205 | when were the angels created? | Gen 1:1 | azurelaw | 189895
Dear Bill, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree that angels were created prior to man. However, I am afraid I cannot agree that angels should be included in the 'Us'. Please read the below scriptures which do not support 'Us' is inclusive of angels. Gen 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.....God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (NASB) AMP version v. 26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. [Ps. 104:30; Heb. 1:2; 11:3.] AMP version v 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col. 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.] Gen 9:6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man. 1 Cor 11:7 For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. Only God (the father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) is the creator. Nowhere in the bible mentioned that man was created in the image of angels. Hope this clarifies the issue. Enjoy the forum and let us learn together. Shalom Azure |

Dear Jessica, Welcome to the forum. This is just a warm reminder as per below TOU for your reference: * Postings must be Biblically based and not opposing the Bible's sole authority (sola Scriptura), Christianity, or the deity of Jesus Christ. Therefore, it would be strongly advised that you include books/chapters/verses in your posts aptly cited. Thank you. Shalom Azure |

Dear Brother Doc, Your example is interesting and aptly tells the difference of the word according to the context. Those sentences do not have the literal wordings of "moving swiftly on foot" in Chinese. The frist 4 even bear no such meaning at all, but only the last 2 contain a sense of it. Well, what about "running nose"? I need to stay alert to catch it, else I can't breath :-) Languages is such a beautiful gift yet pretty troublesome sometimes :-) Shalom Azure Prov 25:11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances. |

Dear FTK, Welcome to the forum. As to your post, I would like to ask for your further clarification or elaboration to the below points: 1/ You said: After his death he returned to the earth at least six or seven times. What do you mean by "returned"? Could you cite scripture to back up your above statement? 2/ You said: All Truth from God produces feelings that are good, warm, loving etc.is for believers. How about the psalms that depicts David agonized about his transgressons in face of God's truth? 3/ You said: ...all aspects of God are peace, joy, kindness, meekness, love etc. What do you find in Job 42:27, Psalm 6:1, Deut 4:24, Rev 3:19? Thanks and Shalom Azure |

Dear FTK, You say: The Bible can be read to find tribulation, pain and suffering (for the non believing).... Do you mean that tribulation, affliction, pain, suffering are for non believing only while a believer will never expereince them? Are you saying there is no teaching of pain and suffering in the Bible for believers? Did you read the book of Job? What about Roman 8:16-25? Rom 9:1-3? 1 Cor 4:11-13? 2 Cor 7:8-11? Shalom Azure |

215 | Did God bless the beasts as well | Gen 1:25 | azurelaw | 213428
Dear Cheri, Sorry for such a late reply to your post...so much (both physically and mentally) occupied by the Lunar New Year things :-) Things are getting back to normal now, I hope :-) I think both you and MJH had made the point well but still we (maybe it's just I) lack clear scriptural evidence. MJH's proposing the consideration of the Hebrew text could be helpful, then, I need someone to help on this aspect :-) Or maybe I just take it at face value since it is pretty trivial after all. By the way, I understand that you are new to the forum. Perhaps you might need some help on the features of the forum so that you can direct your post to the person concern and relevant to the subject of discussion properly. TO: OTHER EXPERIENCED FORUM PARTICIPANTS Since I am in a hurry to go out for a medical check up, could anyone of you help this lady on the feature of the forum? 217 | modes in aiding meditation | Gen 1:26 | azurelaw | 200444
Dear Irene, Now let me try if I can explain it clear enough for you to understand how to make better use of the function and feature of the forum. 1/ When someone sends a post to you, you will be notified by an email from the Lockman system automatically. What you can do is either make your reply in response directly via the email; or if you want to view more comments from others on the subject before making a reply, you may log on the forum. 2/ When you want to post on a specific topic which already exists, just click on the subject heading, scroll down to the bottom of the screen, you will see those past posts within the thread. It is always advisable to read those past posts in order to grasp the idea of the past and current discussions so that we can make a proper reply or comment. I see that what you have written in your post (#200426) is irrelevant to my question (post #200340) nor any of the posts along the thread. It makes me suspect that you have no clues to the features and function of SBF. You said that I am charging you as screaming when write in cap letter. I am afraid it must be a misunderstanding on your part for I have not said so in any of my posts to you. Therefore, again, I sincerely invite you to re-read my posts which were addressed to you. If you find me wrong and offend you in anything what I said, kindly cite my exact wordings and the relevant post number so that we may communicate properly and effectively. All the blessings. Shalom Azure |

Dear Child'88, Are you responding to blue.eyes? If so, I would suggest you read more of her past posts and the relevant thread, if you wish (by clicking on her username then on the statistical figure on her number of posts), then you will find nothing in her posts offensive but she definitely needs some help both on bible study and how to get familiar with the features of SBF instead. Good to have your participation on SBF, Child'88. By the way, just a friendly reminder: it is always encourged to cite scriptures with chapter and verse number in support of our posts. Shalom Azure |
