jesus Christ, and the work He did on the cross, for their eternal life, are considered to be blessed of God. 2798 | Conjecture or opening scripture? | Rev 22:19 | CDBJ | 160430
Greetings Loobylight, The book of Revelation is the only book in the Bible that carries a curse for messing up its contents. Rev. 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
