242 | Romans Road verses inorder please? | Romans | justme | 62204
I am looking for the exact scripture order of the "ROMANS ROAD". I have used what I think is the Romans Road, of leading others to Christ. This has worked very well for me, for several years. However, recently someone told me I have it in a different way then they had seen. They did not have their Bible with them, and could not remember exactly how it went. If some one could give me the verses in the correct order I would be pleased, Thank you and God bless. justme |

244 | Free will, or ? | Rom 9:16 | justme | 243111
Calvinists have used Romans 9 as one of several proof texts. Some who are not as dogmatic use Romans 10 as a reason to say that this chapter is where free will enters into the debate. I am my self wondering just how deeply this really matters. I have tried to side step the debate on being called, which to me means after a person makes the choice to become a loyal follower of Christ Jesus. It seems to me the strong Calvinist is too strong. Can someone help me understand why free will is not free will as it seems to me Calvinists are saying? justme |

249 | As Christians should we openly support? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 243771
Every four years the election of a President brings all kinds of view points. I have yet to see one where good meaning Christians done stand on opposite ends saying Jesus is on this side and not yours. The 2016 year election is even more so than other years. Liberty Universities president Dr. fawell has come out and stated who he supports for President. There have been a larger number of well known Christian Leaders who have also come out to cast their support for the same person as dr. Fallwell. This has me bewildered, as the person they are backing seems to be questionable in regards to their faith in Christ being genuine. With recent revelations about the person these Christian leaders are supporting in him having some serious character flaws that bring the genuineness of his faith, this seems to his supporters did not really know the person they stood behind. Now comes the sticky wicket. When we as Christians give political support, aren't we saying as Christians we feel this person has the things we think a Christian should have? For me I personally would rather say I stand for the Party which supports a pro life position, rather than casting my open support for a person who may come out with serious questionable character and moral flaws. When we as a Christian leaders place our open support for anything that could cause shame to the name of Christ, I believe it behooves at least me, to be very careful in what, who or anything I openly support saying as a Christian I approve anything. I am keenly aware of the many serious issues this Presidential has tied to it. I get how the next persons going to the Supreme Court are dependent on who gets elected as the President. I also see how Christians supporting both persons running have attacked each other, all using the word "Christian" as if God were on their side. Once again even though these are just working class people with not much influence they too are using Christ as proof of what seems to me as Christ is backing the person I support. Here is my question; as a citizen and Christ follower just how much written and vocal support should we give? When is it acceptable to lend our faith in Christ to support a person running for any public office? Also if you are running for office is it wise to openly say you are a Christian when running for office. Should leaders in places of leadership, like a University come out and use your position to support a person running for election? As a side note, I believe God will give the United States the person he feels will accomplish His will. Justme |

253 | How do we deal with PRODIGALS? | 1 Corinthians | justme | 65727
Prodigal children, husbands, wives bring us deep pain, and the end results can be broken relationships, and be so very painfull. Last week I questioned if anyone has a prodigal. The response was quite touching. Many have their grown children who are Christians living together. This is, I believe a wide spred sin taking place through out our country and Christian homes. Parents are unsure how to deal with it. Do we build bridges or build walls with our prodigals? I would like to start a thread on this subject. I think this will bring out some healing which is deeply needed. Perhaps even save someones life. If you have a Prodigal or would have some good imput please share it as there are millions of familys dealing with this bashfull, shamefull subject. How do we deal with PRODIGALS? justme |

260 | What do we focus on? | 1 Cor 12:13 | justme | 183425
Jeff: Denominations are made up of believers, or at least they say they are believers. Just as there are no perfect Christians, churches, or denominations, everything falls short of what God would expect. I have heard much criticism of denominations for many years. Rarely have I heard how a denomination has done so much in the name of Jesus and there is praise for the denominations. But, the denominations I have been involved with have done much to show genuine Christian love and reach out to the unloveable, feed the poor and clothe, shelter, and provide for those in need. In times of national crisis, be it fire, storms, war. or whatever the need there are those denominations that have been there in the name of Jesus. The Souther Baptis have made more meals in the USA in the last two years than any organization. In Bolivia in 1982 when the country was in a general strike when some independant missionaries has no way to get food or fuel. The Canada Missions board sent supplies to help the coworkers in Christ. Ther have been times when independant missionaries had no money for a return flight home that other brethern in Christ belonging to denominations stepped in and brought them home. I have nothing against nondenominational churches or misssion work. But, I am very supportive of at least the denominations I have belonged to. Yes Jeff, there are tares of many kinds. I personally focus on the good that is been done and being done, and not on the negative. I see the end where Christ and His bride are together for eternity, not the evil one that overcomes us. I may well see the glass half full. I don't spend much effort on the empty side of the glass. Blessings Jeff. justme |
