Johnny You do not offend me. Your reference to Eph.5:31 regarding a man and his wife becoming one flesh. This again is an example of order. The man is the head of the woman, they have distinct spheres and yet they are equal to each other in the Lord. The reference I gave regarding God being the head of Christ again shows order, not inferiority. Dear brother, I am glad that you agree in the 3 persons of the Godhead. Even the mother of the Lord Jesus could say regarding him "my heart doth rejoice in God my Saviour" In John 17 Jesus prays "This is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." God bless you brother Robert |

142 | Those who call shall be saved | Acts 2:38 | Robert Nicholson | 76652
WELLGLORY: Your statement reminded me of these words from Isaiah: "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him: and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:6-7) An example of a person who called upon the Name of the Lord and was saved in Luke 23: The dying thief "said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into they kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:42) It is important that we respond to the call of the Spirit of God as he works within our lives and speaks to our souls to draw us to Christ. The dying thief was almost too late. Robert |

143 | Does Christ stand alone for salvation?? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 33377
Paul Thank you for your response: I agree that the demons believe and tremble. I believe they tremble because they know that they will be judged by God. Believing in Christ as presented in John 3:16 is a message given to lost human sinners. When we believe on him, we place our faith, our trust, ourselves totally upon his worth and work upon the cross. In John 3 you have mentioned "should not perish" implies conditional. This does not fit with the rest of the chapter, in fact at the end of v.16 we read "but have everlasting life" This is a present possession which we receive upon believing. Everlasting and eternal life is exactly that, it cannot ever be conditional or temporary. According to John 3:36 "they who disobey will incurr the wrath of God". V. 36 shows that there are those who believe and have eternal life and there are those who disobey or believe not and that the "wrath of God abideth on them" This is supported in V. 17 -18 of John 3 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." In our natural state were born dead in tresspasses and in sins and are condemned already in the sight of God. In John 3 we read of our condition, but we also read of God's great provision which is in his Son Jesus Christ. He bore the wrath of God upon himself for our sin on the cross. When we accept our condition and his provision by faith we are forgiven, made alive in him and no longer under the condemnation of God. Hebrews5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" This is a wonderful all encompassing verse. The book of Hebrews speaks of those who before the cross, obeyed God by faith in that they obeyed his word and in Heb.11 those to whom God imputed righteousness. They acted or obeyed God within the light which he had given them and only saw the promise of a coming redeemer in types and shadows. When Christ came into the world, the types and shadows ceased, and we find in his sayings that salvation is in him alone by faith. In Phil. 2:12 "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Paul is writing to Christians who are in Christ and he is looking for obedience from them in the things of God. They are asked to "Work" on that which they have already received. Not only are we saved eternally, we are preserved by the Spirit of God day by day in our lives. If we are willing to obey God's word as revealled to us by his Spirit, he will give us power daily to overcome this sinful world. On the other hand if a Christian is disobedient, we will suffer consequences for our actions. We read that God chastens or punishes sons whom he loves for unjudged sin in their lives. The motive of works after we are saved is that we might bring glory to God and live for him. We also know that in a future day our works will be judged and we will suffer gain or loss. 1 Cor.3:12-15 The gospel of Christ sees us as dead spiritually to God. We cannot use good works in any way to merit his free gift of eternal life. In fact it is an insult to God for me as a lost sinner to try and offer something in addition to the work of Christ on the cross for my salvation. I agree with the first part of your last statement "If all we must do is accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour" However, I believe that we must believe in more than "in his existance. There have been and are many people who believe in a historical Jesus, would cite him as a good example and they claim to believe in God. They are moved when they read of his sufferings on the cross and even believe that this event ocurred in history. Sadly, such a belief does not make them right within. We must be willing to acknowledge and agree with what God has said regarding our lost, sinful condition, we must be willing to accept by faith Jesus Christ as our Savior, as the one who was our subsitute on the cross and turn ourselves completely to him as the Lord of our lives. When God by his Spirit reveals to us that the sacrifice of Christ has satisfied his holy claims against us, the Holy Spirit enters and we are born from above. This birth places us in the family of God by adoption, we are placed as sons. Christians must fear God, not with a fear for our eternal salvation, but a deep respect, that he looks for obedience by those who know him. Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice and they follow me" May God bless you Robert |

144 | Does Christ stand alone for salvation?? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 33520
Brother Joe I agree and enjoy the way you have articulated the following: "We are not saved BY good works, but we are saved UNTO good works. Rejecting either of these two aspects of the role of works is to misrepresent the salvation that God has brought to humanity" Saved for a purpose! I agree that if we never have any desire to know that purpose in our lives there is something very wrong. If we are in such a plight we must check our roots to see if we are truly in Christ. Robert |

Wak I like your summary: faith, love and discipleship The searching question for me as a professing Christian is: Do I rest upon God's word and his promises? faith Does my soul respond to Christ and others in love? Do I follow Jesus or am I just an actor on the stage of life? "My sheep hear my voice and they follow me" John 10 Robert |

146 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 36910
Brother Johnny: Throughout the Old Testament God required certain things of his people. The promise in Gen.3:15 that the seed of the woman once bruise the serpents head is a type of the redeemer who would come and nullify the power of Satan. Every sacrifice under the law spoke of the coming one. The did not know his name but they saw the promise from afar off. As they looked forward to the cross, they rested on God's promises by faith and because of their faith in him, God has imputed to them righteousness. In Hebrews 11 we read of the old testament saints who by faith were imputed righteousness, beginning with Abel. I love the words which God tells us about them: These died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and were pursuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth" (Heb. 11:13) We could say that prophets of old did not know him by name, they however, had faith in God that he would eventually send the saviour into the world. We must remember that the fulfilment of all of Gods promises in redemption are found in Jesus Christ. His sin atoning sacrifice put away sin once and for all, he satisfied the Holy claims of God and because of Christ God can abundantly pardon all who come to him by faith. Thus we can say that those who died in faith before the cross and those who trust Christ after the cross; are all saved by his precious blood. What about those who have never heard in our World? As you have mentioned God has given all men a witness of himself. As you have quoted from Romans we find that the law of right and wrong are written on the tables of our hearts. We have a conscience even if we do not know God. It is God's desire that his people "would go into all the world and preach the gospel" However, we know that in our day there are many whom have not heard. We know that after Christ comes for his church, that upon this earth after this event that a number of Israel will be saved along with a great multitude from every kindred tribe and nation. This is not a second chance for those who reject him now. It is an opportunity for those who have never heard. Johnny, I believe the only people who will go to hell will be those who have chosen to go there. They have made it abundantly clear that they want nothing to do with Jesus during their lives and continue to reject him until they die, they have no hope. They turned against the hope. I hope some of this helps brother Robert |

147 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 37169
Brother Johnny: Paul in writing to the Romans "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first and also the the Greek. Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of God's promises to his people. Upon Calvary's cross he died for the sins of the whole world. The Jews were the first to hear the wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ through Peter in Acts 2:32 Acts 3: 12-26, Acts. 45-12. Peter made it clear that through faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Christ is the only ground upon which they can be accepted. Paul speaks regarding Jews and Gentiles "What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have proved both Jew and Gentiles, that they are all under sin. (Romans 3:9) After the cross the whole world is responsible to God in how they react to the strivings of the Spirit of God and the gospel of Christ. It does not matter what nation or creed they belong to. "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Rom. 3.23 God's promise to Abraham takes in all people. "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee and I will curse them that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed" Abraham means "father of many nations" It is through the seed of Abraham that our Saviour came and provided salvation to all. Johnny: We know that due to unbelief God has set Israel aside nationally. By doing so he has turned to all nations with the Gospel. We also know that the day is coming when God will turn again to Israel nationally. Does this excuse individuals from being lost because of rejecting Christ. Many people as individual from the nation of Israel have been saved through Christ, starting with the apostles and the early church. Even today, Jewish people are accepting Christ as their saviour. If they make the choice to blind their minds to the claims of Christ by adhering to a religious system which ended at Calvary, then it is only God who can enlighten them to the truth which is found in Christ. In our Saviour'name Robert |

148 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 37327
Greetings brother Johnny: I will try to answer your questions as seen from God's Word. Your question "1. If you can answers my question directly, if the Isralites will go to hell because they dont believed in Jesus Christ?" The short answer is "Yes" because it is only through faith in the work of Christ that man can be justified. Paul deals with this topic in when writing to the Galations. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified"Gal. 2:16 Your question "2. What happened to the promises of God to abraham "everlasting" ? are those promises broken?" My first question would be: What were these promises? God's plan was not clear to Abraham and yet "Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him for righteousness" Gal 3:6 Paul makes it clear that those who "are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." Gal.3:7 Johnny, Remember that God promised him that his seed would be a) as the stars of heaven b) the sand of the sea and c) the dust of the earth Abraham was told "in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed" His blessing is not only for those who are born Jews, but reaches out to all who come to Christ by faith. The covenant to Abraham was one of faith. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3:28-29) The blessing promised to Abraham is through Christ. Christ is the fulfilment of that promise. God has not gone back on his promises or broken his promises to Abraham. The apparent failure to Israel is because of their unbelief. "Brethren, my hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant (willingly) of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law and righteousness to every one that believeth" Romans 10:1-4 Dear brother, God has blessed his people abundantly, they were given the prophecies which spoke of the coming Christ to earth, he came to his own people first, his disciples were taken from his own people, he died upon the cross according to the prophecies written of him, he was buried, he arose again the third day and after his resurrection some of the old testament saints arose and appeared to many. It was from this backdrop that Peter preaches first to his own nation "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12 The message is the same today, to all people of all nations, that there is only one way to enter into the promises of Abraham, and that is by faith in the work of Christ. If we refuse to accept this truth, then we will miss the blessing. Peace in his name Robert |

149 | Didn't God give man freedom of choice? | Romans | Robert Nicholson | 66551
Greetings Teacher: I respect your opinion and know that his disagreement has been going on for years. The reason that I believe that one can know that they have eternal life is based simply upon the promises of Christ himself and God's word. I find that when we discuss this question that much of the disagreement is due to persective. Some would teach that we can be saved and then turn away and lose what God has given us in Christ. On the other hand, I believe that in the scriptures and in life we have people who make professions of faith in Christ and for a while they appear to walk, talk and act like a Christian. However, as time some will turn against Christ and there lost will be much like 2 Peter 2 in that they are the worst for ever knowing something of Christ in the first place. I do not think these people fell away, but that they were never born again in the first place. I know this is where the argument starts. In 2 Peter 2 we are being warned of false teachers v. 1 "who secretly brin in in damnable heresies, even deny the Lord who bought the, ..." I believe that these are apostates of the worst kind. I see an apostate as one who has been made aware of the truth, who seem to have grasped it and yet they turn away and pervert the truth. In 2 Peter 2: 4-20 we are given solemn warnings that God will judge such people. The characteristics of such teachers are: a) they are eloquent and deceptive v.3 b) there motive is self not for Christ v.3, v14 c) they walk after the flesh v.10 c) they have no respect for man or God v.10-11 e) they cannot cease from sin v.14 f) they are wells without water (water speaks of the Spirit of God. In. v. 21-22 we read a sad commentary which is based on the principle that God will judge according to that which we profess. In other words they profess to be teachers of righteousness and yet are agents of satan. Their later end is that they have defiled themselves to the point where they are without hope, they have totally given themselfs to evil and will be judged as such. I believe that in so called Christianity we have the wheat and the tares, the real and the unreal which Jesus referred to in Matt.7:21 "Not every one that saith Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven" However, to those who are saved through faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus said "They shall never perish" John 10:28, "...is passed from death unto life" John 5:24 "...should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16. Paul reminds us "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Cor. 5:17 John gives us the reason for the Holy Scriptures "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God" 1 John 5:14 Peter writes that we are redeemed "...with the precious blood of Christ as a lamb without blemish and without spot" 1 Peter 1:19 I agree that a Christian cannot be perfect, that they will fail and fall, but within their heart the Holy Spirit will speak within their heart and they will have a desire to be right with God. We must remember that we are not clothed in our own righteousness, but in the righteousness of Christ. Peace in his name RobertTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |

150 | Didn't God give man freedom of choice? | Romans | Robert Nicholson | 66984
Dear brother Henri: Greetings in his precious name. In response to your last question "if a "really" saved individual is saved forever, then why does Satan waste his time with us once we've been saved?" In Job 1 we see Satan as the accusser of the righteous. His aim is to discredit those who desire to live for God. Peter warns God's people " Be sober, be vigilant; because your advesary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith..." (1 Peter 5:8) Satan knows that he cannot touch the souls of those who have trusted Christ. However, if he can ruin our testimony or destroy our fellowship with our Heavenly father, he will do it. We can have victory and be overcomers, John tells us in 1 John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world" Henri, in 1 John we find that a Christian has a three fold enemy, the world, the flesh and the devil. As we walk by faith, God is able to give us strength to have victory. In Romans 6:17-18 we are reminded that before we were saved we "were servants of sin", but in Christ we are "made free from sin and became servants of righteousness" I was enjoying the three aspects of our salvation as shown in Paul's words to the Thessalonians in 1 Thess. 1: 9-10 He writes "...how you turned to God from idols" (repentance and faith) "to serve the lving and true God ( the Christian walk by faith) "And to wait for his Son from heaven, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come" (the believer's hope and anticipation) I believe that when we trust Christ we are immediately saved the the penalty of sin. (John 5:24, Rom. 5:1) After we are saved we are delivered or saved from the power of sin and in the future we look forward by faith to the day we will be delivered or saved from the presence of sin altogether when Christ comes. These are just a few thoughts concerning our life in Christ. We fail, but Jesus never fails. God bless you brother Robert |

Dear brother John I was not suggesting that the great multitude was Israel or the Church. But rather a great mulitude from every nation which God by his grace has saved. I believe the gospel of the kingdom will be as relevant as today and their will be those who will trust Christ for salvation. I agree that no one will have eternal life except through Christ. I think that those people in Rev. 7 are people who have trusted Christ for salvation. Our verse summarizes it well. In his care Robert |

152 | wll everyone hear abt jesus before death | Rom 2:13 | Robert Nicholson | 104754
Thank you for the response: I agree that as Christians we some times go beyond the scriptures into the area of wishful thinking. You have asked what doe the Bible teach as the what will happen to those who are saved when they die? The Lord Jesus made clear the purpose of Calvary."If I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there you may be also. Is it no amazing that the Lord Jesus Christ desires those who are saved to be with him? We must divide those who are saved into two classes; those who have died and those who are alive at this time and wait for his coming. The early Christian were concerned with the fated of their saved loved ones who had died. "Would the miss the blessing with Christ at his coming? In 2 Cor. 5 discusses this topic and puts into Christian perspective. In v1 he points out that we live in temporary tent bodies in contrast to the eternal body which will be ours at a later When Christ comes. Paul underlines the security of our salvation "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that , whilst we are a home in the body, we are absent form the Lord:d" V6 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord" V8 What does it mean to be present with the Lord? Paul speaks of this as he nears death "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand" (2 Tim 3V6) As Paul reflects upon this truth, he speaks to the Philippians "For I am betwixt (betweend) two. having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ which is far better..."Phil 1:23 I believe from these few chapters that the Christian who is saved and dies before Christ is absent from the body and Present with the Lord. Praise his name. Furthermore for those of us who are alive await that moment when Christ will come bring with him those who have been with him since their physical death to meet those who are alive, this is when the dead received their resurrection bodies and those who are saved alive on earth will be change "shall be caught up together with the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thess 4:17) The relation which we began with Christ in time when we by faith rested in his work upon the cross is an eternal relation for all eternity May we rejoice as "We wait for his Son from heaven" and impress upon our hearts the great need for our fellow travellers to hear the gospel of his grace, that they too might be saved. 153 | Are christians sinners or not? | Rom 3:23 | Robert Nicholson | 69455
Greetings sister Meredith: Thank you for your thoughtful response. I believe that as those redeemed by the precious blood of Christ that we are forgiven from all sin. I agree that the word sinner or sinners "hamartolos" refers to "those whom you have rightly pointed out who are devoted to sin, not free from sin..."-slaves to sin. In Romans 6: 17-18 we find what has happened when we were born again. "ye (we) were the servants (slaves) of sin,, but you have obedyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you" Being (present/continuous) them made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness" In the above verses we are free from sin, we are no longer slaves to sin and we have a new master which is Christ. When Paul writes to the Romans he addresses them "beloved of God, called to be saints" (note small "s") Romans 1:7 If we followed the epistles we never find the christians addressed as "saved sinners etc." but rather beloved, saints, saints in Christ Jesus, faithful brethren, to the church, my own son in the faith, my dearley beloved son (Timothy) and my little children. We have a high calling in Christ. We have a new relationsip with God as sons or children of the King. However, the reality from a practical perspective, as you have mentioned in Romans 6 "We are to reckon ourselves dead unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord" V.11 Nevertheless, in Romans 7 we find that our "old nature" although reckoned dead is in constant warefare with our new nature which is in Christ. Acccording to Romans 7:25 that we can be delivered on a daily basis "through Jesus Christ our Lord". Thus far there are three important trues: First, when we are saved, we are freed from the power of sin and through the Spirit of God we can have victory. Secondly, Romans 8:26 shows us the intercessory work of the Holy Spirit on behalf even when we don't know what to pray for. Thirdly, 1 John 2:1 "If any sin we have an advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous. What about your original question 1 JOhn 1:8 I am going to make a statement which may get me into trouble. Sin is the accident in the life of the believer, we will not be perfect until Jesus takes us home. However, does accidental sin make me a sinner? if I have already been made a saint when I trusted Christ? I do not believe that if we are redeemed, beloved, called to be saints, servants of righteousness which is a result of the new birth, that we will ever be a slave to sin again. That is what redemption is all about. Jesus paid to price to buy us back from the slave market of sin and set us free. It is out of love and devotion that we are willingly servants of righteousness. I believe what John is teaching is that we still have to contend with the three fold enemy the world, the flesh and the devil and as such we will sin. To suggest that we are unable to sin is a claim which only Christ can own, However, when we sin, we are forgiven, he cannot deny himself. After much thought, I would suggest that those who know Christ are saints who can sin in contrast to sinners who are in salvery to sin. Your brother in Christ Robert Please forgive me for the length of this post. |

154 | All have Sinned ( Men and Women) | Rom 3:23 | Robert Nicholson | 75227
When Adam disobeyed God, the entire human race both men and women were brought under sin. Legally they were condemned, Spiritually they were dead to God and Physically all men would die. In Genesis 3:21 we see the grace of God in that he clothed their shame and nakedness with the skins of animals, nevertheless, they were both sinners in need of a redeemer which was promised in Gen.3:15 The First man Adam and his wife Eve the mother of all living could only reproduce children like themselves, sinners. Sinners by birth, sinners by choice and sinners by practice. In Romans 3 God makes it clear "That there is none righteous, no not one; there is not that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable..."Romans 3:10-12 It is very humbling to our human pride to realize that unless God works with us by his Spirit that we are totally dead to God, that we will not seek him and that we will choose evil rather than Good. This why Paul summerizes all, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 Much distraction is caused in deciding if sin is passed on by the female or the male. It would make sense that since both are sinners and that part of each comes together in the formation of a new child, that we could say the child is a product of his/parents. The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God is eternal. As the eternal son of God the time came when in obedience to his Father's will he took his downward journey into this world via the virgins womb. At his incarnation "he took upon himself the form of a bond servant and was made in the likeness of men" (Phil. 2:7) The Lord told Joseph "for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost". There is no question that this is the One of whom Micah prophesied. ""But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of the shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruller in Israel: whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting" (Micah 5.2) Mary the mother of Jesus was honored to be the vessel who would bring God's son into this world. Nevertheless, Mary was born a sinner and needed a Savior like everyone else. Mary's words would teach us that she was aware of this "My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior." (Luke 1:46-47) "The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23 Robert |

Sniper: Not accountable does not mean innocent. I believe that Romans 5:12 teaches that all are born sinners. As you have quoted Rom. 3:23 "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" There is nothing within the human in their natural state which would make them right with God. It is all of God's grace in that he has provided a way whereby those who did not deserve any of his love can be redeemed and made alive in Christ. How does God accept those who cannot accept him because of age or mental competance? God is sovereign and he can save whom he will, he is not answerable to us. As brother cyclist has pointed out there is not much direct scripture on little children. Abraham said "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" The wrath of God is coming against "those who know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" 2 Thess. 1:8 |

disciplerami: "For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life". Romans 5:17-18 "He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath no believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18) "By the offense of one (Adam)judgment came upon all men" This is not my idea, this is what God says in his word in many different ways. It is God who finds all the world "guilty" Romans 3:19 It is God through Paul who writes "We have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin" Rom. 3:9 The Lord Jesus reminds that those who have not believed on him are "condemned already" John 3:18 In the state which we were born we are already found guilty. Our sinful nature proves itself in our actions "There is none that understandeth, there is none which seeketh after God" Rom. 3:11 If God were to leave us alone we would remain in our guilty state throughout our life and would die condemned. This is where the grace of God comes in and even though we are undeserving of such love, he works within our hearts by his Spirit and many who were guilty are justified (cleared of all guilt) through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the reason I used the word "legally". Adam had broken God's law and as such plunged the entire human race into a place of condemnation before God. In contrast, the Lord Jesus Christ in his obedience even to the death of the cross has brought life and justification to those who believe. |

Dear Marquita: I cannot judge you. However, if God sees same-sex relationships as an abomination than we can not look for his blessing if we continue in sin. If we look at sin as sin, we would not expect a thief to keep on stealing after he is saved. If he tryed to live a double life of crime and for God it would not work. I pray that you put the matter before God and allow him to speak to you through his word. Robert |
