181 | Worship after church? | Matthew | justme | 235817
Many christains like me, do not worship on the sabbath. My question is how should we worship on Sunday? Should we not do many of thethings Sabbath worshipers do. Often christians go to movies, golfing, shopping, or anything they like. How much of what keeping the Sabbath regulations should we carry over, if any at all. I kwon we are not under the LAW, but under the Grace of the LORD. Somehow tis seems very odd that people go to church and maybe Sunday School and after church is out they do anything. This has really brought me to question how we worship GOD. Thanks justme |

183 | Babylon's name today? | Matt 1:11 | justme | 48523

184 | How do we have a good prayer life? | Matt 6:6 | justme | 59461
Why is prayer such a difficult thing for Christians? I have been reading SECRETTS OF FAITH WELL LIVED, by Christopher Coppernoll. In the book Coppernoll interviews 14 different authors. Like Max Lucado, Brennan Manning, Steve Brown, and others well known. Every one spoke of how little Christians pray. Interesting was how many pastors admitted to having such a problem with their prayer life. With so much effort as we put into this Forum, do we have a full prayer life? I an searching for someone who has a prayer life that can tell me how they go about their prayer life that makes them feel effective. Thank you for who ever answers. agape, justme |

185 | Demons? Today? | Matt 8:31 | justme | 109442
There are several instances of Jesus casting out Demons. Often the Demons talked to Jesus. My question is, How does that relate to people today? Are non-christians today controled by demons? Would we also hear them speak? What are some valid proveable instances of casting out demons today. Is casting out demons really psychological illness on the part of so called victims? PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME EXAMPLES OF Benny Hinn or Copland or Word of Faith teachers! |

186 | Prodigal what do we do? | Matt 21:22 | justme | 65737
Prodigal children, husbands, wives bring us deep pain, and the end results can be broken relationships, and be so very painfull. Last week I questioned if anyone has a prodigal. The response was quite touching. Many have their grown children who are Christians living together. This is, I believe a wide spred sin taking place through out our country and Christian homes. Parents are unsure how to deal with it. Do we build bridges or build walls with our prodigals? I would like to start a thread on this subject. I think this will bring out some healing which is deeply needed. Perhaps even save someones life. If you have a Prodigal or would have some good imput please share it as there are millions of familys dealing with this bashfull, shamefull subject. How do we deal with PRODIGALS? justme |

188 | Matthew 24:7 missing word? | Matt 24:7 | justme | 177808
In the Greek New Testament, Matthew 24:7 ".....and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes...." The KJV says "....there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes,...." The NASB "....there will befamines and earthquakes." In reasearching this verse after looking into many ranslations, the word "plagues" and or "pestilences" has been removed. Yet in the Inerlinear Greek-English NEW TESTAMENT by J p. Green the word "plagues" is there with the Strong's Concordance number of 3061. I have great respect for the translators of the NASB and the ESV, and both have no reference to either "Plagues" or "pestilences". The NIV also leaves of the reference of either word. After spending most of this morning looking for reason for the absence of the two words, I have reached a dead end in my study. Can anyone give me a clue as to what the reason is for not using either of the words in more recent translations. The only thing I can think of would be that in early manuscripst neither word is present. But, that's only my guess. Thank's for your help. Justme |

189 | Is the Greek-English an older version? | Matt 24:7 | justme | 177811
Mark: After researching with all my "tools" I came to that conclusion, on my own, but wanted a more informed answer. But why does the Greek-English NT I have have Strongs 3061 as a referance. I believe this is post 1940 or ealier Greek-English text? Thanks again Mark. Justme |

191 | Can Christians be fooled by a 4 year old | Matt 24:24 | justme | 241896
Can Christians be fooled? Yes, when we take something or someone that adds to or takes a false story and makes it look and sound so real. The key to being sure something is true is the BIBLE. Recently over the last couple of years, Alex Malarkey told the story how he went to heaven and came back with a fantastic thrilling story of what heaven is like. He and his pastor father and mother were on TV and in churches telling of his wonderful event that took pace as he was in a coma. His story of his event that happened to this four year old was put in bool form, THE BOY WHO CAME BACK FROM HEAVEN. Most Christian and secular book stores had this yellow covered book placed where you could not miss it. Many Christian TV stations stood behind Alex and praised the book and even encouraged Christians to order it now, from the TV station. Here is the point, NEVER believe anything that is not inline with the BIBLE. MSN today January 16, 2015 "Alex Malarkey recanted his story as a lie. He said all people need to do is read the Bible. LifeWay Christian Book store is pulling all the books as so is many other stores. So many Christians were fooled. This has to be the spoof of the 21st century. justme |

192 | Pre Tribulation rapture? | Matt 24:30 | justme | 75165
In Matthew 24:29-31 the NASB updated. Says "But immediately after the tribulation............ verse 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear...... After studing this chapter and I am reminded this is what Jesus said would happen, how does anyone come up witha pretrib, rapture theory? Was not Darby who in the early 1800's who first come up with this theory? From what I have read the early church Fathers believed Christ would come as Matthew 24:29-31 states. Any coments?
193 | Evidence for "easter"? | Matt 28:6 | justme | 227351

194 | Sunday Sabbath or not? | Mark 2:27 | justme | 232709
I have been searching for a solid answer about the Sabbath. I have always worshiped on Sunday. But here is something that I am thinking about. Today we believe in every Commandment but Sabbath worship. Why. Now I have always thought worship on Sunday is the same, but it is not. Sabbath is a time of rest, but for me all my life the only real rest might of been a nap. Today we play every sport, or watch them. We shop, go to movies, play golf, cards, just about everything, but little relates to even thinking about God. Here is my concern, question, Is worship on Sunday morning, or evening, if your church has a evening service, really the same as what done before Jesus died? I know some things like no cooking was a man made, but the way most of us do is not a day of rest, but a day off to do as we see fit, after Sunday worship. In my mind something is just not right. Is anyone else thinking like me? just me |

195 | Mark 7:4 NASB skips couchs or beds, Why | Mark 7:4 | justme | 78892
Whomever asked about Mark 7:3 and why the NASB did not have "beds and couches" Lockman editorial board responded to this, in this way. "The phrase in question does not occur in the best and oldest Greek manuscripts. Also, late manuscripts that have phrase do not have "beds and couchs" but only the word "and" followed by one word which can be translated as "beds" or "couchs" (Greek "klinon"). I hope this helps in answering the question brought up in the forum. With peace to all. justme |

196 | What common beliefs does the Forum have? | Mark 9:39 | justme | 91149
Forum: I have noticed we have a wide range of Biblical beliefs in the Forum. There are wide gaps in theology, and a wide understanding as to what 'Born again" really means. This is to say nothing of eternal security, baptism, gifts of the Holy Spirir, and the list seems endless. I ask my self what are some basic beliefs we ALL share in common? I wonder is we can come to some common basic beliefs. Is there anyone in the forum that does not believe Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary? I would like to take this one step at a time and see how much we do believe the same. This is not intended to offend anyone but to see what Doctrines we all hold. Blessings. justme |

198 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Mark 10:18 | justme | 90972
Why do those of you who use the title PASTOR, REV., OVERSEER, ELDER, DEACON, DR., or something simular do so? Is the use of these titles a way of assueing me you know more than me, or that you have more spirituallity? For me these titles are used by the Church you belong to or the denomination with whom you belong to. In this Forum we are just men and women exchanging questions, or attempting to understand the Bible better. I personally find the use of these titles in the Forum forcing others to show respect to your title, rather than the Bible wisdom you have. Any thoughts?
199 | Mark 10:24 ending change, why? | Mark 10:24 | justme | 239277
In Mark 10:24 the NKJ reads at the end of the verse "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the Kingdom of God." After checking a number of more recent translations the later part listed above is no longer there. None of the translations I have had a side note or any explanation for the removal. Was this added by a scribe before the 1611 KJV? I am now looking for other older translations for some hint. Does anyone know FOR SURE why this verse was changed? Please give your source of information. Thanks justme |

200 | Where the Scriptual proof? | Mark 16:16 | justme | 111204
Nice comment. But these are your words. Where is the Scripture to back up your thoughts? These are just fancy words by you, unless you have Scripture to prove what you say. Would you mind proving what you say with Scripture? justme |
