No the gift is available for everyone, for as Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Those who have done this and repented have RECEIVED this gift. |

It is good that you changed from "for everyone" to "available to everyone." That is the correct wording. The scripture you gave does say "IF" The truth is Christ did not die for everyone, if He did everyone would go to heaven.

First off changing them did not change what I meant and according to 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit, And 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. So therefore Christ did die for all, but not all will accept this gift. Thank you for your input though |

Once again you should not add anything into scripture, 1 Peter 3:18 does not say "once for all" it says "once for sin." I guess in order to make your case you needed the ALL. You must understand that if Jesus had died for the sins of everyone then that would guarantee everyone heaven, there would be no need for hell since the wages of sin had been paid (Romans 6:23). If Christ died for the sins of Joe (who is in hell) then that would make God a liar if Joe still had to die for his own sins. The K.J.V. and N.K.J.V. both translate 2 Peter 3:9 to say "Longsuffering toward us" and the US or You is referring to saved . "Not willing that any should parish" the "any" must refer to those whom the Lord has chosen and will call to complete the redeemed. i.e., the "us." Since the whole passage is about God's destroying the wicked, His patience is not so He can save all of them, but so that He can receive all His own. He can't be waiting for everyone to be saved, since the emphasis is that He will destroy the world and the ungodly. Those who do perish and go to hell, go because they are depraved and worthy only of hell and have rejected the only remedy. Jesus Christ, not because they were created for hell and predetermined to go there. The path to damnation is the path of a non-repentant heart, it is the path of one who rejects the person and provision of Jesus Christ and holds on to sin (cf. Is.55:1; Jer.13:17; Ezek.18:32; Matt.11:28; 13:37; Luke 13:3; John 3:16; 8:21,24; 1 Tim.2:3,4; Rev.22:17). "all should come to repentance." "All" (cf. "us," "any") must refer to all who are God's people who will come to Christ to make up the full number of the people of God. The reason for the delay in Christ's coming and the attendant judgments is not because He is slow to keep His promise, or because He wants to judge more of the wicked, or because He is important in the face of wickedness. He delays His coming because He is patient and desires the time for His people to repent.

I am through with your battle of words, but for your information, those scriptures were copied and pasted from the amplified bible which is one of the two approved version on this website. I didn't even read the rest of it since it seems you are not here to study and fellowship, but to cause grief |

Thank you! I'm not here to battle, but to discuss doctrine. If anyone doesn't understand God's sovereignty I am here to help. If it's grievous to want to know the truth, then I am truly sorry. Truth in Love Jayell |

You have accused me of evil doing without a cause and I have ask God to forgive me for offending you. I ask that you forgive me as well but I pray that you will study more on this subject. I did not mean to come across to you in a harsh way. Our unity is very important to me and crucial to the fallen world. One of my closest friends and brother-in-Christ have and still disagree on this subject. And will always love him. Our fellowship is not worth losing at any cost. Forgive me Jayell |
