163 | Why was I banned a day before mom died? | Bible general Archive 3 | Searcher56 | 175089
God's day to you Vince, First, I too pass my sympathy on the loss of you mother. You are being prayed for. Is there someone that you meet face-to-face? I think that is better than talking via the internet. Second, I don't think the response of others is doubletalk. They are real and speak from the heart, as do I. Third, if you respond - you can tell if they are real (including me) ... or not. Fourth, I believe Lockman needs to enforce the rules they set. Searcher |

173 | Go to heaven or hell? | Bible general Archive 3 | Searcher56 | 176604
God's days to you, ardmore, I agree with my brother Tim and others. Even stronger ... "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance" (2 Pet 3:9). But God know not everyone will repent. There will be a multitude going to heaven ... but that will be a few million comapared to the billions you will be lost. I am using million and billion as relative terms, not numbers I think they will be. |

Actually, there are no verses in the Bible ... in the original. Scripture ... 1 Cor 12-14 ... You cite 1 Cor. 12:28 and 1 Cor. 14:5. The gift of "various kinds of tongues" is a lessor gift (12:28-29) and one of many and "tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe" (14:22) ... rememeber this key point. Notice "with tongues" (12:30, 13:1, and "in tongues" (14:18 and more) are both used in this passage.. |
