1 | Is the Sabbath on Saturday? | Bible general Archive 1 | Brother Billy Joe | 74502 | ||
Where was your "righteous indignation" when you used the Holocaust in "a fruitless attempt to prove (?) your faulty argument" or condemn others that keep the Sabbath were "weak in faith" and "in bondage". Where is your "righteous indignation" when you condemn Jews or Israelis for keeping the Sabbath becasue of your "misuse" of the NT. You started your slander in an "a ungodly manner" and now hypocriticaly condemn others while you do the same things. If anyone is "under bondage" it is those people like yourself who do not obey God and condemn others who do so. You are not "free" but in the most abject bondage of all - disobedience to God. Paster Bill J Either you accept ALL of Scripture to be inspired and acknowledge when, how and why Christians may worship on Sunday, or you ONLY believe those that tie in with your particular doctrine. With enough "Jewish blood" to have gone to the furnace in Germany, I have a certain view on "the Sabbath". The above, cut and pasted from an earlier post I wrote, is merely to point out to YOU what you misread the first time through. Please sir, if you can read something that isn’t written in the above, how can you persuade anyone, yourself included, what you claim in your slanderous post of wrongfully judging Christians who ACCEPT what God says He said? I will repeat, out of obvious necessity, “With enough "Jewish blood" to have gone to the furnace in Germany, I have a certain view on "the Sabbath” in order to allow you another opportunity to accept what I said, how I said it, and why I said it. The reason I said, “I have enough Jewish blood to have gone to the furnace” is – although many of my family were not practicing Judism, (we worship on the same day as Christians have since shortly after Christ’s resurrection – Sunday) we still would be considered “Jews” by the Nazi’s merely because of our heritage. Now, do you have a better understanding of why the Lord had me write that “necessary” piece of information? Since you DON’T accept ALL of Scripture to be inspired and acknowledge when, how and why Christians may worship on Sunday, am I at fault? Since you refused to accept even the Jew’s explanation of WHEN Christians began to observe Sunday, and why Christians began to observe Sunday, and what Christian’s throughout the centuries have known and understood from Scriptures to observe Sunday, inspired by God – am I at fault? (The Jews, whom you have dragged their different from Christian’s views, only to try in a failed attempt to prove your personal non-Scriptural point of view) If you honestly believe your own misguided concept that you a falsely claim: (I’m quoting you now) “when you condemn Jews or Israelis for keeping the Sabbath becasue of your "misuse" of the NT. You started your slander in an "a ungodly manner" and now hypocriticaly condemn others while you do the same things” – am I at fault? In answer to you question, “where is my "righteous indignation? I think this post and the one from Tim Moran explains that fruitless question. My question to you is could you please cut and paste from one of my post you stated I did: “Where is your "righteous indignation" when you condemn Jews or Israelis for keeping the Sabbath becasue of your "misuse" of the NT. You started your slander in an "a ungodly manner" and now hypocriticaly condemn others while you do the same things.” Because I can’t locate anything that resembles those “charges” you are condemning me for. And, sir, you are also wrong about being disobedient to God. His word is what I follow and believe not man's. Taleb |

Taleb, There is a question pending for you on Matthew 24:14 I have questions about this string, too. - is the regarding one day above another and observing the day ... -- the difference between (some of) the Jewish and Gentile believers (Acts 10:11-16, 15:28-29)? -- have to be the Sabbath - first day of the week issue or can it be the other special days in the OT? - is there a command to worship on the Sabbath? - is there a command to worship on the first day of the week? - what is difference between worship, keeping a day holy and gathering together -- do those who chose the first day of the week, keep it holy? - where does it say the first day of every month is the first day of the week? Let us read about the "first day of the week" "On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight" (Acts 20:7). -There is only one time when they gathered together "on the first day of the week" ... and since Paul was there seven days (vs 6), could they have gathered together the other days ... and it was the day before he was to leave, so could it have been a special occasion? - Did Paul change his customs from Acts 17:2 to Acts 20:7. What day did he reason in the synagogue in Acts 18:4 "On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come" (1 Cor 16:2)". - Where does it say to "gather together" or "give" on the first day of the week? All I see is "to put aside and save" ... if I "save" I cannot give. - When did workers get paid in Corinth? |

Searcher, sorry it took me to long to return a response. Has your modem ever gone “haywire”? To answer these questions quickly, let me ask you one. Your answer will answer these questions for you. Do you know what the Greek word is for “the first day of the WEEK?” Sabbaton. Strong’s 4521. It is same word translated "week" is translated Sabbath everywhere else. Interesting. Also, in Paul's day and age, (even in many places in the world today) Gentiles worked every day. They didn't keep track with a 7-day week. Jews worked at the most six days in a row, depending on how many "sabbaths" there were. And about when did workers get paid in Corinth? The day they worked was pay day. Matthew 20:1-16 talks about a day’s wage for a day’s work. It is still the same in most of the world today. At the end of the day, everyone is paid. Surely you didn’t think they had pay days like we do, where the employers withholds the first week or two? Respectfully, Taleb |
