Rowdy, Are you aware that the Moral Law (10 Commandments) is distinct from the "law" (ceremonial)? Kalos is correct: we are absolutely to obey the Moral Law, it is a requirement (see Kalos' last post in this string). In fact, it largely because of this moral requirement upon us that God gave His only begotten Son... It's His Son who finally enables us to do the Law. The Law isn't void by any means. Diligently studying the OT is critical to our growth as Christians, as Romans makes abundantly clear. Colin |

You bring up a very good point which makes my point a little clearer. One of the 10 commandments was to make the Sabbath holy which goes in direct opposition to the NT command by example of worship assembly on the "first day of the week." This is just one of the contrasts as was mentioned earlier in my previous post. In contrast to the command Not to Murder, we are to adhere to a higher standard and forgive our enemies, even when the enemy doesn't ask for forgiveness. Like I mentioned before, God wants us as His children to graduate from the 600 plus ordinances of the OT and move on to the Law of Liberty with Christ as the High Priest. Again, I must ask: Do you have specific scriputures directly opposing the scriptures I used to support my previous posts. Please be sure they specifically counter the main point of each scripture. God bless. |
