Subject: Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? |
Bible Note: Brother Johnny: Paul in writing to the Romans "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first and also the the Greek. Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of God's promises to his people. Upon Calvary's cross he died for the sins of the whole world. The Jews were the first to hear the wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ through Peter in Acts 2:32 Acts 3: 12-26, Acts. 45-12. Peter made it clear that through faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Christ is the only ground upon which they can be accepted. Paul speaks regarding Jews and Gentiles "What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have proved both Jew and Gentiles, that they are all under sin. (Romans 3:9) After the cross the whole world is responsible to God in how they react to the strivings of the Spirit of God and the gospel of Christ. It does not matter what nation or creed they belong to. "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Rom. 3.23 God's promise to Abraham takes in all people. "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee and I will curse them that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed" Abraham means "father of many nations" It is through the seed of Abraham that our Saviour came and provided salvation to all. Johnny: We know that due to unbelief God has set Israel aside nationally. By doing so he has turned to all nations with the Gospel. We also know that the day is coming when God will turn again to Israel nationally. Does this excuse individuals from being lost because of rejecting Christ. Many people as individual from the nation of Israel have been saved through Christ, starting with the apostles and the early church. Even today, Jewish people are accepting Christ as their saviour. If they make the choice to blind their minds to the claims of Christ by adhering to a religious system which ended at Calvary, then it is only God who can enlighten them to the truth which is found in Christ.
