Greetings wejlly, According to the gospel of John the opposite it true. One’s fate is determined while they are “still alive and residing on this earth”. John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is backed up with the following verses as well. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. One knows if they have eternal life before they die that or they don’t actually have it and if a person doesn’t believe this they in effect are making God out to be a liar! 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Harsh but true, if one doesn’t fully trust in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, there is no hope for them and these aren’t my words but God’s! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. There are those that would argue with this fact, that’s because they haven’t experienced it yet. Ephes. 1:12-14 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. It's in the Old Testament: Psalm 22:6-8 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. 7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, 8He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. |

Hi Searcher, Good point! Have you noticed how many never respond with a comment to the answers they are given? Some times I wonder if they really know how when they are presented with the e-mail notice from the forum. Maybe better instructions would be in order if the forum is to keep things rolling? CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. The answer: God’s Holy and eternal Word. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 147 | Does the bible have anything on cloning? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222207
Greetings Frannymay2 and welcome to the bibleforum. The Bible doesn’t use the word cloning, instead the word conformed is used; It’s God’s objective that we be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ which is like cloning because one must be born again from God for it to start. Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. It is an actual process that God puts in motion the very moment one puts their undivided trust in the one that God sent to Earth to bring people into a relationship with Himself; that person is the risen "living" Jesus Christ. Have you personally started a relationship with God through the person of His Son, Jesus Christ? Many assume that they have through various religious act of one sort or another but the Bible declares that they are in for a big surprise when they take their last breath. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. God wants to transform our way of thinking into His way of thinking. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. This relationship, of knowing Jesus personally, is free and open to all that are willing to seek the Lord through His Word the Bible. God promises eternal life to all that experience this fantastic relationship and it’s a free gift from God Himself, are you interested? CDBJ |

148 | help with homosexuality | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222210
Greetings and welcome to the forum. There isn’t anything that can be done by people the answer to your question resides with the Lord. The best information I could give would be to start reading in Matthew which is the first book of the “New Testament” and continue right through to Revelation and ask the Lord to reveal the truth that is contained within its pages. With mankind it’s imposable but with God all thing are possible. I’m not going to tell you that what she is experiencing is a sin because the fact is we are all sinners in God’s sight, and one persons sins aren’t any more refined then someone else’s. What might shock some people that are self righteous wouldn’t even hold a candle to what God calls the seven worst sins. Get her reading God’s Word, the Bible and let God do the fixing and it will last! CDBJ |

149 | Will we ever see God the Father? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222372
Greetings and welcome to the forum. With the following passage in mind the answer is yes. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. The key here is the pure in heart. Only those that have put “all of their hope” for eternal life in the person and work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, will experience this fantastic advantage. 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Have you come to this point yet in your spiritual walk where you know for sure that you have eternal life? 150 | Can God see into the future? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222374
Greetings and I hope you enjoy the forum. The first mention of this situation was a general statement and later the full stipulation is brought to the forefront. From the (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 4. THE REJECTION OF THE PRIESTHOOD (2:27-36) 2:27-36. It is no wonder that God rejected the priesthood of Eli and his sons. After reviewing the circumstances of the selection of Eli’s ancestors to be priests of the LORD over Israel (vv. 27-28), an unnamed man of God announced to Eli that his priesthood would end because it had violated the conditions for its ongoing existence (vv. 29-33). Yet the LORD would not terminate the office of priest altogether for He would raise up… a faithful priest (v. 35) whose line of succession (house) would be firmly established and who would minister before His anointed one (i.e., the king) forever. In human terms this was fulfilled when the priesthood was taken from Abiathar, descendant of Aaron’s son Ithamar, and given to Zadok, descendant of Aaron’s son Eleazar (1 Kings 2:27, 35). But in the ultimate sense the “faithful Priest” and “Anointed One” are One and the same, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is both Priest and King (Ps. 110; Heb. 5:6; Rev. 19:16). CDBJ |

151 | Will we ever see God the Father? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 222382
Greetings, God is one in essence but "three in personalities". Jesus said that he has seen the Father so He is visible. John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. All truly born again believers are "of the Father" at the point of their new birth in the spirit. John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Couple that verse with the following and it pretty much makes it conclusive that we will have the ability to see the Father since we will be like Jesus. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. I don’t believe that we will be restricted to only seeing one of God’s personalities, i.e. not the Son only but the Father also. Have a great day, CDBJ |

I neglected to mention what Steven saw when he was being stoned. He himself saw two objects in the following verse. Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, Psalm 110:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. One had to be the Father and the other was Jesus and it was the Holy Spirit that made it all possible and God is no respecter of persons so what Steven saw we will be able to see as well. CDBJ |

156 | Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 223617
When Christ was on the cross He in fact said “my God, my God why have you forsaken me”. We must remember that the New Testament was written in the Koine Greek and the word for death or, THANATOS, actually means separation. There are seven different types of death mentioned in Scripture and the one for sin is separation from God. Romans 6:23 (A) For the wages of sin is death; John chapter 19 tells us something that is often not notice by casual observation. John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The word for finished in the Koine Greek come to us from the word, TETLESTAI. The etymology of this word is said to have originated in the slave market; signifying that the price agreed for a particular slave had been paid in full and the gavel was struck completing the transaction. The one holding the sale would holler out “TETLESTAI” there by sealing the transaction and showing the completion of that sale was over and finished. The price for sin, demanded by God, and paid for by God’s appointed one, Jesus the Christ had been totally paid for in full and nothing more is ever required! Now God can offer salvation to mankind as a free gift to man, paid for by the God Man Himself, Jesus. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: The fact is that Jesus made this exclamation while He was “still alive in the flesh”, signifying that the total price for sin was paid, i.e. separation from God. It was “just after this” that He bowed His head and His soul separated from His body and He died physically: so one could say theoretically that He actually died twice while on the cross, spiritually and physically.
