1222 | Can one pray after his/her death? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214082
Shalom John, This is not prayer for a change of what is already fixed, but it is "prayer" which is what the question was about. Rev. 6:9-11. So, according to that passage, there is definitely prayer-conversation still going on after death... Cheri |

1223 | What would make this allogory? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214226
Greetings John, Very well stated, bro. God's family is made up of all kinds of folks, and we each come with our paint brush and colors. When we all get together, the Spirit comes up with ONE extraordinarily fine picture. Cheri |

1224 | What would make this allogory? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214232
Shalom Bibleman, Sorry, I have neglected to welcome you to SBF. I'm so pleased to have you with us! I thought that they all were, interracial, that is... :o) I attend a fellowship mixed with Jewish believers and gentile believers, and it wouldn't surprise me to find a few ex-catholics (as this state is a big catholic state). We got Russian, Chinese, Mexican, interracial families - all the different colors (not speaking just of skin, but of culture, modes of thinking and behaving, etc.) that make up this little fellowship paints one very beautiful masterpiece that only the Lord could possibly conceive. I feel sooo privileged and blessed to be a part of it. Cheri |

1225 | Additional question! | 1 John 3:9 | skccab | 197373
Shalom jesus1km Once again, let's go to 1 John. This time to 3:5-9 5- And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6- Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7- Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8- He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9- Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. These scriptures simply mean that you (any believer) will not willfully choose to sin, not that they will never commit a wrong. When you find that you have committed a wrong, confess it, clean it up, brush yourself off and move on for Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yeshua, who do not walk according to hte flesh, but according to hte Spirit. Actually, it would be to your benefit if you read the whole book of 1 John (it's very short, will only take about a half hour). Read it prayerfully, it will help aleviate your worries. Cheri |

1226 | Crying out loud Lord rescue me | 1 John 5:13 | skccab | 200180
Shalom Blue Eyes, It's OK, the folks here on SBF just want you to back what you say with scripture, that's all. You didn't say anything wrong at all. You just forgot to say that Philippians 4:8 says that whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, to dwell on these things. I think all would agree that Scripture is something true, and honorable, and lovely, and of good repute, that it is excellent and completely worthy of praise - therefore should be dwelt upon and thought about. So you gave a correct answer/suggestion, just not a scriptural reference. You're not the first to forget scripture reference (I'm highly quilty) and you won't be the last. It's all good. :-) Cheri |

1227 | were does it | Revelation | skccab | 186652
Greetings dltishines The Bible, nowhere, uses the term rapture. It's a catching away of the believers. Many people believe (myself included) that the church is caught away to be forever with the Lord sometime between the end of chapter 3 and the beginning of chapter 4, for the church is no more seen as being on earth. In Rev.4:10. Many scholars believe the elders represent the church. Then in Rev. 19:7-9 they believe it's the church that is attending the marriage supper of the Lamb, and the church that returns with Christ to usher in the millennium. hope this helped a bit love cheri |

1228 | were does it | Revelation | skccab | 186704
Hi John, I just knew someone would come along and explain it better than I could. I'm still at the place where I can say without equivocation that "the Bible says in ..." but chapter and verse elude me. So now I know the Church is raptured somewhere within Rev. 3:11-14. Thank you, brother. love cheri |

1229 | were does it | Revelation | skccab | 186710
Hiya, OK, we can both stand corrected - it's "toward" the end of ch 3 and before ch 4. lol. It's really enough to know that come ch 4 we be in heaven - exactly what verse places us there is not as important as the fact that we are there oops i'm rambling again forgive the lady? love cheri |

1230 | Meaning of 4 beasts in Revelation chapte | Revelation | skccab | 186943
Hi Little Maggie I have checked several commentaries and they all pretty much agree (more or less), so I chose the use an excerpt for John Wesley's Explanatory Notes because, as long as his is it's the shortest one I have. Wesley's Explanatory Notes on Rev. 4:6-7: And in the midst of the throne - With respect to its height. Round about the throne - That is, toward the four quarters, east, west, north, and south. Were four living creatures - Not beasts, no more than birds. These seem to be taken from the cherubim in the visions of Isaiah and Ezekiel, and in the holy of holies. They are doubtless some of the principal powers of heaven; but of what order, it is not easy to determine. It is very probable that the twenty - four elders may represent the Jewish church: their harps seem to intimate their having belonged to the ancient tabernacle service, where they were wont to be used. If so, the living creatures may represent the Christian church. Their number, also, is symbolical of universality, and agrees with the dispensation of the gospel, which extended to all nations under heaven. And the "new song" which they all sing, saying, "Thou hast redeemed us out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation," Rev_5:9, could not possibly suit the Jewish without the Christian church. The first living creature was like a lion - To signify undaunted courage. The second, like a calf - Or ox, Eze_1:10, to signify unwearied patience. The third, with the face of a man - To signify prudence and compassion. The fourth, like an eagle - To signify activity and vigour. Full of eyes - To betoken wisdom and knowledge. Before - To see the face of him that sitteth on the throne. And behind - To see what is done among the creatures. Hope this helps blessings cheri |

1233 | Interpreting Revelation | Revelation | skccab | 190422
When did God end Judaism? Are you speaking of Judaism as religion, heritage or nationality?
1234 | Interpreting Revelation | Revelation | skccab | 190460
Hi RC, Thank you for your reply, but I must disagree for the most part. Judiasm as a "religion" has indeed come full circle - but as a nationality and a heritage, I must disagree. Matt. 5:17 Jesus says He has come not to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfil them. And if as a nationality and a heritage it has been ended then just what are we as Christians grafted into? Re-read your Torah (and you'll also find it in the Haftorah). Too many times the word(s) "forever" and "from generation to generation" are used to ignore them (or to try to re-write them into something else). I am a Gentile, but I would be very sad to see the end of God's Chosen People into which I have been grafted and adopted and given the physical and spiritual promises. (As for the temple - I am still confused concerning the Ezek. temple chapters, just what those chapters represent. I would love for someone to explain those to me.) :-) Cheri |

Yes, Mark, It does. That's kinda what I was thinking. And I'm also thinking that He's already gathering together the "fathers" who will raise the generation to do this. Cheri |

Hi Doc, Sorry so late getting back to you, I work the late shift. I have no problem concerning the sacrifices to do with sins and atonement. And I don't stand firmly here either - but the thanksgiving, heave, drink, and voluntary offerings (to name a few) were said to be a sweet-savor to God. If they were re-instated would they not again be such? We're told He is the same yesterday, today and forever. That's my question concerning the Ezek. temple passages. Still learning Cheri |

1237 | Interpreting Revelation | Revelation | skccab | 190501
Morning Doc, Happy 4th!! Thanks. I was mostly ruminating about the Ezek temple. There's too much detail in it to just skim over it, and it's right after all the other end times prophecies - it has to mean something. I'll just wait - the Lord Himself will show me eventually (either in the Spirit or in person). :-) Thanks again cheri |

1239 | Interpreting Revelation | Revelation | skccab | 190527
RC You said " I am neither a Pre or post Triber or Mid for that matter. I fail to see that if something has been fullfilled completely, why does it have to be done again, And I don't mean a double Prophesy as in Tyre which had Different time fulfillments." You make it sound like you mean Revelation has been fulfilled - that's not possible!! What are you talking about? Cheri |
