282 | What's really going on? | 1 Thess 5:18 | prayon | 125074
Greetings Mommapbs, Our deliverence is from much more than death. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Surely He hath born our griefs has to do with sickness. All sickness taken on cross - meets us where we are at - Heals us so that we will hear Him And carried our sorrows - has to do with emotional pain); suffering (Mental suffering - deals with our mind) Wounded for our transgressions - breach of relationship Man / Sin relationship breached spiritually (Make Him Lord and breach is restored) Bruised for our iniquities - deals with Past, present, and future - sin separated from God; Chastised for our peace - Shalom means peace or prosperity has to do with our wellness; safety wholeness; completeness His stripes we are healed - (Rapha:healed) - speaking in the causative sense refers to the body Healed - causes us to walk in health so we will serve Him Jehovah Rapha - One who heals you. prayon |

283 | Send My messenger before Your face | 2 Tim 2:15 | prayon | 109146
Hi Ray, I am not sure. My NKJ has it in italics which to me would mean the same as Me. However, when you read it it does not make sense to put the name of Jesus in there. The only name that would fit in there is John the Baptist, but why would 'he' be italisized if it were John? prayon
284 | 3 things that are a must for ministers | Titus 1:7 | prayon | 22352
Greetings CDBJ! I do agree that that is very important also. I was thinking in my response that if you weren't born of the spirit God would not call you into that ministry. I should of said TRULY called of God - not just think you were. prayon
285 | 3 things that are a must for ministers | Titus 1:7 | prayon | 22354
Yes I do. But would that come before truly being called? Or before a Godly nature? Or maybe before a firm grasp of the word? There are so many things that are a must for ministers I don't believe that you can limit it to just three. Also I think that the brokeness would go under being humble. You can't be humble unless you are broken daily or even once in a while. prayon
286 | What did Onesimus do? | Philemon | prayon | 8612
According to the Erdman's Bible Dictionary he stole from his master. In the letter Paul offers to pay Philemon back himself for any wrong. However in Vincent's word studies it just states that Onesimus had wronged his master and fled from him.

288 | Was the temple curtain repaired? | Heb 9:1 | prayon | 152383
Doc, that is an interesting point about them not wanting the curtain in disrepair, but Idon't think they would or could of trird to hide thefact that something happened considering the disappearance of the sun and the earthquake. prayon
289 | How were ppl saved before Jesus came? | Heb 11:6 | prayon | 49233
Thank you for your reply Chris pointing out the error in my answer. You are totally right when you stated that animal sacrifices could not take away the sin, they could only provide a temporary way to deal with sin until Jesus came to deal with it permanently. But God did forgive them by faith when they made their sacrifices. This practice looked forward to Christ's perfect sacrifice. prayon
290 | Who is Peter writing to his 1st Epistle? | 1 Pet 1:1 | prayon | 89245
Greetings, I have looked at a few different references. All references agree that it was written between 64 AD and 68 AD. It is also agreed upon that it was written because of the believers facing increasing persecution. The purpose of the letter was to encourage and to teach them how to live victoriously in the midst of persecution. As a result of this persecution the believers scattered throughout the Roman empire. The MacArthur study bible says that these pilgrims were mostly Gentiles. Galatia was made up of mostly Greeks, Bithynia was a combination of Gauls and Greeks, and in Pontus Claudius had demanded in 50 AD that all Jews leave the city. However there must of been Jews involved because Peter was an apostle to the Jews as Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles. 1:18-19 is referring to Christ's death and how we were not redeemed by gold or silver but by the blood of Christ. They did put their trust in gold and silver but Peter is reminding them that it was not physical things that redeemed us. Their fathers did not know Jesus and were caught up in all the things that Jesus confronted the Pharisees with - they thought riches could buy anything - what a deceived generation! Hope this clears it up a little. prayon |

291 | Noah and his family | 1 Pet 3:20 | prayon | 6052
Sam, forgive me for the mispelling - I definitly meant Ararat. I went on the assumption that we already knew it to be true because it is in the bible and God said it. Something I should not of done. Please forgive me. Thank you for your new insight on the spiritual salvation. We all learn new things every day. By the way I am not a "sir". :o) prayon
292 | A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY | 1 Pet 4:10 | prayon | 129666

293 | forgiveness confirmed? | 1 John 1:1 | prayon | 61330
GJH, God knew a long time ago that you would be going through this discouragement. That's why you have His word. He tells you over and over throughout the bible that He loves you. Jesus gave His life for you. What greater sign of His love could He give you? Read His words to you. Personalize them. - For God so loved ME that He gave his only son that when I believe in Him I will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Fear not: For He has redeemed ME, He has called ME by name; I are His. When I pass through the waters, He will be with ME; and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm ME; when I walk through fire I shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume ME. For He is the Lord MY God. (Isa 43:1-2) ...for He has said, He will never leave ME nor forsake ME...The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me. (Heb 13:5) I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in Me will bring it to completion! (Phil 1:6) Therefore if I be in Christ I am new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new (2Cor 5:17) He will keep ME in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him (Isa 26:3) I trust the Lord with all MY heart and will not lean not to MY own understanding. In all MY ways I will acknowledge Him and He shall direct MY paths. (Prov 3:5-6) I cast MY burden on the Lord and He will sustain ME; He will never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psa 55:22) Neither death nor life nor angels, nor pricipalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, not any other creaature, shall be able to separate ME from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:38,39) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psa 27:1) All the reassurance you need is in the book that He wrote for YOU! prayon |

294 | Why the dispute? | Jude 1:9 | prayon | 9024
The body of some commentators view the body of Moses as symbolic, the body of Moses "being intended to represent the Mosiac law and institutions" (Zech 3:1), in the same manner in which modern Christians call the church "the body of Christ". Some also say in the Hebrew books that Satan disputed the burial, claiming the body because of the blood of the Egyptian who Moses slew, and because of the leaders sin at Meribah (Ex 17:5-6, Num 20:5, 8-9). prayon
295 | muslims - 144,000? | Revelation | prayon | 11412
Isa, if the free bible you are talking about is the one from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints please do not send for it. These persons (or Mormons as they are also called) do not believe in the bible to be the only infallible word of God. They are as deceived as Muslims are. God to any K-Mart, WalMart, ect. and get a bible there. If you can not afford one I am sure any Christian Church will be happy to give you one. prayon

Greetings forever, I am not sure. Can you tell me the verses that talk about a 7th prophet. prayon
298 | muslims - 144,000? | Revelation | prayon | 53506
Greetings forever, I apologise for taking so long. The 7 kings are the 7 kingdoms not 7 prophets. The Beast has 7 heads which represent 7 mountains and 7 kingdoms. The 7 mountains are the 7 hills of the city of Rome, in other words, the center of the beasts power is Rome. The 7 kingdoms: (5 have fallen, one is, one yet to come) are as follows: The 5 that have fallen are Assyria, Egypt, neo-Babylonian, Medopersia, and the Greek government. The "one that is" is the Roman empire now. The "one to come" is the future revival of Rome with the Roman Antichrist. Hope this clarifies for you. prayon |
