AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 6:52 because they had not understood [the miracle of] the loaves [how it revealed the power and deity of Jesus]; but [in fact] their heart was hardened [being oblivious and indifferent to His amazing works]. |
Subject: Why related it to the feeding of 5000 |
Bible Note: Dear Brother Doc, Thank you very much. The additional insight is very helpful :-) I have also observed the contrast of Mark's portraying the incidents about the reaction of Jesus'(v34) and the disciples' attitude (v36) toward the crowd. It looks like though they had obtained the power of healing, doing miracles and preaching the gospel (v7-13), they have little (or no) compassion/love to the people. As you have rightly said that they would be feeding the sheep and forming the church. And I believe this was Jesus' fore-shadowing their future role in this discipleship incident. Yet, they failed to understand and they did not have the shepherd heart, too. Shalom Azure |
