2743 | Where is Hell | Revelation | CDBJ | 206682
This might answer your question. Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. By adding these verses together it informs us of the location of Hades. 1 Peter 3:18-19 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Luke 16:19-24 19"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' That is kind of a round about way of finding the location but I think the guy who said it is really fishing to say the least!! Have fun on the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings Aileen, Could you express your take on what it means to believe in Jesus; this could be the reason for your misunderstanding on having one’s name written in the book of life? Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

2746 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | CDBJ | 220464
Hi Again Aileen, When the Bible speaks of believing in Jesus, Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. What, in “your estimation, is it actually asking me to do if anything when compared to the following verse? James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. CDBJ |

2747 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | CDBJ | 220499
Hi Aileen, I didn’t mean to get you all confused, lets try this a different way. This is hypothetical, but lets say if you were to die tomorrow and you found yourself standing face to face with the Lord and He were to say to you; Aileen why should I let you come into my Kingdom? What do you think you would say to Him? That’s an awesome thought and you are the only one that knows what you yourself would personally say. Now I haven’t used scripture to put you on the spot as it were, so how would you answer or what would be your reply? Don’t panic, it’s just hypothetical anyway, CDBJ |

2748 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | CDBJ | 220524
Greetings Aileen, Your statement in part, “I would tell the Lord I have believed in Him all of my life” That’s a rather hard thing to do since we are actually born physically alive but at the same time we are born spiritually dead thus the need to be born again. There has to be a point a some time in your life when your experienced the following John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Couple that with the following. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Are you “absolutely sure” that you would have eternal life with God after you take your last breath on this side of heaven or is this something that you don’t have “absolute positive proof of as yet”, and you are hoping for? Your connotation of the word repent might make a big difference with regards to the Bible’s meaning and it’s better to be safe then sorry. What is your estimation of the word repent? Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Have you experienced the action of the previous verse? Many “assume” that they have salvation because of something they have done but they aren’t positively sure when it come right down to it, i.e. they haven’t received the proof of the witness of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:10 (A) He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; They are literally sealed by God Himself when they truly believe. Ephes. 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, Just trying to help, CDBJ |

2749 | The Book of Revelation | Revelation | CDBJ | 222337
That’s what its saying. Rev. 7:5-8 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. Romans 11:25-27 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 2750 | bible quote please | Revelation | CDBJ | 222411
Greetings DannyD and welcome to the forum, In answer to your question I would say that the following verse would likely be the most pertinent when it come to telling the truth from “my point of view”. Liars being those that don’t tell the truth, as it were; God put them in a very precarious category! Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. It is generally understood that the forum doesn't get involved with home work assignments seeing that this would be a deception: I hope you haven't caused me to go against this concept? CDBJ |

2752 | Rev 22:12 and post millennial judgement? | Revelation | CDBJ | 235973
Greetings, Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV) 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, Seeing as how this is the case when will those that are born during the millennium be judged seeing that they will be born with an old sin nature yet many will believed in Jesus? The only judgment mentioned in Scripture after that period is the white throne judgment, even though the dead unbelievers are judged then it is possible the those that believe in Christ during the thousand year reign might be judged at that time as well out of the book of life and for their works. Believers alive before the rapture will be judged for their works after the rapture and are judged at the (BEMA) seat of Christ and their works will be tried by fire, i.e. wood hay and stubble or gold silver and precious stones; this judgment is for rewards only. Christ says that He comes quickly and my reward is with me. Have a great day, CDBJ |

2753 | Rev 22:12 and post millennial judgement? | Revelation | CDBJ | 236002
Greetings, If it’s OK with you, in order not to cause confusion, I would like to answer these one at a time? First question to answer; “is there a difference between being judged for you works, and being rewarded for your works in Rev 22:12? I’m not sure. Also I don’t know what (BEMA) means.” My intent was to show that every born again believer in Christ will stand before Him to be rewarded for that which was done while still in the flesh. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV) 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. This is a judgment for rewards, (Koine Greek “BEMA” is like the reward stand at the Olympic games), not for our sins, they were all judged at the cross and Jesus paid for those and not only ours but for the whole world. 1 John 2:2 (NKJV) 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. The rewards for our lives while as believers here in this life will be rewarded as follows. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 (NKJV) 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Those that haven’t put the totality of their faith alone in Christ alone are already judged and this is known before they die physically and God’s Word tells exactly why. John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 (NKJV) 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." Have a great day, CDBJ |

2757 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | CDBJ | 16894
I agree with this one and so does Psalm 119:160 that says we have to use all of God's Word to establish truth about any particular doctrine. We just can't pull out what we want and use it, if other parts of God's Word say something to the contrary. There has to be a common ground where there is no contradiction between verses, if our doctrine is correct and true. God's word doesn't have any mistakes in it! CDBJ

Hello LC133 Here is a question for you. What happened to the couple, in Acts 5:1-11 when they decided to play a little game of deception with the things that belonged to the church? Did the lord look on their deception with favor and how did HE show that they wouldn’t do it again? CDBJ |

2760 | Book of Life "will never be altered." | Rev 3:5 | CDBJ | 67955
Greetings Kalos, the way I see Rev. 13:8 is in agreement with your view and that being that only the names of believers; however as to when they were written in the book may leave much dispute depending on the translation used. Rev. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev. 13:8 And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. Someone made reference to ones name being omitted in Rev. 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. There again it doesn’t actually say name but his part, which could tie in with another verse. 1 Cor. 3:15 If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire. In essence what it is conveying to me is that the individual in question will be saved, he just won’t have anything to go along with it. Kind of like everybody standing around in nice white robes and he will be standing there in his B.V.D.s (God shall take away his part) This wouldn’t even be necessary if he wasn’t there in the first place. What got him there, as with all, was believing in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, not something he did with reference to God’s written Word, by changing or omitting. Just because the thesis is true in a verse does not necessarily mean that the antithesis is true as well. Rev. 3:5 'He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels. |
