221 | Can God see into the future? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222374
Greetings and I hope you enjoy the forum. The first mention of this situation was a general statement and later the full stipulation is brought to the forefront. From the (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 4. THE REJECTION OF THE PRIESTHOOD (2:27-36) 2:27-36. It is no wonder that God rejected the priesthood of Eli and his sons. After reviewing the circumstances of the selection of Eli’s ancestors to be priests of the LORD over Israel (vv. 27-28), an unnamed man of God announced to Eli that his priesthood would end because it had violated the conditions for its ongoing existence (vv. 29-33). Yet the LORD would not terminate the office of priest altogether for He would raise up… a faithful priest (v. 35) whose line of succession (house) would be firmly established and who would minister before His anointed one (i.e., the king) forever. In human terms this was fulfilled when the priesthood was taken from Abiathar, descendant of Aaron’s son Ithamar, and given to Zadok, descendant of Aaron’s son Eleazar (1 Kings 2:27, 35). But in the ultimate sense the “faithful Priest” and “Anointed One” are One and the same, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is both Priest and King (Ps. 110; Heb. 5:6; Rev. 19:16). CDBJ |

222 | Will we ever see God the Father? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222372
Greetings and welcome to the forum. With the following passage in mind the answer is yes. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. The key here is the pure in heart. Only those that have put “all of their hope” for eternal life in the person and work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, will experience this fantastic advantage. 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Have you come to this point yet in your spiritual walk where you know for sure that you have eternal life? Have a great day, CDBJ |

Rafiki23, Your question has set for quiet sometime now and apart form personally digging into Scripture I believe your subject is so exhaustive that a book would be needed for the answer. I further think that putting it under the title of Missiology limits you answer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missiology CDBJ |

225 | help with homosexuality | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222210
Greetings and welcome to the forum. There isn’t anything that can be done by people the answer to your question resides with the Lord. The best information I could give would be to start reading in Matthew which is the first book of the “New Testament” and continue right through to Revelation and ask the Lord to reveal the truth that is contained within its pages. With mankind it’s imposable but with God all thing are possible. I’m not going to tell you that what she is experiencing is a sin because the fact is we are all sinners in God’s sight, and one persons sins aren’t any more refined then someone else’s. What might shock some people that are self righteous wouldn’t even hold a candle to what God calls the seven worst sins. Get her reading God’s Word, the Bible and let God do the fixing and it will last! CDBJ |

226 | Does the bible have anything on cloning? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222207
Greetings Frannymay2 and welcome to the bibleforum. The Bible doesn’t use the word cloning, instead the word conformed is used; It’s God’s objective that we be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ which is like cloning because one must be born again from God for it to start. Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. It is an actual process that God puts in motion the very moment one puts their undivided trust in the one that God sent to Earth to bring people into a relationship with Himself; that person is the risen "living" Jesus Christ. Have you personally started a relationship with God through the person of His Son, Jesus Christ? Many assume that they have through various religious act of one sort or another but the Bible declares that they are in for a big surprise when they take their last breath. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. God wants to transform our way of thinking into His way of thinking. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. This relationship, of knowing Jesus personally, is free and open to all that are willing to seek the Lord through His Word the Bible. God promises eternal life to all that experience this fantastic relationship and it’s a free gift from God Himself, are you interested? CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. The answer: God’s Holy and eternal Word. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It's in the Old Testament: Psalm 22:6-8 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. 7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, 8He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. |

233 | who are the chosen,elect, and faithfull? | Col 1:2 | CDBJ | 222032
Greetings, this agrees with your summation. This is from Revelation Commentary that is free and available on the Internet. http://www.revelationcommentary.org/ Revelation 17:14 (1) These will wage war against the Lamb, and (2) the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and (3) those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful. 1. These will wage war against the Lamb indicates the purpose or mind of the ten kings. They are united in their attitudes toward the Lamb. The attack of the ten kings against the Lamb is not specially detailed, but they must gather with the nations to Armageddon. 2. The Lamb will overcome them signals defeat for the ten kings and the beast. The title "Lord of lords and King of kings" is applied to the Lamb here and the rider on the white horse in Revelation 19:16. 3. Those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful is an unusual occurrences in the Revelation. Called (klatos) and chosen (eklektos) occur only here in the Revelation. Both words occur together in Matthew 22:14. These are clearly the saints of the ages. It is not explicitly stated what the role of the Lamb’s accomplices is. CDBJ |

234 | God speak to us?,if so,then why faith | Heb 11:1 | CDBJ | 222028
Greetings talklikebees and welcome to the forum. Being a mathematician has a way of putting a damper on the facts of faith; now if you were a language major it might be easer. The word faith, as we have it in the English language translations of the New Testament, comes from the Koine Greek word PISTIS, that being the root form. I will use as my example the following verse; Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. The word believe in this verse is the verb from the root word PISTIS and in the Greek it is PISTEUO being used as a verb. Faith or believe as it is used here is a “transitive verb” and it has an object as well as a subject. Faith in and of itself has no merit in this case so all of the credit is imposed on the object of the faith, which in this case is Jesus Christ, God’s Son. It would be like you crossing a huge bridge that is hundreds of feet high. You could place all the faith that you could muster up by crossing the bridge but if the object of your faith is faulty your in deep trouble; you see it isn’t your faith that holds you up; it’s the soundness of the bridge which is the object of your faith. Many have faith in the religion that they practice to get them to heaven but God’s word tells us the following through the person of His Son, John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus paid the price that God demands for our redemption because the fact is, we are sinners and the price for sin is death. When Jesus was on the cross God imputed our sins to His beloved Son and he died in our place; the moment we have trust in or faith in the finished work that Christ performed personally for us, God imputes the righteousness of His Son to us. How is that for a trade! 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. It gets even better; the very second we put our “faith” in Jesus, God does something else for us which is eternal in nature and fantastic in scope when it comes to confidence. I.e. promises we can claim! Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Couple that with this next group of verses and it’s a winning story for those that put their faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. This is a promise from God Himself and it all starts with “FAITH” in the person of Christ. I hope this helps and that you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

235 | Praying to Jesus in Jesus' name? | NT general | CDBJ | 222019
Greetings Nextman and welcome to the forum. We are only to pray to the Father as Jesus commanded in the model prayer. Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. So in essence we pray to the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of the Son. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

236 | Prove that you have the Holy ghost? | 1 Cor 12:10 | CDBJ | 221996
Speaking in tongues doesn't prove anything: here is the real proof. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Those that don’t know if the have the Holy Spirit haven’t truly believed in Christ. It’s a work that God does only with those that have “fully trusted” in the finished work of Christ, and those that don’t have this sealing don’t understand something that they have never had and only God can make it real to them when He seals them! 237 | Why apostle Paul identifies rock | 1 Cor 10:4 | CDBJ | 221988
There aren't any Jews that really believe what Moses taught; if they did there would be a temple in Jerusalem where they could have their sin covered as was commanded to Moses in the Old Testament. Leviticus 16:34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses. Here are the words of a true Jew. Romans 10:1-9 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 238 | prayer | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221958
Greetings wejlly, According to the gospel of John the opposite it true. One’s fate is determined while they are “still alive and residing on this earth”. John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is backed up with the following verses as well. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. One knows if they have eternal life before they die that or they don’t actually have it and if a person doesn’t believe this they in effect are making God out to be a liar! Harsh but true, if one doesn’t fully trust in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, there is no hope for them and these aren’t my words but God’s! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. There are those that would argue with this fact, that’s because they haven’t experienced it yet. Ephes. 1:12-14 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. 240 | removal of Holy Spirit | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221921
Greetings and welcome to the forum. It’s impossible to remove God since it would be in opposition to His essence, one of which is omnipresent or being everywhere at the same time. It’s also wrong to assume that it is the church since the grammatical structure places the restrainer in the masculine gender and the church is always designated in the feminine gender. There is another solution that you might want to consider for the one that will be ordered to stop restraining during the period just before the last 3 and ½ years which is the time spoken of by Christ in the following; Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Compare that verse with this section of verses. Daniel 12:1-4 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. From my perspective the one doing the restraining is the job of Michael the archangel. Those periods of time all coincide with the following when the antichrist is given free reign to perform at his will “against the elect” of God. Rev. 13:5-7 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. I hope this helps, CDBJ |
