221 | exodus | Exodus | EdB | 240507
Scripture does not reveal the route Moses first used when he flee Egypt. We don't know that he didn't since the first route was never detailed out. |

222 | Satan's initial exit from Heaven. | Bible general | EdB | 240505
I'm not sure he was tossed out. He is the accuser of the saints to do that he has to have access to God. Also as you pointed out we see Job reporting to God and actually speaking directly to God. I believe Satan is constrained to his place in the heavenlies and does not have full run but scripture shows him to have access to God. However there are theologians that see Rev 12 has having double meaning (past and future), and tie it back to Luke 10:18 where Jesus said he saw Satan fall. |

223 | Does hell really exist and how can I be | Rev 20:15 | EdB | 240432
I think the problem is two fold. First there is common and incorrect mixing of terms Hades and Hell with the final destination of the unsaved. Hades/Hell is the holding place of the dead. Held captive by death. In Luke 16:9-31 we see this described. Also we have to understand that the righteous side Abraham's bosom or Paradise is now empty as Christ Jesus lead those held in captivity, captive to heaven. Eph 4:8 The final place of the unrighteous is the Lake of Fire not Hell. The second problem is people only want to believe what they want to believe. Revelation 20:15 is explicit and clear that the punishment for unbelief is the Lake of Fire. There isn't any exceptions nor any uncertainty. |

224 | NASB, To Day English Version, Contempora | Luke 3:33 | EdB | 240411
The name only appears once in Bibles that include it. It isn't found at all in KJV. I'm not aware of any narrative that details who he was or what he did. There is some suggestion that it is derivative of the name Ram his father. ADMIN (ad’ mihn) Personal name in best Greek texts of Luke 3:33 in the ancestry of Jesus but not in Greek texts available to King James translators. Thus Admin appears in NAS, RSV, TEV but not in KJV or NIV. See NIV text note. Trent C. Butler, ed., “ADMIN,” in Holman Bible Dictionary, (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 1991), WORDsearch CROSS e-book, Under: "ADMIN". |

225 | King James version | Luke 3:33 | EdB | 240407
I think you are talking about Aminadab. If you look closely he is there. In Luke 3:33 and again in Matt 1:4 If I have misunderstood your question would you resubmit it and perhaps give us a little more wording. |

226 | "Heaven is for real" the movie | 2 Cor 12:3 | EdB | 240355
I have a hard time with any "I seen heaven story" because if Paul couldn't tell of it who can? 2 Corinthians 12:3-4 (NKJV) 3 And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows-- 4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Does that make someone that believes and/or is entertained by such stories a non Christian? I think man has a desire to have proof. Faith is belief without proof. I think we are to stay away from idle speculation. |

227 | Is speaking in tongues for us today? | Eph 1:13 | EdB | 240348
I believe it is however there is two schools of thought one group says it ceased with the Apostles and another group that believes it continued. I believe Doc provided links to both schools of thought so you can read them yourself. My advice ask God to reveal the truth to you. If you end up speaking in tongues praise God. If not then also praise God. |

228 | Family has received stolen material no | Matt 18:15 | EdB | 240290
Shelly First what is your motive? Is it to do right or is it something else. We are not to bear false witness. Do you have proof that it is stolen or is it your suspicion? Have you talked to the family member in private about the situation? Matthew 18:15-17 (NASB) 15 "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. 17 "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. |

229 | does revalations speak of a lion with a | Revelation | EdB | 240288
I suspect this is homework. So I will only give you the chapters. The word Lion is mentioned 6 times in Revelation. Once in chapters 4 and 5 twice in chapter 9 and once again in chapters 10 and 13. Now take the time to read the Book of Revelation and show yourself a workman approved. |

230 | rope on the priest ankle | Ex 28:33 | EdB | 240251
The legend of the rope on the priest ankle is just that a legend. There is no mention of it anywhere credible. See http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/anklerope.html |

231 | How can I understand the Bible? | Bible general | EdB | 240239
When Jesus left us He said He would send us a teacher the Holy Spirit. And Jesus did! However we seldom allow the Holy Spirit to teach us. There are many excellent resources available to aid us in the study of scripture but the best and least used is the Holy Spirit. Before you start your study stop and take time to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to quicken your senses, to open your understanding and to illuminate the truth God has for you in scripture. Then as you read take time to stop and reflect on what it is you just read, allowing the Holy Spirit to quicken you mind to points and truths you would have missed in the natural. Once you develop a working teaching/learning relationship you will have the best and greatest resource for understanding scripture there is, your own personal tutor the Holy Spirit. The truths of God will literally jump off the pages at you and will find yourself growing by leaps and bounds. |

232 | Resurrection or Easter sunday? | 1 Cor 15:32 | EdB | 240223
Justme I can't speak for your pastor but if he is like every pastor I know he is faced with a two edged sword. How to make Resurrection Sunday special without commercializing it too much. Easter egg hunts and basket giveaways attract non regular attenders to church, that gives opportunity to share the Resurrection Story with people that might otherwise never hear it. What do you do? Stay high and holy and miss a world that might never hear the truth or offer a draw and take your best shot? Perhaps too blunt but I'm trying to contrast both edges of the two edged sword. Easter is what we make of it. If we focus our thoughts on candy colored eggs, Easter bunnies and such we are feeding our flesh. If however we reflect on the cross, the blood and resurrection we are feeding our spirit. Surely we can understand a little feeding of the flesh to see people become receptive to be spiritually feed. Even Jesus feed the thousands so they would stay and have their spirits feed. |

233 | how many books excluded? | Bible general | EdB | 240206
Every book that isn't in it. That might appear to be a wise guy answer but it is the truth. The cannon of the Old and New Testament insured that only authentic and inspired were included. There are many books which could not be authenticated or were not considered inspired at the time the cannon was formed that were not included in the cannon. If you want a list of books that were thought to have some merit but weren't considered inspired look at the Apocrypha or Deuterocanonical books. As of late there are many books that try to lay claim to being lost books of the Bible. But none of them can be authenticated nor are the considered inspired of God. |

234 | When fasting can I drink coffee? | Matt 6:16 | EdB | 240195
What did the Holy Spirit direct you when you prayed about this? He is our teacher, guide and counselor we should seek His direction and leading before ever consider doing anything like fasting.
235 | what to tythe from | 2 Cor 9:7 | EdB | 240194
Why seek the counsel of man before you seek the counsel of the teacher? What did the Holy Spirit lay on your heart to do? Does that correspond to the scriptures? If so why the question?
236 | How do I reconcil Ch 1 and Ch 2 of Gen? | Gen 1:27 | EdB | 240177
I think people are getting your question confused with something completely different, mistaking your question as asking about verse 1 and 2 in Genesis chapter 1. However your question is dealing with the narrative found in Genesis 1:24-31 where scripture says God created man and woman on the 6th day. Which gives the impression God created man and woman at nearly the same time. And the narrative in Genesis 2:1-25 Which supplies a much more detailed account of the creation of man and woman. The narrative found here also seems to suggest the process took longer than a day. I think we need to read Genesis 1 account as a summary of what God did on each day of creation where Chapter 2 is a more a detailed explanation and gives us some insight to why God did what He he did. God didn't give us these two accounts to question their truthfulness but rather to understand God's concern for the welfare of His creation and especially man. In chapter 1 of Genesis we are told of what God accomplished and in chapter 2 we are told of God's desire for both man and creation to thrive and the compassion God had for Adam. Neither chapter offers any hard evidence that they contradict each other. So it comes down to our failure to appreciate what God was able to accomplish in one day. |

237 | What do He mine this verse? Amos 8:11 | Amos 8:11 | EdB | 240171
It means what is says that God will bring a famine of His word to the land. Most scholars believe this took place in the 400 silent years between Old Testament and the New Testament. During the period there was no recorded prophecy, admonishment or instruction given by the Lord. |

238 | belief in hell? | Bible general | EdB | 240069
Since an eternal hell or damnation is woven all through scripture how do you propose to eliminate it as established fact of Scripture? To remove any mention or to ignore the mention of an eternal Hell or damnation would require you to alter scripture and scripture itself speaks against that. To answer your question it would be impossible for a Christian to not believe in an eternal hell or damnation. |

239 | Horses eating horses? | Revelation | EdB | 240049
To my knowledge there is no passage in the Book of Revelations speaking of horses eating horses. Sonofmom understand there is a lot of symbolism in the Book of Revelations. John is describing things that were not yet fully understood by man at the time and some still aren't. About half of Christianity views the Book of Revelation as symbolism and the other half has offered explanations to the events that are vividly spoken about. However until the Prophecy of the Book is totally fulfilled none of us can be sure the events will occur as man has concluded. Two things are certain. Jesus is coming back. And things are going to get tougher and tougher. Being a true Christian now and even more so in the future requires sacrifice, dedication, commitment and real effort. |
