121 | rasied dead died twice? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Pastor Glenn | 106343
You asked: "are you saying that lazarus is still alive physically until the Lord comes. can you show me the scriptures regarding that." No. I am not saying that Lazarus is still alive physically. What I am saying is for Lazarus to die twice is an exception to the scripture that says it is appointed unto man once to die. God makes exceptions to any rule that He wants. So some die twice as did Lazarus, while others may never die, as in Enoch: Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. |

122 | Sexual orientation determined at birth | Prov 3:13 | Pastor Glenn | 104901
Very well said Steve. I also remember hearing of how the medical community changed the difinition of homosexuality in the 1970s from being a disorder. I realized back then that only bad implications would follow. The liberal judges and politicians are now very confused. They are now mixing in human civil rights in efforts to create a climate of anti-homophobia. They are seeking to prevent us from preaching against this particular sin. Thanks for the elaboration. God bless, Pastor Glenn |

Well said stjones except: "I have to agree with the liberals who say that the Bible does not specifically address sexual orientation." By the way happy Thanksgiving. I thank the Lord for allowing myself, beautiful wife, and nine children to be in the land of the living. I also thank Him for providing all of our needs. Alleluia. About your statement; respectfully, everything else that you said is the opposite of your opening paragraph. Please let me explain why: Just as you said "...Scripture does deal with sinful desires in general - they are the result of our fallen nature and our inclination toward sin. ...". Scientific literature ignores the fact of the "sinful nature" of fallen man. Here is one scripture that kalos provided: Roman 1 26For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Does this scripture show "...silence on sexual orientation in particular ..."? I hope that you don't feel that I am knit picking. Pastor Glenn |

More scriptures concerning temptation: Luke 22:46 Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation." 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 2 Peter 2:9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, |

Want2BChrist_Like, As you may already know, there are many with struggles similar to yours. For me at one point in my life it was lust of my eyes (covetousness), at another it was lust of my flesh (sexual desire while unmarried), and yet another was the pride of life (I liked to appear to be better than others). The struggle is not sin; however, yielding to temptation is sin. I have overcome these struggles, but even after being born again they still come back: Romans 7 14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Galatians 5 Walking in the Spirit 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[3] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21envy, murders,[4] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. DL5, Adam was the man created in chapters 1, as well as, in chapter 2. This is not two separate creation stories. Prior to Genesis 1:1 there was God, not man, not woman. I am somewhat offended by gap theories and pure and unpure bloodline theories, because these were used by the KKK and other racist to explain thier racism. If we fail to remember history, we are destined to repeat it. Pastor Glenn |

Romans 5 Death in Adam, Life in Christ 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-- 13(For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. 15But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 18Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. 20Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you were to say pure faith line, it would be more accurate. Cane's blood was no more pure than Abel's. It was Abel's faith that made the difference. See Hebrew 11. |

Truthfinder, About your last statement: "I honestly believe that if the Jewish scibes has not changed the original "inspired Scriptures" that this difference of thought would not be here between you and me." Are you saying that the not Christian jewish scribes changed the old testament scriptures so that YHWH was taken out? If this were so then we had no reliable manuscripts at the time of Christ's ministry. Why wouldn't Christ have corrected this alledged blunder? Why wouldn't the dead sea scrolls have shown this descrepancy? "I stress again the point that Jesus makes in verse 10, “I am in union with the Father”, not that he is the Father, Almighty God. 1 John 2:5 shows that we as mere men also can be in union with the Father by saying, . 5 But whoever does observe his word, truthfully in this [person] the love of God has been made perfect. By this we have the knowledge that we are in union with him." It is only possible for us to be in union with God if we confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. If Christ is not God to us, then we cannot have unity with the Father. Pastor Glenn |

I am not going to bomb you. After God finished the sixth day He said it was "very good". The tree of Good and Evil was actually the tree of the "knowledge" of good and evil. This does not imply that there was any "evil" about the tree itself. It was simply bait for man to act on any evil inclination that should arise in his mind. |

Jesus connected Genesis chapters 1 and 2: Mat 19 4And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made[1] them at the beginning "made them male and female,'[Genesis 1:27; 5:2] 5and said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?[Genesis 2:24] I have no good answer for the statement "replenish the earth". Maybe someone else can add to this. Pastor Glenn |

An interesting article: Noah's Flood - Where did the water come from? "...There are many volcanic rocks interspersed between the fossil layers in the rock record -- layers that were obviously deposited during Noah's flood. So it is quite plausible that these fountains of the great deep involved a series of volcanic eruptions with prodigious amounts of water bursting up through the ground. It is interesting that up to 70 percent or more of what comes out of volcanoes today is water, often in the form of steam. " http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/tools/flood-waters.asp |

DL5, 2 Pet 3 5For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. Compare this to Ps 24 "...founded it upon the seas...": 1 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. 2For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. also notice "...fountains of the great deep were broken up...": Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. "what was holding the waters up if there were not land below". Biblically, it appears that the waters are now holding up the land. "...the earth standing out of water and in the water..." |

Yes Colin, I was once blind and deaf also. But I often think of how the men of Ninevah believed only one message from only one preacher. As wicked as they were, they quickly believed God and repented. I would hate to see them having to rise for the prosecution against someone that heard God's warning over and over. Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. |

Is 45 5I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, 6That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other; 7I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.' 8"Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. I, the LORD, have created it. 9"Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, "What are you making?' Or shall your handiwork say, "He has no hands'? 10Woe to him who says to his father, "What are you begetting?' Or to the woman, "What have you brought forth?"' 11Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: "Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me. 12I have made the earth, And created man on it. I--My hands--stretched out the heavens, And all their host I have commanded. 13I have raised him up in righteousness, And I will direct all his ways; He shall build My city And let My exiles go free, Not for price nor reward," Says the LORD of hosts. The LORD, the Only Savior 14 Thus says the LORD: "The labor of Egypt and merchandise of Cush And of the Sabeans, men of stature, Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours; They shall walk behind you, They shall come over in chains; And they shall bow down to you. They will make supplication to you, saying, "Surely God is in you, And there is no other; There is no other God."' 15Truly You are God, who hide Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior! 16They shall be ashamed And also disgraced, all of them; They shall go in confusion together, Who are makers of idols. 17But Israel shall be saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever. 18For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the LORD, and there is no other. We see the Lord Jesus throughout scripture. Why can't others see? Praise the Lord Jesus! |

Truthfinder, I am glad that you realize that God had wisdom throughout all eternity. But, would God say things like: Matthew 4:10b ... "You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve."'[ Deuteronomy 6:13] and then throw in "His junior partner"? Is He trying to confuse us? The answer is no. We can serve Jesus because He is also God. Notice that without recognizing Christ's full deity, you can not worship Jesus, you can not really honor Jesus fully, you cannot fully respect Him for who He is. I challenge you now to show me one scripture that warns us not to worship Christ, or to honour Him, or show Him too much respect. Deuteronomy 6:13 cannot be used since Heb 1 shows even the angels must worship Him. By your theology it seems that any angels could have stepped in and died for our sins. But what angel would have had power to get back up from the dead as Christ did by His own power? John 10 17"Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." 19Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings. |

Truthfinder, This is as close as I have noticed you come to fully accepting Christ in your statement: "...He shows that those who received Christ Jesus, exercising faith in his name, were given “authority to become God’s children, . . . [being] born, not from blood or from a fleshly will or from man’s will, but from God.” ..." To add to the fine scriptures and comments of Nolan, Colin, DarcyA, and Hank, I wanted to encourage you to not be afraid to go the next step and confess Christ's full deity. Scripturally, what is the danger? I know that you see this is as not the real truth. But, please think about what Apostle Paul or Christ Himself might say if you could speak to him right now, directly. I think that they would say the same things that we are saying. Also, notice that Moses, Job, Abraham, Isaiah, and others in the old testament did not have new testament scriptures as we have. But, they still recognized Christ's full deity! John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 45Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you--Moses, in whom you trust. 46For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" Truthfinder, when you really find Christ, you have found the truth: John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. |

Hank, I also noticed those kinds of important errors. The scariest part is the danger of blaspheme against the Holy Spirit! But to stay focused, I hope that Truthfinder realizes that the name of Jesus is all important to salvation. Even if he is right about the use of "Jehovah" over "LORD", it is a moot point. He must deal with Jesus, there is no way around Him: John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. God Bless you Sir, Pastor Glenn |
