261 | "women keep silent in the churches" | 1 Cor 14:34 | prayon | 58989
Greetings Ed, I have heard that information from a lot of different sources. Maybe it isn't true but then maybe it is. Of course it is just a moot point. prayon
262 | "women keep silent in the churches" | 1 Cor 14:34 | prayon | 65639
Greetings Ronaldo, I agree, all those who are one in Christ are one with each other. It doesn't matter whether one is male or female - we are all one in Christ Jesus. I in no way promote women's lib where God's word is concerned. (I do however support women's lib in equal pay for the same job ect. :o) ) All flesh in Joel 2:28 does indicates all people will receive the Holy Spirit. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is preaching/pastor. This gift can and is given to women. Unfortunetly, many women pastors were not given that gift, but then many men pastors weren't either. prayon |

263 | what if a christian is married to non-ch | 2 Cor 6:14 | prayon | 146980
Greetings, When someone is married to an unbeliever God prefers that you stay in the marriage to be a "light" to the unbeliever - however God does not necessarily want us to remain in an abusive relationship either. We do not give council on the forum because the majority of the users do not have the training to council. What we recommend is that you go to your pastor or other certified Christian counselor. I am sorry that I could not be of more help to you. I will tell you this: REMEMBER! You are the child of a king! YOU are so important to Christ that He hung on a cross and died for you! Do not let the abusive names you are called enter into your mind, heart, or spirit for even a second. Rebuke them immediately! May God bless you with wisdom, strenght and courage. prayon |

264 | Releases from tithing 10 per cent? | 2 Cor 9:7 | prayon | 22143
Greetings Johnny. I believe we have been released from the law of Moses. But I have always been taught that we are to tithe 10 percent of our earnings although you have made some valid pooints I have never thought of. What scripture points to the fact that tithing is under the law of Moses? By the way I am a saved, sactified and filled with the Holy Ghost Christian. prayon
265 | Faith promise scripture? | 2 Cor 9:7 | prayon | 83930
Thanks Charis, By the way I agree with you. prayon
266 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | prayon | 109149
Renovate me, I ask you to type tithes into the quick search at the top right hand corner. YOu may realize that tithing is just as pertinent today as it was in the OT. As for what is a tithe for anymore, it has the same purpose as it did in the OT. It is to care for God's house and to provide for the pastor. When we do not tithe we are robbing God's appointed ones. In addition, when we don't tithe and support those appointed by God to be over us then they will have to go out into the workforce to support themselves. How much ministering will have to be pushed aside that they could of been doing if they could devote 100 percent of their time to doing God's work? prayon
267 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | prayon | 109285

268 | Beware "Another" | 2 Cor 11:4 | prayon | 156462
Greetings Victor, I have to say that I too am a veteran member of this forum and neither a fundamentalist nor a Baptist either. The members of this forum have many different viewpoints many which others think are way off base. However, we are not here to judge. Christ says we are to love our brothers and sisters in the Lord. This includes having a humble, loving spirit when addressing others - which is what we try to encourage on this forum. You do come across a little strong and judgemental however this is probably not at all the way you desired to come across. You seem to have a lot of knowledge of the Word and I hope that you remain on the forum - it will be interesting to 'study' with you. Just please tone it down some so as not to offend others. In Christ's love, prayon |

271 | Three different heavens in the Bible? | 2 Cor 12:2 | prayon | 4201
I didn't mean to imply that you were a Mormon. My meaning was more of a Beware! What you said sounds like it is coming from Mormon doctrine. Sorry. prayon
272 | Three different heavens in the Bible? | 2 Cor 12:2 | prayon | 4251
NO!!! Don't stop asking any question! I find that I can learn something from ALL questions, not just those that are application!! I haven't seen a Ho-hum question yet! In Christ's love, prayon
273 | How do we do the How? | Gal 5:16 | prayon | 4111
I am confused what do you mean by "how" then. Could you be a little more specific please? I would like to give your question another shot. Thanks
274 | Cite Scripture Jesus descended to hell | Ephesians | prayon | 26789
- Psa 49:15 - "God will ransome my soul from the power of Sheol, for He will receive me". This says that hell received Him and how could He of gotten the keys to hell if He had not gone there and gotten them. prayon
275 | For Heisthe1 a question. | Ephesians | prayon | 34645
Good Morning, I agree with you that depression is not of God. That wasn't exactly what I meant by my question. Many people think that depression is just a state of mind, that anyone who is depressed can just snap out of it whenever they want. What I was wondering is if you think depression is a state of mind or if it is a disease process such as diabetes? prayon
276 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | prayon | 165397
Greetings Tessie, There is no legitamate question that a person has about the bible that we should not concern ourselves with. Every word of the bible is there for a reason and is there to teach us. If the bible said that Cain was married then there is a reason it was there and we should strive to understand its meaning. Also Ps 131:2 says "Surely I have behaved and have quieted my soul, as one weaned by its mother; my soul on me is like one weaned." If you were refering to v. 1 then you have used that out of context as it is referring to pride. prayon |

277 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | prayon | 165423
Tessie, However we do not know whether that was the case or if he is a "baby Christian" and is really trying to understand. As for Psalm 131 - Adam Clarke's Commentary says: Psalms 131 - The psalmist professes his humility, and the peaceableness of his disposition and conduct, Psa_131:1, Psa_131:2. Exhorts Israel to hope in God, Psa_131:3. Matthew Henry's Commentary say, "This psalm is David's profession of humility, humbly made, with thankfulness to God for his grace, and not in vain-glory." Treasure of Scriptual Knowledge says, "Psa_131:1, David, professing his humility, Psa_131:3, exhorts Israel to trust in God. Adam Barnes Notes on the Bible say, " this psalm was probably a private meditation on what he had done, and was of the nature of a personal examination of his spirit and motives." J,F, and B's commentary says, "Psa_131:1-3. This Psalm, while expressive of David’s pious feelings on assuming the royal office, teaches the humble, submissive temper of a true child of God." John Darby's Synopsis says, "Psa 131:1-3 - Psalm 131 briefly states the humble absence of all self-confidence, that so he has walked. Israel is now to trust in Jehovah and for ever." I can not find one commentary that says this psalm does not address pride. Could I ask where you found that it does not address pride? I would be very interested to know. prayon |

278 | Searching for the truth | Eph 6:12 | prayon | 75697
The power I am referring to is the power that Jesus said would come upon you when you receive the Holy Spirit, (see Acts 1:8). To use it effectively we must first know the word and what it says, which leads to faith. When we speak something and have faith as small as a mustard seed what we say will come to pass. With this faith we are to call down the works of Satan. Does this help any? prayon
279 | Who are "your opponents/" | Phil 1:28 | prayon | 155855
I am like you - sometimes I am also more tolerant and compromising, on the other hand though when we know that about ourselves I believe we are more on guard - at least I am. The one thing I find that I must do is pray for the spirit of discernment so that if I miss the advasary God will "wake me up". prayon
280 | What day do YOU attend church? | Col 2:16 | prayon | 25721
Terms of Use: "...You agree not to post, email or otherwise transmit any Postings that are unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable...." You agreed to the tems of use of this forum. In your last couple postings you have become insulting and have totally lost your humility that you are told by Jesus to have. I believe that you owe others an apology, especially kalos, and that you need to be very critical of your own postings before you post them. This is not a place to boast of your accomplishments this is a study forum. It is to study the word of God so that we may grow to be closer to Jesus Christ our Lord. I encourage you to follow the terms of use set forth by Lockman. What truly counts is not how much knowledge you have but how humbly you serve Christ with it. prayon |
