121 | Churchianity | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 7846
There has been so much bickering on the forum lately that I feel led to post an email I received written by Mike Forest. I believe we all should read it. It is named Churchianity but could easily be changed to "forum-ianity". I would appreciate it if this would remain on the question board to allow everyone a chance to read it before anyone answers it. I have posted the question twice so that the second can be used for the tree. Thank you ....prayon I have been reading with much interest on the subject of "Churchianity." I would like to make a few comments: For one thing there are no perfect churches because there are no perfect people. It doesn't matter how much we think we have it together spiritually, as soon as we walked into the front door, the church would no longer be perfect, because the Lord is still working on all of us. It cannot even be debated that the Lord did not establish organized religion or denominations, but the question to be asked concerning any church is this: How much of the Lord's presence is in the church? To what degree is Jesus Christ being given first place? Is Jesus really being glorified in this place? Who is really in control, is it the pastor, the deacons, the people, or is it the Spirit of God ? There are denominational churches where God is present, because a place is being given for the Holy Spirit to rule and reign. There are also non-denominational churches and home churches that are totally under the control of some man or group of people, and the Spirit of God is being quenched. Which church do you believe that the Lord is most pleased with? It is not only a question of being in the system or out of the sytem, but the question is this: Are we in the will of God? Are we related to the Body in some way? Are we allowing Jesus Christ to be Lord of our lives? Are we living for Him or just living for ourselves? Several years ago I got the shock of my life when Sharon and I met a couple that I had been corresponding with by E-mail in a home meeting in Alabama. I considered these people to be very spiritual people by the prophetic messages that they were giving out. They had come out of orgnized religion themselves. What I found out made me sick to my stomach because they dominated and took control of the meeting. Another brother even tried to bring a word of correction in love, but they wouldn't hear what he was saying. They wanted to be in control. This really taught me something, that there are some in the Body of Christ that are deceived, because they think they are something special and are not submitted to the Lord or to the rest of the Body but are out there doing their own thing. God has not called anyone to be seperated from the rest of the Body of Christ. We are all members one of another, and the Lord is against this individualism that fragments and breaks the Body apart. The one thing that the enemy is working overtime on is to cause division and strife and break the unity of the Spirit in the church. "For as the Body is one and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many , are one body, so also is Christ." "For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we be (parapharsed) in the "organized church", or outside of it), and have all been made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many." (1 Cor. 12: 12-14). "For while one says (parphrased) I am a baptist, another says "I am non denominational". Another says " I don't belong to any church, I only follow Jesus." Are you not carnal? (1 Cor. 3: 4). As you can see I changed the wording slightly, but you get the point. "For we are laborers together with God; ye are God's husbandry, you are God's building." (1 Cor. 3: 9). We cannot say that just because that someone is in the organized church or outside of it that they are not following the Lord. I believe that God leaves some saints in organized churches at least for a season, many times to pray and intercede. If you are on fire for Jesus in a dead church, then one or two things will happen. Either there will be a resurrection that takes place in the lives of those that are dead, or you will get the left foot of fellowship. In any case, whether it be revival or judgement, the Lord's will is being done. |

122 | Should a Christian be a Mason? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 8837
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! the Mason's or a higher order of the Mason's - the Shriners are a very secretive organization that proclaim, do and say things that are not consistant with the bible. I will give two examples, although there are many. BOUND BY BLOOD OATHS From the initiation rituals of the "BLUE LODGES" and through all 33 degrees of Freemasonry, every Mason in the world is bound by bloody oaths to maintain the secrets of the Lodge. These binding oaths are kept through the spirit of fear, because the penalties for betraying the brethren of the lodge include serious physical harm to the Mason. Look at them from the perspective of Christ's admonition. The oath sworn by the Entered Apprentice or first degree: "binding myself under no less penalty than that of having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by its roots, and my body buried in the rough sands of the sea, at low water mark." The Master Mason swears,"under no less penalty than that of having my body severed in two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes scatter before the four winds of heaven" (Duncan's Ritual of Freemasonry, 3rd Ed., pp. 35 396, David McKay Pub., New York, NY) THE KING OF THE PIT OF HELL In the seventeenth degree of the Scottish Rite, or The Knights of the East and West Degree, after the candidates have completed the initiation they are given the secret password, Jubulum, and the Sacred Word, Abaddon. Here is the clue to the true identity of the Masonic Deity. It is revealed in the "Sacred Word" of this ritual, "Abaddon." In Revelation 9:11, we learn that "they [the demons and workers from hell] had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon!" Again, I must ask, "How could any true Christian dare to take upon himself that evil name as a sacred word?" the above came from information on a site called www.ericbarger.com/home2.htm I encourage all interested in learning more to visit the site, go to the search engine and type in Masons. I have not even touched the surface. prayon |

Mark, the "weired out" you feel is the Holy Spirit inside you telling you that it is wrong. The "uneasy" feeling you get is the Holy spirit grieving. Please, with an open mind, for your family's sake, go to the web site I mentioned in my posting or the ones mentioned in Steve's. God Bless, prayon

127 | Why the number 7? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 8910
Greetings Nolan! I thought I would add a little more. The symbolism of 7 should also be traced back to the symbolism of its components, three and four, which represent divinity and humanity. Therefore, the number 7 represents the union between God and man. Ciero called it the "knot and cement of all things" because in the number 7 the spiritual and the natural world were comprehended in one idea. Isn't the number 7 awesome?!?!? prayon

Mr. Moody was once asked whether he regarded the bible as inspired. His answer was brief and to the point - "I know the bible is inspired because it inspires me!" :o) prayon
129 | Was Abraham a Muslim? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9004
Abraham was the son of Terah, a descendent of Shem. Shem is the ancestor of Isreal, and was rewarded for a special relationship with God. Abraham was known as the first great patriarch of Isreal - an Isrealite, not a Muslim. He is, however, revered by the Muslims and the Christians as the epitome of human faith. He has been called the pioneer of trust in God. Terah, Abraham's father, was portrayed by ancient rabbinic interpreters as a manufacturer and worshiper of idols, which goes with God's command to Abraham to leave his father's house. prayon |

Brandi, I can't debate whether any of the above were Masons because I just don't know. I'm sure that many can live a life that appears to be Christian and most if not all believe in God. But I do know that Christians should NOT be Masons. Acording to the 'blood oaths' they take, which in itself go against the bible, they are not allowed to tell you anything concerning the rituals, oaths, etc. I have given 2 examples of evidence in my above posting "Absolutely not". I encourage you to read them with an open mind then go to the web site that I have listed. I think you will see that what they can't tell you about the Mason's can harm them in the end. Please read the information on the website. prayon |

131 | Should a Christian be a Mason? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9127
Brandi - You have proved my point better than I have! Anything that states "the Bible in itself is a symbol - that is, a part taken for the whole" or that the "Bible is not more than one of the Great Lights, and never has been" is an organization that Christians should NEVER be a part of. These teachings are not of God and if it is not of God the only other alternative is that they are of Satan. I could back up what I am saying with numerous scriptures and will be glad to supply them if you like. prayon

135 | Where's the Ark now? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9213
Just a note Nolan - The Jews have a tradition that before Nebuchadnezzar plundered the Temple the priests his the Ark and that its hiding place will be revealed by the Messiah at his coming. His knowledge of it will, they say, be a proof of his claims.
136 | Mercy on Unbelievers | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 9217
God as far as I know will not have mercy on the unbeliever. The unbeliever has been given every chance to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior but have denied Christ. I refer you to 2 Corinthians 6:14 - "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness?" Verse 17-18 goes on to say "Therefore come out from them (unbelievers) and be separate from them, says the Lord and touch nothing unclean; and I will welcome you, and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty". Paul urged believer not to form binding relationships with unbelievers because this might weaken their Christan commitment, integrity, or standards. Although we believe that we can stand strong in out commitment God knows us better than we know ourselves. He said what he did because He knows we are weak and can easily be deceived. |
