121 | Salvation for the Gentiles | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 219662
I suppose you will consider this unethical from you viewpoint as well but the Jews received the same gospel message that was destined for the gentiles. Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Faith, being a transitive verb, must have an object and the object is God’s appointed one which is Jesus Christ Himself. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 53:1-12 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Some people have the same problem today as the did in the days of Isaiah! Isaiah 6:9-10 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. What more is needed? CDBJ |

122 | When were saints of the OT born again? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 219750
After accidentally considering several verses alongside each other I’ve come up with a perplexing question. I will start with the verses that influenced my trend of thought then ask for you input. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (Critical point: unless one is born again) (Further consideration: he cannot enter into the kingdom of God apart from being born again!) John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 1st premise: There is a necessity of the utmost importance that one must be “born again” if they wish to enter heaven. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 2nd Premise from the following verse: at this particular point in time Jesus was the only begotten Son of God. The way is open for others to become sons or offspring of God is shown in the next verse. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, The next verse to consider speaks of the first-born, i.e. there “will be more” but Jesus is the first. Hebrews 1:6 And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM." 3rd premise Jesus was the “first of many” to come due to the use of the word “first-born” now instead of only begotten; forethought is the consideration of sons to come. (We are getting closer to the postulate and here is what I like to call the zinger.) When where the believers of the Old Testament actually born again, considering John 3:5 is a must and comparing it to the fact that Jesus was the first born among many brethren. Romans 8:28 I personally think the answer might resides somewhere in the following verse by I would like more input into the matter. 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (Finally the question) Could this be “part of the reason” that the souls of the Old Testament believers were restrained in sheol and not born again until the sacrifice of the lamb of God was resurrected and the Old Testament saints weren’t actually born again until, as 1 peter states in 1:3, “be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”? This verse should likely be included. Ephes. 4:8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." Thanks ahead for your response, CDBJ |

Greetings N84bus88 and welcome to the forum. If you can show me, from the Bible, where a tear drop fell from heave then I can show you your answer. 124 | Chgs - early Jeruselem Church structure? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 220242
Greetings Behumble and welcome to the forum. It’s been somewhat of an unwritten rule that the forum members shy away from answering questions that are proposed by those that are trying to acquire an education in Bible classes or seminary classes. The object of the classes is to teach students how to dig out biblical answers from Scripture on their own not receive help from a worldwide network of Christians from a forum. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Don’t you think that’s a little bit on the shady side? CDBJ |

127 | Explanation of Ezekiel 44 | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 220477
This might help; it’s from the (Bible Knowledge Commentary). The temple ministers (chap. 44) 44:1-3. Ezekiel had been standing in the inner court of the temple, receiving instructions about the altar there (43:5). Now he was led out of the inner court to the east gate of the outer court, and it was shut. This gate at the outer court opened toward the Kidron Valley and the Mount of Olives. Ezekiel had just seen the Lord enter it on His return to His temple (43:4). God’s presence had hallowed the gate. Therefore it is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. No one else will be allowed to tread through the gate which God Himself had entered. Some have thought that the “Golden Gate” of Jerusalem, now sealed, is the gate spoken of here. However, the dimensions of the “Golden Gate” do not correspond with Ezekiel’s gate, which is still future. Only one person will be allowed to enter through the east gate complex: the prince himself (cf. 46:2). This prince has already been identified as King David (cf. 34:24; 37:24-25). He will be allowed to eat in the gate, possibly referring to the fellowship offerings which the worshipers will eat after offering them to the Lord (cf. Lev. 7:15-21). The portico (vestibule) faces the outer court (see the eastern G1 in the sketch “The Millennial Temple,” near Ezek. 40:1-4), so David, going east, will enter the gate complex from the outer court. 129 | will there be animals in heaven | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 220693
Hi Doc, I agree with your answer with the exception of the reference to horses that are mentioned in Revelation. There is a book out called, “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn that has really been a blessing to me; I love animals and he points out verses that expound on the fact that animals will be with us where we will be spending eternity with the Lord. Col. 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. The Lord saw fit to make all of the animals that we know of now, why would He do any different when he creates a new heaven and a new earth. It pleased Him the first time and all of creation is waiting for the new creation including the animals. Romans 8:22-23 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. The Lord might even bless us with our precious pets that have passed on and that not because of anything they have done but because of man’s sin. It’s a possibility that could come to fruition and they could be with us again. I might end up with black cat hair all over my nice white rob but I’ll love it! CDBJ |

131 | What should I read first? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 220905
Hi Mary Ann D and welcome to the forum. Just starting anywhere in the Bible and reading it is like opening up a math book to geometry and trying to figure out how to do it without even knowing addition. I would strongly recommend that you start in the New Testament in the book of John, which is the fourth book in the N.T. Before you try to read it pray and ask God to reveal the truth that it contains within its pages. After you read the Gospel of John then I would then go back to Matthew then Mark and Luke then read John again before proceeding on through the rest of the New Testament. One can’t understand the Old Testament without the knowledge of the New Testament, it just won’t make sense. God wants to revel His Son Jesus Christ to you so you can understand His precious Word. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

134 | why was Jesus born | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221237
I believe the answer to your question resides in, Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. CDBJ |

135 | Resurrection Day or easter ? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221689
Hi Justme, I agree with you 100 percent and the fact that we call it Easter makes me bilious to say the least!!! It should be the fulfillment of the feast of the firstfruits or FIRSTFRUITS. The feast of firstfruits were the “rehearsals” for what Jesus finally accomplished in reality! The larger harvest is yet to come when the wheat will be gathered, i.e. all born again believers in Jesus the Christ! CDBJ |

136 | will we be here for the tribulation | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221741
Greetings jaharp101 and welcome to the forum. There are several trains of thought on that very question and they are all expounded on by very astute believers in Christ, of which I hope you are one with Christ within the fold! May I start by listing a few that I’m well acquainted with? There are preterits, pretribulation, Midtribulation, post tribulation, and prewrath. All of these different views expound on the timing of what is known as the period of great tribulation and when the believers in Jesus will be gathered together with Him in the air. I use to reside in the second of those mentioned but through comparing scripture with scripture I ended up in the latter, due to endless hours of studying in the Word. Those that hold to a particular point of view emphasize their own pet verses and neglect to use other verses even in view of the fact that they all reside in God’s word; kind of like selective functioning, if you will. One hasn’t found the actual truth of any Bible doctrine until all of the scripture on any given subject is used and there is no contradiction. Psalm 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. Emphasis in the following verse is placed on the word, ALL! 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Example, it’s like adding fractions. I use this illustration taken from, “The Rapture Question Answered plain and simple” by Robert Van Kampen which I would highly recommend if studying the timing of Christ’s return for His elect. One must find the common denominator, where all the verses fit, or they don’t have the right answer to the doctrine they desire to understand. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I hope this helps and that you enjoy the forum as much as I have, CDBJ |

138 | john 3'16 | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221846
Greetings wejlly, Thank you for the testimony. Can you imagine what the believers, in Jesus, thought as they were going through the horrors of the dark days of World War II? I believe things are going to get so bad before the Lord’s return that even believers, so called, will fall away from their churches; but “are they of us, as John would say”. Paul informs us: 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; I am convinced that the Lord will put off His return to allow that last loving soul to repent and trust in the finished works of Christ before he returns. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The general train of thought is that the Lord will return soon, but “what if” He delays His coming and returns when things are so miserable that we can barely stand it along with all the persecution and testing? It’s easy to remain ready when things are going smooth but we are warned numerous times of a possible delay. Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Our condition might be so dire that the following could be true due to excessive persecution. Luke 17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. This parable would certainly fit the model of our earnest prayer for deliverance in a time when the adversary could be having his way with the elect. Rev. 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Luke 18:1-8 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? I hope that the faith of many won’t fail because they had been taught that they wouldn’t suffer such things because Paul says otherwise. 2 Thes. 1:4-10 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Have a great day and “remain steadfast”, CDBJ |

139 | four living creatures in book ezekiel? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221863
Greetings and welcome to the forum. You might want to try a comparison check with the following? Rev. 4:6-9 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, CDBJ |

140 | removal of Holy Spirit | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 221921
Greetings and welcome to the forum. It’s impossible to remove God since it would be in opposition to His essence, one of which is omnipresent or being everywhere at the same time. It’s also wrong to assume that it is the church since the grammatical structure places the restrainer in the masculine gender and the church is always designated in the feminine gender. There is another solution that you might want to consider for the one that will be ordered to stop restraining during the period just before the last 3 and ½ years which is the time spoken of by Christ in the following; Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Compare that verse with this section of verses. Daniel 12:1-4 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. From my perspective the one doing the restraining is the job of Michael the archangel. Those periods of time all coincide with the following when the antichrist is given free reign to perform at his will “against the elect” of God. Rev. 13:5-7 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. I hope this helps, CDBJ |
