181 | If any man destroys the temple | 1 Cor 3:16 | prayon | 55479
Greetings new creature, In my bible there is a footnote that says that these verses are a severe warning to any one who would try to interfere with or destroy the building of the church on the foundation of Christ. Since the body of Christ is the church possible it means that no one should try to defile the church body. prayon
182 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | prayon | 54384
Greetings, Tribulation: a time of trouble. It is regarded as a distinct period of unprecedented suffering, catastrophe, and persecution that will occur immediately preceding the eschatological deliverance of God and the final coming of Christ. (Eerdmans Bible Dictionary) I want to do some more research on your questions to make sure I answer you with scriptual references so I will answer them later. I am curious though, where are you trying to go with this thread? What was your motive for starting it? prayon |

183 | John 11:35 Why did Jesus wept | John 11:33 | prayon | 53525
Greetings, According to the MacArthur Study Bible His tears were not generated out of mourning since He was to raise Lazarus, but out of grief for a fallen world entangled in sin-caused sorrow and death. prayon

185 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | prayon | 53508
Greetings Tommy, First, John the Baptist came to prepare Jesus' way before Him "in the SPIRIT and POWER of Elijah" This does not mean that John the Baptist was Elijah returned. John the Baptist took Elijah's prophetic role, and like Elijah was known for bold uncompromising stand on the Word of God. Malachi (v. 4-5) prophesied that a prophet like Elijah would come. The witnesses will prophesy 1260 days, or 42 months, or 3 1/2 years. In addition the woman mentioned in Rev 12:6 will also be hidden in the wilderness 1260 days or 3 1/2 years; one half of the tribulation. Therefore the tribulation will last 7 years. The beginning of the tribulation will be when the Antichrist signs a peace treaty that will last 3 1/2 years or the first half of the tribulation. The two men refered to in Zechariah 4:13-14 are the two men who occupied the supreme positions of the kingly and priestly offices at the time of Zechariah, they are not the 2 witnesses refered to in Revelation. The two witnesses are not symbolic. They have been selected by God and given special power and authority to preach the message of judgement and salvation during the second half of the tribulation. Hope this answers some of the questions for you. Please let me know if you have more questions. prayon |

186 | muslims - 144,000? | Revelation | prayon | 53506
Greetings forever, I apologise for taking so long. The 7 kings are the 7 kingdoms not 7 prophets. The Beast has 7 heads which represent 7 mountains and 7 kingdoms. The 7 mountains are the 7 hills of the city of Rome, in other words, the center of the beasts power is Rome. The 7 kingdoms: (5 have fallen, one is, one yet to come) are as follows: The 5 that have fallen are Assyria, Egypt, neo-Babylonian, Medopersia, and the Greek government. The "one that is" is the Roman empire now. The "one to come" is the future revival of Rome with the Roman Antichrist. Hope this clarifies for you. prayon |

189 | What is spiritual knocked down? | 1 Kin 8:11 | prayon | 52415
Greetings Hank! For the first time that I know of I have to disagree with you. I know many people who have been "slain in the spirit" numerous times. It was not a staged act. The only way I know of to describe it is that the Holy Spirit comes upon you so strongly that it puts you in a trance-like state. It can last for seconds to minutes. I will agree, however, that many on TV are staged as well as some in church, how many though only God knows. I will try to get you the scripture back up. agape, prayon

Also Steve, please be careful on who you say that to. It could lead a depressed person to think less of themselves than they already do and lead to suicide. prayon
195 | Does Mt. 22:39 assume self-love? | Matt 22:39 | prayon | 51132
Greetings Steve, I strongly disagree. First that she is incorrect. You must love yourself in order to love others. The key is the kind of love you have for yourself. The love you need is not one that is haughty and self centered, but a love for yourself that knows you are a good person and that you are worthy of Christ's love. Many people do not love themselves. I have been at that point myself. When you hate yourself you are definitly not thinking more of yourself than you ought!!! prayon |

197 | How were ppl saved before Jesus came? | Heb 11:6 | prayon | 49233
Thank you for your reply Chris pointing out the error in my answer. You are totally right when you stated that animal sacrifices could not take away the sin, they could only provide a temporary way to deal with sin until Jesus came to deal with it permanently. But God did forgive them by faith when they made their sacrifices. This practice looked forward to Christ's perfect sacrifice. prayon
198 | the ten virgins | Matt 25:1 | prayon | 44048
Greetings Mommapbs, I believe that those who miss the rapture will have a second chance. The bible tells us that 144,000 will never give into the beast. It also tells us that these people come from the 12 tribes of Isreal. All Jews have heard about Jesus Christ and yet refused to believe that He was the son of God. If what you said (that any one who has heard will not get a second chance to go to heaven), then the 144,000 would not be able to get into heaven. In addition Rev 9:9 tells us that "Blessed are those who are invited to the marrisage supper of the lamb". Through the process of elimination these people are believed to be the tribulation saints. All those who were raised in the rapture and all the OT and NT saints will be the bride of Christ, this only leaves the Tribulation believers. The wedding guests will join the bride and groom in fellowship for the next 1000 years. The guests will be made immortal after the 1000 year reign. 1Cor 15:53 tells us that the believers will be raised up and made immortal. Rev 20:5 says that the dead will be raised up from the tribulation will be judged. Anyone who becomes a believer after the rapture will go to heaven but will not be made immortal. I believe that the 5 virgins whose lamps were empty will be left at the tribulation but that they will have a second chance to get their act together and join us in heaven as the guests of the groom. I also believe that they will have a second chance because our God is a merciful God and a loving God that hates to see anyone perish. He gives all of us chance after chance when we mess up to redeem ourself. Why should it be any different later? Our God is an unchanging God. Hope this helps. prayon |

199 | who was Simon of Cyrene | Mark 15:21 | prayon | 41865
Greetings Jensen, I am referring to the man who was force to carry the cross of Jesus. The information came from a bible class I am taking. I am sorry the notes did not give a source for the information. Also read my answer to angel1. Hope this helps you to see where I was coming from. In Christ, prayon
200 | who was Simon of Cyrene | Mark 15:21 | prayon | 41721
Greetings, You can come to this conclusion because both of his sons recognized the Christian church and Paul mentions Rufus with warm affection (Romans 16:13). The sons were probably young at this time since Simon must of been young and fit enough to carry the cross. I doubt that the soldiers would of chosen an older man to carry the heavy cross. Simon had to of encouraged them in the Christian faith. prayon
