God's day to you, biblicalman, "The numbers 7 and 70 were ALMOST universally seen as indicating divine perfection at the time" ... is my reason not to assign numbers, because there are excpetions. Remember, creation was completed in six days (Exo 20:11, et. al.). All I need is one verse to prove the exception. I do not twist Scripture to fit what I want. I could make numbers, names ... show a code. For me they are just numbers, names ... Searcher |

113 | rapture of the church: true or false | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 231639
God's day to you, PMaster1955, and welcome to the SBF, I am currently studying and teaching Revelation. As part of the study I presented the study of the rapture views. While the word rapture is not in the Bible, "being caught up" (1Th 4:17) is used. The "dead in Christ" and "we who are alive and remain" will be caught up in the clouds to meet "the Lord". The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. There is some thought that the church panicked, when they heard a rumor that the day of the Lord was at hand, and they had missed the rapture. For each rapture view, I presented the following to each view: Description Examples of Interpreting Passages Strengths Weaknesses Origin of the View Current Standing Schools of Thought The bottom line, it is all a guess. 115 | What does Rev 3; 10 mean? | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 231648
God's day to you, G. Preston, There are several views on Revelation 3:10: • We will be kept out of it (the pretrib view) since the church is not seen after chapter 3. • We will be preserved through it (the posttrib view) based on John 17:15 uses same word. • From time to time in history believers are secure in His care during trials (idealist view). • We will be removed during it (the midtrib view) • The Jews/Christians were fighting for their survival in The Great Revolt (66-70) (preterist view). What is your guess? Searcher |
