210 | Biblical basis for Revival | 2 Chronicles | azurelaw | 220491
Dear lightedsteps, When reading your post and question, the Book of Ezekial comes to mind. I think Eze chapter 37 should be a typical event taught in the Bible about revival. Actually, I think the whole Book of Ezekial has a lot revival concepts in it. Just my 2 cents. Shalom Azure |

211 | Why related it to the feeding of 5000 | Mark 6:52 | azurelaw | 220380
Dear Brother Doc, Thank you very much. The additional insight is very helpful :-) I have also observed the contrast of Mark's portraying the incidents about the reaction of Jesus'(v34) and the disciples' attitude (v36) toward the crowd. It looks like though they had obtained the power of healing, doing miracles and preaching the gospel (v7-13), they have little (or no) compassion/love to the people. As you have rightly said that they would be feeding the sheep and forming the church. And I believe this was Jesus' fore-shadowing their future role in this discipleship incident. Yet, they failed to understand and they did not have the shepherd heart, too. Shalom Azure |

212 | Thoughts on the Lord's Prayer | Matt 6:9 | azurelaw | 220154
Matthew 6:9-13 - Thoughts on the Lord's Prayer I cannot say OUR, if my religion has no room for others and their need. I cannot say FATHER , if I do not demonstrate this relationship in my daily living. I cannot say WHO ARE IN HEAVEN, if all my interest and pursuits are in earthly things. I cannot say YOUR KINGDOM COME, if I am unwilling to give up my own sovereignty and accept the righteous reign of God. I cannot say YOUR WILL BE DONE, if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in my life. I cannot say ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN unless I am truly ready to give myself to His service here and now. I cannot say GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD, with out making honest efforts for it or by ignoring the genuine need of other people. I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AS WE HAVE ALSO FORGIVEN THOSE WHO SINNED AGAINST US, if I continue to harbour a grudge against anyone. I cannot say AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted. I cannot say BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL, if I am not prepared to fight in the spiritual realm with the weapon of prayer. I cannot say YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, if I do not give the King the disciplined obedience of a royal subject. I cannot say YOURS IS THE POWER, if I fear what my neighbours and friends may say or do. I cannot say YOURS IS THE GLORY, if I am seeking my own glory first. I cannot say FOREVER, if I am not anxious about each day's affairs. I cannot say AMEN unless I honestly say, "Cost what it may this is my Prayer". -- author unknown. |

218 | Love is not a feeling | John 13:1 | azurelaw | 219722
Dear Yen, I would like to echo with what Brother Beja said. And I have to say that it is very disappointing to see such a behaviour (I have not expected it from you) on the forum. We have a Chinese saying in describing this unwanted motive as "needles in a pillow". I think you do owe John an apology. Now, I offer 1 Cor 13:4-7 to you, which you have offered to John. And I hope you truly act according to it. Shalom Azure |
