201 | Are gays/lesbians bound for hell? | Rom 5:8 | prayon | 41269
Greetings again Marquita, You are being very wise in recognizing Satan for what he is - a liar. He indeed will use any scheme or trickery in the book to try and get you to rationalize that you are not sinning. You said that you feel as though you are happy where you are at, and I applaud you for realizing that this is Satan making you think this. God will give you the strength that you need to get away from this lifestyle. Pray hard for that strength Marquita. You can and must resist acting upon the desires to remain in this lifestyle. Consciously avoid places or activities you know will kindle your temptations. This includes breaking the relationship you are in now and putting and keeping a good distance from this person. Never ever under estimate the power of Satan. Get involved in a church that is bible based and knows homosexuality is a sin. Find a professional Christian counselor or pastorial counselor that you can receive help from. What you are in is a type of addiction and you need counseling to break free of this addiction. Continuse to remain scared of Satan. It can be a driving force. I don't know if it will help you or not but I read a book once and whenever I start to sin by telling a little lie or getting back more that I should by a cashier it comes to mind and I easily have the strength to say no to Satan. For me it was a "scared straight" book. The book is called "A Divine Revelation of Hell". If you are interested in it I am sure you can get it from any Christian bookstore. Again my prayers are with you in your battle. You can also e me at my email address that is listed in my profile if you would like. prayon |

202 | Are gays/lesbians bound for hell? | Rom 5:8 | prayon | 41233
Greetings Marquita, Homosexuality is considered and acceptable practice by many in our worlk today - even by some churches. But society does not set the standard for God's law. Many homosexuals believe that their desires are normal and they have a right to express them but I refer you to the verses below: 1Cor 6:9,10: Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders not thieves not the greedy not drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. Lev 18:22: Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Lev 20:13: If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. Rom 1:26-28: For this God gave them up to degrading passions, Their woman exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women were consumed with passion for one another....And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done. God's plan for natural sexual relationshops is His ideal for His creation. Unfortunately, sin distorts the natural use of God's gifts. Sin means not only denying God, but also denying the way we are made. Homosexuality is strictly forbidden in scripture (see above scriptures). However, the good news is that God is willing to receive anyone who comes to Him in faith. God can and will forgive sexual sins just as He forgives any other sin. But when we come to Him we must put away our former ways and walk in His ways. I know I am being blunt and may sound uncaring or condescending but I do not mean to. You are a sister in Christ and with that comes my love in Christ. But I feel that a issue is either black or white. There is no gray area. Suppose that a murderer or a thief or a liar, or a swindler or a slanderer believed in God and studied His word religiously and went to church each week but still continued to murder or swindle, or steal, or lie, or slander: do you believe that he should or will inherit the kingdom of God? Luke 13:24-27 tell us that the door to heaven is narrow. It also tells us that Many will cry "Lord, open the door" and you will say 'But we ate and drank with you' and He will reply, 'I tell you, I do not know you. Go away, all you who do evil.' In your question you stated that you were concerned. I believe this to be the Holy Spirit at work in you convicting you of your lifestyle. Please let your prayers be that God show you the truth Himself and that He lead you to the place that He wants you to be at. You will be in my prayers. prayon |

203 | WAS JESUS FORSAKEN BY HIS FATHER? | Matt 27:46 | prayon | 41039
Greetings Ed, You have made some good points. At the moment when the sin of the world was laid upon Jesus spiritual fellowship with the Father and the Holy Spirit was broken. "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf" (2Cor 5:21). Where ever there is sin there is seperation from the Father. He had to of been seperated from the Father in some manner. How could one be in sin and still be one with God? I agree Jesus never acted in sin but He bore our sins. Sin is seperation from God. Our sins seperate us from God therefore when He took our sins (or 'seperateness' from God) He had to feel the same 'seperateness'. Maybe this is another one of those "ohhhhh soooo" questions. prayon |

204 | WAS JESUS FORSAKEN BY HIS FATHER? | Matt 27:46 | prayon | 41025
Greetings Searcher, Yes, in a sense God did forsake Him. When the sins of the world were laid upon Him during the hours of darkness He was alienated from God, just as sin in our lives alienates us from God. God saves us from our sin when we call on Him to do so. Jesus suffered in silence, bearing the weight Himself. He did not call out to Him until the cry in verse 46. Once He made that cry the Father came to Him and took away His burden. prayon

210 | For Heisthe1 a question. | Ephesians | prayon | 34645
Good Morning, I agree with you that depression is not of God. That wasn't exactly what I meant by my question. Many people think that depression is just a state of mind, that anyone who is depressed can just snap out of it whenever they want. What I was wondering is if you think depression is a state of mind or if it is a disease process such as diabetes? prayon

212 | having to work the sabbath | Matt 12:1 | prayon | 33810
No I am not. Exo 20:9-10 tells us that we are to work 6 days and the 7th day is to be a day of rest which we are to dedicate to the Lord. This day does not have to be on Sunday if you can not dedicate this day to the Lord because of work. We are told to take one day a week and dedicate a day to the Lord to worship Him and reflect on His goodness and mercy. I, as a nurse, have to do this on other days besides Sunday. prayon
213 | having to work the sabbath | Matt 12:1 | prayon | 33806
Greetings Dino, I disagree. The 10 commandments state "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy", (Exo 20:8-11). We are no more rid of this commandment than we are any other commandment. We are still to remember the sabbath and we are to keep it holy. The reference you are referring to in Matt. 12 concerns the words that the priests had with Jesus because he allowed His disciples to pick grain on the Sabbath. Ordinary people were not allowed to do any work on the Sabbath, not even light a fire. The priest's work however doubled on the Sabbath (see Num 28:9-10). Therefore what Jesus was saying is that God's service takes precedence over Sabbath rules. The argument is that if priests who work in the temple on the Sabbath are guiltless because they further the worship of God, how much more are the disciples guiltless because they are serving Christ and obeying Him in their actions on the Sabbath. This exchange in no way deletes the Sabbath. prayon |

214 | everyone saw the cloud and bowed down! | Ex 33:10 | prayon | 33652
Greetings Searcher! The pillar of cloud that came down was the presence of God. This is what the people bowed down to. The cloud was definitly needed because if the cloud had not been there all would of died because no one can see the presence of God and live. prayon

216 | Will unbelievers be raised from Sheol? | Rev 21:8 | prayon | 31917
I still think that you have grouped together the unbelievers (thosse who have heard and don't believe) with those who have never heard. We are not referring to the unbelievers. prayon
217 | Will unbelievers be raised from Sheol? | Rev 21:8 | prayon | 31757
Joe Revelations says "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars"; what happens to those who were none of these? You can not believe in what you have never heard about or know nothing of. If you had never been told about God, knew nothing of Him, or never seen a bible how are you to believe? I believe that if those who have never heard live a moral life God judges that. The above scripture you quoted states that "because that which is known to them". God is referring here to the ones who knew but didn't believe. We are talking of people who have not been made known not those who had the opportunity to listen but didn't. Our God is a merciful God - I can't believe he would condemn those who never had the opportunity to hear of Him if they lived an upright, godly life style.
218 | Who is the man in this verse? | Matt 22:11 | prayon | 29547
Emmaus, Can't be. Where as we in a church can not see a person's true heart God can. If his heart was not pure he would never make it to the receiving line. prayon
