221 | Adam..timeline of cavemen existence? | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236583
As I understand it the oldest provable man found to date is dated at about 6000 years ago. Most Bible scholars put Adam and Eve at around 7000 years ago or long before the his man.
222 | does relationship connects Jn 8,9,10 | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236585
All of scripture is telling of God's/Jesus' desire for a relationship with man. And yes John 8,9 and 10 is Jesus telling us of his desire to be in relationship with us. The "I am" is often picked up on from the Ex 3:14 where God declares Moses should tell the people that "I Am" had sent him. |

224 | 2nd marry an scriptural divorce frm 1st | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236602
Howard you are asking a lot of questions based on little more than bare facts. You really need to be talking to your pastor and lay the whole things out on the table. Most of all you need to be in prayer. I think you have a real good answer already but you are looking for someone to give you a way out. |

226 | literalness between NAS77 and 95 | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236626
Basically they are the same what has changed is some of the sentence structure. To me it makes the NASB95 easier to read aloud. I also think the NASB95 used the latest manuscripts that may not have been avail for the 77 edition. Some fault the removal of the Thee and thou but I don't have a problem with it. |

227 | Does God plan our lives from birth | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236752
I think you are asking two different questions here. First does God know our future? Yes Does God change our future? God is not a puppetmaster we do have free will but God also knows what decisions we will make and incorporates those decisions into His plans. If we step back and take a look at what life is all about it is not about us but rather our service to God. Our decisions don't change the destiny of the earth but they do determine how we serve God. Example God's plan is for a someone to witness to a man named Mike. You are God's first choice but for whatever reason you decide not to. God already knew that and had someone else in place to witness to Mike. That person faithful to his call witnesses to Mike, Mike gets saved and nobody but God knows what took place. However you missed the blessing of telling someone of Christ and seeing them accept salvation. You freely made a decision, but you never know what could have been had you made another choice. In this examply you missed out, perhaps in another case you were used of God and greatly blessed. Psalm 37:23 (NASB) 23 The steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 (NASB) 10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 (NASB) 4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. |

228 | THESE “MEN” WERE THE SAME AGE WHEN THEY | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236764

229 | is cosmetic surgery okay? | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 236774
As far as I know there is no mention of cosmetic surgery in scripture. However there is much teaching on pride and not allowing our pride to lead us astray. When an architech designs a building he does not want the building looks to be changed by graffiti. While true some graffiti actually improves the looks in some cases, it was not the architechs intention. God builds us the way he does and most of the time the reasons are not known, but God does have a purpose. While we are free to change our looks we must remain aware of this. Again we must deal with our pride. On the other side of the coin God has given talents to the doctors and nurses that does this work. Many times they help people that have suffered with defects get back a normal life. How we look to ourselves is important and if we aren't happy that can be reflected to the world. So there is pro and con to this subject. We must decide for ourselves, we do this by examining our motives, our wants, our desires. Are any of them out of line with the word of God. |

Then restate you question. What are two aspects of the work of God isn't enough. In what respect do you mean. Do you mean at the creation? Or deliverance of the Children of Israel? Or giving Moses the Law? or Jesus' work on the cross? God's work is seen in all things, so what are we talking about? |

Wait a minute this exact question has been asked about 3 or 4 times in the last week or so. I starting to guess it is part of a homework assignment. And I know no one wants to take the easy way when they are doing Christian homework. They all want to show themselves as good students and look up the answers themselves. |

236 | how old can man live to be? | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 237005
There is no age limit mentioned. However various things are mentioned that extend our life such as. Exodus 20:12 (NASB) 12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. Job 12:12 (NASB) 12 "Wisdom is with aged men, With long life is understanding. |
