262 | What prophesies are referred to? | Gen 3:15 | prayon | 9311
I will put enmity between.....and hers is indeed referring to the Virgin birth. "And you will strike his heel" is referring to Jesus' death on the cross, but he will strike your head probably refers to Armageddon; the whole prophecy referring to the end times and what God will do to Satan.
263 | Where's the Ark now? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9213
Just a note Nolan - The Jews have a tradition that before Nebuchadnezzar plundered the Temple the priests his the Ark and that its hiding place will be revealed by the Messiah at his coming. His knowledge of it will, they say, be a proof of his claims.
264 | Should a Christian be a Mason? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9127
Brandi - You have proved my point better than I have! Anything that states "the Bible in itself is a symbol - that is, a part taken for the whole" or that the "Bible is not more than one of the Great Lights, and never has been" is an organization that Christians should NEVER be a part of. These teachings are not of God and if it is not of God the only other alternative is that they are of Satan. I could back up what I am saying with numerous scriptures and will be glad to supply them if you like. prayon
265 | Why did Moses strike the rock? | Num 20:11 | prayon | 9069
Steve, I'm sorry if I was misleading. I never meant that God has a room where he hides our missed blessings. What I was refering to was when Moses stuck the rock he angered God and lost his chance of being blessed by entering into the promised land. The question I asked was just a thought question. If Moses missed his blessing of the promised land because he angered God by what he did - how many blessing have we missed because we have messed up?
266 | Should a Christian be a Mason? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9067
Brandi, I can't debate whether any of the above were Masons because I just don't know. I'm sure that many can live a life that appears to be Christian and most if not all believe in God. But I do know that Christians should NOT be Masons. Acording to the 'blood oaths' they take, which in itself go against the bible, they are not allowed to tell you anything concerning the rituals, oaths, etc. I have given 2 examples of evidence in my above posting "Absolutely not". I encourage you to read them with an open mind then go to the web site that I have listed. I think you will see that what they can't tell you about the Mason's can harm them in the end. Please read the information on the website. prayon |

267 | Why did Moses strike the rock? | Num 20:11 | prayon | 9025
Makes you wonder what blessings we have lost because of disobedience...... prayon
268 | Why the dispute? | Jude 1:9 | prayon | 9024
The body of some commentators view the body of Moses as symbolic, the body of Moses "being intended to represent the Mosiac law and institutions" (Zech 3:1), in the same manner in which modern Christians call the church "the body of Christ". Some also say in the Hebrew books that Satan disputed the burial, claiming the body because of the blood of the Egyptian who Moses slew, and because of the leaders sin at Meribah (Ex 17:5-6, Num 20:5, 8-9). prayon
269 | What became of Moses rod? | Ex 4:2 | prayon | 9023
If your interpretation is right then there are two rods with the Ark because Hebrews 9:4 states that Aaron's rod is preserved in the Ark. :o) prayon
270 | Mark, Couldn't of been God.... | Gen 18:2 | prayon | 8944
How can you misunderstand John 1:18; "No man hath seen God at any time" (KJV), "No one has ever seen God" (NRSV). Exo 33:23 also states tht no man shall see my face. According to Eerdmans Word Studies of the New Testament "The 'seeing' intended here is seeing of the divine essence rather than of the divine person". This can lead us to think that maybe it was His shekinah glory. The Everyman's Bible Commentary says that He has come to man through the one who has always been at the Fathers side. This usually designates Jesus Christ. I am led to believe that who they saw was Jesus Christ. To explain Exo 24:10 - isn't Jesus and God one? How would they of known the difference between Jesus and God?
271 | What is meant by the inspiration of the | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 8911
Mr. Moody was once asked whether he regarded the bible as inspired. His answer was brief and to the point - "I know the bible is inspired because it inspires me!" :o) prayon
272 | Why the number 7? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 8910
Greetings Nolan! I thought I would add a little more. The symbolism of 7 should also be traced back to the symbolism of its components, three and four, which represent divinity and humanity. Therefore, the number 7 represents the union between God and man. Ciero called it the "knot and cement of all things" because in the number 7 the spiritual and the natural world were comprehended in one idea. Isn't the number 7 awesome?!?!? prayon

275 | Should a Christian be a Mason? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 8879
Mark, the "weired out" you feel is the Holy Spirit inside you telling you that it is wrong. The "uneasy" feeling you get is the Holy spirit grieving. Please, with an open mind, for your family's sake, go to the web site I mentioned in my posting or the ones mentioned in Steve's. God Bless, prayon
276 | Yes, but how Nolan? | Joshua | prayon | 8623
Nolan, I do agree with your interpretation because it is the most logical given the evidence. I was leaning that way before I even asked the question. prayon
277 | What did Onesimus do? | Philemon | prayon | 8612
According to the Erdman's Bible Dictionary he stole from his master. In the letter Paul offers to pay Philemon back himself for any wrong. However in Vincent's word studies it just states that Onesimus had wronged his master and fled from him.
278 | Spirtual Gifts | Matt 7:13 | prayon | 8581
Please forgive me I always forget to give my reference. Some of the above was taken from "Speaking in Tongues" by John Edwards. |
