201 | Using the oldest manuscripts as best? | Mark 16:20 | justme | 79758
When a verse is edited out of scripture because the earliest manuscripts don't have the verse, is it ethical not to have a side note. In Christianity Today of (April 2003) this month there is an advertizement attacking "some popular modern versions..." for "the name Lord, Jesus, and Jesus Christ is deleted in many modern Bible translations?" Then at the botton of the add it says "New research now available in the book" and under this in bold slanted letters "Touch Not The Unclean Thing", Is this kind of "Christian advertizement" not kindling a spirit of false rumors?

203 | Whst should we do to protect ourselves? | Luke | justme | 242742
Christian in WW II especially in Europe literally fought to keep Hitler from taking their countries. I am aware that large number of Christians prayed for his death. Today we have ISIS. Even yesterday 12:2:15 more that 13 people were killed by a Muslim couple close to what some say is an ISIS group. I have read the a good portion of the Qur'an. How can anyone believe such a hateful religion. Muslims are taught in the Qur'an that Jews and Christians are evil and deserve death. What I call good the Qur'an says is good. Often I have brief contact with Muslims. The experience is neither good or bad. More like I am totally ignored, or in a store the isle is blocked so you can not pass due to their numbers. There is no way to witness at all. I find the men as unrecognizable as being Muslim. There is always one or two men watching over the women as they shop, and they make it clear that they are there to protect and watch over the women. This is a difficult situation as the Mosque that is located in this area was caught by the US Government authorities sending funds to terrorists groups a few years ago. Here is my question besides praying for Muslims, and fearing what this religion may do just what should we do to be prepared to do incase of a up rising? |

204 | How do we have a good prayer life? | Luke 2:37 | justme | 59465
Why is prayer such a difficult thing for Christians? I have been reading SECRETTS OF FAITH WELL LIVED, by Christopher Coppernoll. In the book Coppernoll interviews 14 different authors. Like Max Lucado, Brennan Manning, Steve Brown, and others well known. Every one spoke of how little Christians pray. Interesting was how many pastors admitted to having such a problem with their prayer life. With so much effort as we put into this Forum, do we have a full prayer life? I an searching for someone who has a prayer life that can tell me how they go about their prayer life that makes them feel effective. Thank you for who ever answers. agape, justme |

205 | Islam the religion that hates Christians | Luke 6:28 | justme | 241970
I BOUGHT A English translation of the Qur"an. After reading it I have strong feelings about Muslim's. Anyone who says that Islam is a religion of peace has not read the Qur'an. The Qur'an calls for Muslims to make war with Christians and Jews. Chapter 9:29. Muslims are commanded to kill idolaters who do not accept Islam. hose who believe Jesus is God are infidels. Jews and Christians are to be attacked and terrorized. Muslims are to lie and deceive infidels (Christian's and Jew's). The way Muslim men are to treat women is horrid to say the least. Muslim men can have more than one wife, and their treatment of young females is unbelievable. I see Islam as a religion in which Satan is very pleased with. When is see so many people on TV are saying how kind, peaceful Muslims are, I can hardly believe what I am hearing. I see how many Muslims have been placed in very important positions in our government I am deeply concerned. When I see a Muslim in a store I have strong feelings that bother me. How am I as a Christian to treat these people of this religion of hate and deception? justme |

207 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Luke 18:18 | justme | 90970
Why do those of you who use the title PASTOR, REV., OVERSEER, ELDER, DEACON, DR., or something simular do so? Is the use of these titles a way of assueing me you know more than me, or that you have more spirituallity? For me these titles are used by the Church you belong to or the denomination with whom you belong to. In this Forum we are just men and women exchanging questions, or attempting to understand the Bible better. I personally find the use of these titles in the Forum forcing others to show respect to your title, rather than the Bible wisdom you have. Any thoughts?
208 | Jesus Christ your Lord? | Luke 22:19 | justme | 238782
I praise God for His Son Jesus Christ. Today we may celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ and rightfully so. But in reality the Most wonderful day is the day Jesus Christ arose from the grave. We have a LORD who conquered death so we can live with Him forever in a home He has prepared for us. I pray all of you have surrendered to Jesus Christ and have asked Jesus to forgive your sins, and made the choice to become a follower of Jesus Christ. God bless each of you! And a very blessed Christmas. Justme |

210 | Christian Nurture? | John 1:12 | justme | 172439
Hobbs: Thanks for your response, this is not an easy question to answer. Children develope differently even though they may be the same age. The developement of cognitive and abstract thinking are age issues that enter into relating salvation to children. There are several Christian writers who have attempted to show how Christians develope into maturity. James W Fowler has written two excellent books, FAITH DEVELOPEMENT and STAGES OF FAITH. There is a suggestion that children are nutured into salvation. Being so nurtured in the Lord and Scripture are such a part of their developement they grow into salvation, knowing what sin is and who Jesus was and is. This has some valid ideas and is worthy of further consideration. What are your thoughts? Blessings. Justme |

218 | Thinking about Judas, chosen or? | John 13:27 | justme | 236512
Was Judas created by God especially by God to betray Jesus, or did God select the man with the hardest heart on earth at the time? Jesus was fully aware that Judas would betray Him, that is clearly recorded in Scripture for us. If you could pease use Scripture to be included with your answer. Is there any room for opinion in this? Blessings. justme |

220 | Do you have a Prodigal in your family? | John 13:35 | justme | 65341
Does anyone have a Prodigal in their life. My wife and I found a book by Ruth Bell Graham, called PRODIGALS (AND THOSE WHO LOVE THEN). We have wept and felt helpless, and prayed for our Prodigal. We have felt isolated, and kept our Prodigal situation to our self. Mainly because of judgements, and fear. This book is a healing that I would like to help anyother family that has a Prodigal in the family. This is a book of hope when you feel all hope is gone. I hope this helps someone else out there in the forum. I know we are not alone. justme |
